Star Wars Battlefront II (Nov 17th, 2017, PC/XB1/PS4) trailer, info, more

Darth Maul as a hero? Instant hyped already!

I hope so! They'll probably have this battle from the Clone Wars.

They'll probably cut down those heros from the PT down by half Razgriz, those DLC characters would be amazing but Rex, Asajj and Cad Bane just won't appeal to most :/

The reason I suggest that many PT characters is depending on technical balance
Obi-Wan-> Mace
Anakin-> Anakin
Leia->Padme
Palpatine->Palpatine

Rex imo would be popular enough sadly you might be right about the others.
But with the mention of no Season Pass they could sell it as a characters pack or singles and it could do alright.

So Am I the only one who doesn't want to play as a girl? (in single player) Let alone one that looks like Michelle Rodriguez?? No offence to anyone, but I have no interest in playing a girl. Hope I don't sound sexist, but I'm having a hard time accepting that the Empire would have a female human special forces commander. Unless she has force powers or is related to Jango Fett

Please give me the option to play as a male so I don't have to roll my eyes when shes talking tough.
lmaooooo damn.

I do look forward to reading the reaction from the crazy gaming scum side to this tailer

They finally get their dream of a cinematic space nazi campaign.....but have to play as a woman

Really?

What was that mini Star Destroyer looking ship that they focused on a few times in the trailer?

At first, I thought it was a Tie Decimator, but when I had the chance to have a proper look, I realised the Decimator has a very different silhouette

No I'm sure there are others like you out there.

Let alone one that looks like Michelle Rodriguez??

Um she doesn't?

You do but also why wouldn't the Empire accept a female special forces soldier? I don't remember anything in the Star Wars lore where they look down on women.

Unless she has force powers or is related to Jango Fett

Why would that make a difference?

Please give me the option to play as a male so I don't have to roll my eyes when shes talking tough.

Uh huh.

Looks like EA still don't get what made the Battlefront games so fun. Instead they are happy to allow this to sell based on the excellent brand and simply profit off of a gimped battlefield game with lasers.

Pandemic didn't die for this.

It's a Raider-Class Corvette. It's pretty awesome that it made it in because it was designed by FFG for the X-wing miniatures game. Basically they needed something in between a Decimator and Star Destroyer to fit the game and they designed this.

Looks like vehicle pickups are gone?

IGN said:
You shouldn’t just feel invested in your favourite picks, but like you truly deserved to break them out mid-battle. One of the most dogged criticisms of DICE’s first Battlefront game was that it rarely made you feel like you earned its biggest rewards. Accessing gadgets, vehicles and nigh-unstoppable heroes via floating holographic coins might have made things a little smoother - no more TIE Fighter bunfights as whole teams tried to climb into one cockpit - but it was hardly satisfying. The fact that collecting those power-ups was mostly a matter of good luck at the expense of other players, and that those moments could end pretty suddenly only compounded the issue.

Executive producer Matt Webster summarises that problem well: “it was a brief experience for the lucky few.” It’s clearly a rehearsed line, most likely because a major part of the multiplayer team’s job has been to fix it. While the devs, again, won’t delve deep into exactly how the system will work, we’re told that both heroes and vehicles will now work on what the team calls “a resource-based system”.

I know you've been quoted a bunch already but wtf at this part? "Let alone"? First off, she doesn't look like her. Secondly, you say that as if that somehow makes it worse. What exactly do you mean here?

Upgrades to classes and abilities for the deluze edition, huh.

No thanks Ill pass

It's $63 and you have no idea how the class system is going to work.

I almost feel bad for EA because even when the trailer leaked people on Reddit and here were looking for a reason to hate on the game.

It gets better and better. I appreciate what DICE were trying to fix with the system they had in the first game, because frankly as bizarre as those floating tokens seemed, I absolutely loathe the way vehicles get divvied out in Battlefield too. Let's hope this resource based system works - it sounds like it may be a bit like the way Halo Warzone works?

I'm at a loss of words when I read that......

Post rotj the leader of the empire and founder of the first order is a black woman. How do you feel about it?

Wow, that's pretty neat. On a personal note, I'm a little bummed it's not the Decimator I adore that ship, but it's cool to see FFG exclusive stuff making their way to other media

To be honest I kind of hope the main character wasn't a woman because I kind of prefer the idea that the Empire didn't let women serve in positions of command, which is what I deducted from the OT and Rogue One.

In the OT we see Leia and Mon Mother serving in positions of leadership and women pilots but no women whatsoever in the Imperial military.

The random pick-ups like the rocket launcher were alright. The hero and vehicle pickups on the other hand were bullshit. You'd have people camping the pickup locations, hogging them and it really killed the balance. You have a round where one team has 4 hero's out at once and the other has none because of the timing of the spawns. It was just stupid. Glad they're rid of them. Hopefully the new one is fair and balanced though. I don't want it rewarding the best players only.

By the sounds of the Deluxe Edition features and the description of how certains aspects are customisable, it sounds like the game will be closer to BF4 in terms of depth which is great.

Wonder what the deal will be with the missing Season Pass.

You don't switch between protagonist in the campaign like Battlefield 1, right?

It says there will be missions where you play as a established characters but it sounds like the majority will be the female pilot.

Multiple eras is great. But please EA, for the love of christ learn from your mistakes with Battlefront I when it comes to game modes and content. The season pass fiasco crippled the experience.

Sounds like you might be projecting some bias.

There's already numerous examples of female Imperial officers in the novels, which are canon.

To the people who are projecting their true feelings by saying the position of a female pilot is anti-lore. The story's already been accepted as canon by Lucasfilm/Disney.

So, what now?

Women in the Empire was never shown in the movies but even the old EU had plenty of women in high spots. Palpatine didn't care who or what you were as long as you had promise and complete loyalty to him.

I mean in the old EU you had women up and down the command structure

or a non human. That was really the only documented, explicit bias. Part of what makes Thrawn so great

Palpatine was definitely anti-alien in the old EU. That's why Grand Admiral Thrawn was such a big deal in the first place, he was the only non-human to ever achieve that rank.

Pretty sure if Ventress would have been around she would have been a commander. Hell there are even female Inquisitors.

Never gonna understand how many people cant play as both genders.

Couldnt care less which gender my character has. Its a story i experience dont need to put myself into everything.

Honestly I am just glad we are getting some badly needed story from after ROTJ. Trailer shows Operation: Cinder etc. So some of the novel stuff is being presented in graphic presentation.
