Tigers have looked good this season. I think they'll do well in the Finals too. I can see one or two of the 5th-8th placed teams doing well this year with the way some of the top teams are playing.

Collingwood have been disappointing last couple weeks. Now at 6 losses in a row...

Was at the game. Kicked on at the Casino afterwards.

Beating the Pies, Eddie melting down live on Foxtel and winning 270 bucks after drinks.

Doesnt get much better.

Pies had a really great couple of weeks where they should have beaten some of the better teams of the comp. They didn't have the edge to be able to get the job done. Now with injuries and out of form players they are getting shown up by teams I think they are better than. Overall it's been a very disappointing 6 weeks. That's our year done now and they'll want to draft a decent forward in next year to help share the load with Cloke. White wasn't the answer.

The AFL's grudge against the Swans has been pretty transparent since we got Franklin. Fitzpatrick despises us. That's why the 'AFL love child' tag is laughable. Only team in history to be punished for following the rules.

The whole commission is dodgy as anything. Fitzpatrick especially. Conflicts of interest galore.

Colless is an absolute legend by the way. How can you not love someone who has a history of sticking it up both Fitzpatrick and Maguire?

Can't convict 34 players because of 2 samples.

Imagine if it was Ryder and Crameri

It is just one cog in the puzzle. With the low likelihood of actually getting a positive test due to how quickly it is processed by the body... seems like they are surprised they got anyone.

For some reason I last second switched to Geelong. It's more of a hope than a smart pick.

Edit: I'm glad I did. ;) Wouldn't have been much more than 30 secs before it closed.
That was probably our best performance all year. More of the Geelong of last year. Everyone chipped in.

Goodes getting booed again. Not as much but they were there.

More of a 'you can't tell us what to do AFL' than anything else I'd say

Well I've lost all hope that we can do anything in September this year. We're just playing such uninspiring football. Longmire's refusal to match numbers in our forward line is infuriating and means we can very rarely kick a winning score.

We should have the best forward line in the league but it's the area we struggle the most. So frustrating.

Sounds like the Pies have delisted them and will pick them up as rookies again.

would take a wait & see approach on that, will take two very dedicated youngsters to keep fit & motivated for the next 18 months. hopefully there is a good news story at the end, kind of feel (slightly) sorry for them if this drug was in an illicit drug as they claim.

you need hannebury, rohan and parker all firing with buddy being dangerous at half forward & tippet sticking inside the square. injuries, form and the need for tippet to ruck isnt quite getting it done. should beat collingwood this week, refresh and get buddy back next week, remain in the hunt.

hoping hawks can ruin stevie johnsons 250th this week in a big way :)

That Adelaide turn around is pretty huge. At one point during the third it was 11 goals to 4 points after the quarter time scores. Now it's close to 100pts after Essendon led by a goal at quarter time.

Edit: 4.8 to 24.6.... 112 pts

Half the tipping comp could be in-line to get a whopper this week.

Edit: The Doggies / Melbourne game looks interesting. 11.4 (70) - 0.2 (2) 7mins into the 2nd...

I should have known better.

Thought West Coast's injuries would have taken a bigger toll but to be fair, I didn't really give it much thought.

More fighting in the stands. I assume this is front page news?

Hopefully, they really need to do something about all those soccer fans going to AFL matches.

EDIT: Haha, so many people on FB/Twitter are pissed at Freo for costing them a Whopper.

At which game? I haven't heard anything about it, a quick search revealed nothing as well...where did you hear this from?

There was some pretty tame footage of fans throwing a few punches/wrestling on twitter.

The week before (I believe it was) was a far more serious affair.

Interesting. I've been to ~50 VFL/AFL games over the years and have never seen any violence amongst the crowd. There's always plenty of banter, but I've never seen anything escalate beyond that.

What happened the week before? There was an incident at a train station between Richmond/Carlton fans or something?

I have been to more sokkah games than AFL and seen more violence at AFL games. *shrug*

Other incident I remeber was a few weeks back as it turns out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4riuIJb7e0

But that was the sum extent of the coverage.

Really? I guess you haven't been to any Sydney FC v Melbourne Victory derbies then. I was with the Sydney FC fans in Melbourne in 2009, and we had a police escort out of the stadium and down the road.
Arseholes were throwing beer bottles and other shit at us outside the stadium while the police were surrounding us, it was pretty full-on.

I hadn't seen that footage of the Collingwood/Bulldogs fans. Fucking disgraceful.

All the crowd footage from Swans games is people with polo shirts sipping champagne.

Port crowd footage is the same few bogans that they follow at every match.

I've been to 100+ Swans games and never seen any violence.

We're a classy bunch though.

I've been to a fair few Swans v Hawks games(including the Grand Final in 2012), mostly at the SCG. The crowds have always been great.
I always get told to sit down which I find amusing, sorry for getting excited when my team scores you uptight bastards :p

I was a Crows member for about 15 years. I have been an Adelaide United member the last three years.

Its a different type of behaviour at football and AFL matches.

Football (at Hindmarsh) tends to be a younger crowd and louder. Its a lot more diverse too, plenty of different cultures, Ive never seen a group of Africans sitting together at an AFL game, but there are a few groups that go to AU games.

The language used by AFL crowds is generally worse and I have seen more people ejected at AFL matches than at United games. Though I have only seen one fight at either football or AFL matches, and it was at an AFL match.

Adelaide United v Victory is good banter. Lots of name calling and young guys making out they want to fight, but I have never seen any fists thrown, unlike the dude I still remember decked at the Adelaide Crows v Bulldogs 97 prelim final.

Don't get me wrong, I think that violence is unacceptable in the crowd in all codes and not trying to make it x sport against y sport, I just have issues with the way things get reported depending on the sport in question.

yeah, I understand your point.

However, as a football fan, it annoys me that the coverage that A-league "violence" gets compared to AFL is completely disproportionate.

You see highlights of the AU v Victory games on FTA news and they start the report showing police escorting supporters into the stadium and report specifically on the behaviour of the crowd, but then you never hear how many people have been locked up after the AFL grand final.
