Does anybody think Sony will be able to sale 120 million PS4s before the PS5 is released?
You are thinking PS5 is coming nov. 2020? It could be possible with a price cut and good bundles.

.... But they are poised to lose next gen. I read it on some american tech magazines

Yeah I'm thinking the PS5 will release October or November of 2020. So you think an OG PS4 on permanent sale for $199 with one bundled game will do it?

Should be close depending on when its released, also price cut strategy could help. If its released in May 2020, doubtful without a huge price cut.
114m May
116m Sept
120m Nov
I don't really have data on PS2. Here are some figures from wiki, it suggests 30-40m units were sold after the PS3 was released. I think it really depends on how long Sony pushes the PS4 or pushes people to the PS5.That's an interesting break down. Would you happen to know how many PS2s were sold the day the PS3 released? Was it over or under 120 million sold?
If they have crazy holiday deals that become permanent I'd give it an outside shot. But I wouldn't put too much money on it. I expect they will sell 120 million before production ends, but they only have one more complete holiday season before PS5 launches and with possible tariffs coming into play I just don't see them hitting that price sweet spot where it sells 20 millions in 15 months.Does anybody think Sony will be able to sale 120 million PS4s before the PS5 is released?
And you are not childish to started this with your comment that if Sony had balls??Sorry for Disappointing you im not a xbox Fanboy i play exclusively on the playstation since the First one
Yeah its better when both companies Show their hw sales numbers divided
Youre so childish how old are you maybe a Teenager

The fact that PS4 tracks so favorably compared to PS2 is even more amazing when considering the competition. PS4 has sold like hot cakes with 2 alternatives on the market from Nintendo, plus the Xbox One which release at the same time and has still done well despite the wide disparity in sales. PS2 had a much easier fight IMO. Dreamcast had potential but crumbled in the face of PS2. And OG Xbox, although my favorite of the generation, was a light weight competition wise. And gamecube was like a little brother trying to play 1 on 1 against his older brother six years older than him.So Sony sold about 120 million PS2 consoles, before the PS3 was released. That's interesting that the PS4 will be around that amount before the PS5 releases. Plus throw in PSN money and you can safely say this is Sony's best transition between consoles ever in the 25-year history of the Playstation brand.
I hope they use this transition to the max.

When all is said and done, PlayStation 4 will be the all time best selling console.
PS4 looks on target to match Nintendo DS/PS2 for sales
Extrapolating it looks like 120m will be reached just over 7 years after launch - so that's beginning 2021.

If they go that route it becomes doable IMO, more so if they have a $150 black Friday (week) deal. And apologies to one of the greatest games ever, but I would pack something else in over LOU2. Spiderman and a $10 VR bucks code so that they can co-brand the box with Spiderman and Fortnite. Another possibility would be getting Roblox on there and branded on the package. Huge potential there.Amazing research! So Sony "can" sell 120 million before November 2020 like some here said with a perm $199 price and so crazy bundles next year. Basically a $199 PS4 bundle with The Last of Us 2 the summer of 2020 will be what's needed.

Yeah I disagree with pretty much everything you wrote here. Nintendo is still in the home console market - played their newest console on my TV this past weekend in fact. Yep, it can be played mobile, but it is still very much a home console. Has wireless controllers and everything. Moving onto MS, it is true they did not live up to their potential. But calling them a complete failure is a stretch. Oh and the shrinking market thing - have you been living under a rock? Do you know that people can win like 3 million for a gaming tournament in 2019? Call me crazy, but I would have laughed at the suggestion the market would ever be big enough for that shit in 2002.You mean less competition Nintendo pulled out of the home console market. MS completely failed and Sony did ok but the home console market will have shrunk 100 million this generation. Basically Sony got the vast majority of the HD twins sales of last generation. Good for them but we went from 3 healthy home consoles to 1. The market has shrunk big time and that is not good for anyone.
At this point, I'm super curious what cashed-up, confident Sony, has in store for us with PS5.
I've said it before, but I just have this feeling that they're prepping something special. Full BC with everything? Including Vita? Monster specs? PSVR2?
Congrats Sony on the 100 million. Well deserved.
Has there been any official statement from Sony about this milestone yet?
My phone can do that to it is no home console. The switch is a hand held with a TV output. I said home console market not total gaming market. Including PC, tablets, phones sure you have a bigger market. And prize money on a game that is not a console exclusive does not mean much in the home console market discussion.Yeah I disagree with pretty much everything you wrote here. Nope, the switch is a home console that can be detached from part of its processing capabilities to play on the go. Prove me wrong. My phone can do that to it is no home console. If only 1% of China buys XB1, well... That's like tens of millions of consoles more. You just wait!Xbros we can still win!!
It's true, China has the potential of being to the console market, what it is to the movie market. So it's a good thing Microsoft is investi... oh wait.
In China, one of the biggest investors in homegrown console games isn’t domestic giants Tencent or NetEase -- it’s Sony. The Japanese titan just announced seven new titles under its China Hero Project, a program that invests in and promotes console games made by Chinese developers. The first of six games announced in the first batch last year has already been shipped. it is. You just know at one point China is gonna lift that console ban and Sony's foot isn't even in the door; it's on the coffee table in the living room with it's shoe off in front of the TV on it's third hot chocolate. This article is insane when you think about it.

You can connect a PS3 controller to the PSPGo, that has a cradle and connects to the TV. Is that a home console?Yeah I disagree with pretty much everything you wrote here. i only said my opinion that has nothing to do with Sony or MS they must be clear when they announce their sold numbers divided is the best way for clear and Clean numbersAnd you are not childish to started this with your comment that if Sony had balls??
Look in the mirror and tell me who is childish now?
That took a lot longer than most expected, the slow season really is slow indeed.
I remember the times, when the press told me that zynga is killing the whole console business
The fastest console to ever hit the milestone. What are you talking about?
I even click in 'show ignored members' to know what post you quote, but...The fastest console to ever hit the milestone. What are you talking about?

My favorite one was about how the Xbox SAD was burning up the charts for awhile. Good timesYeah, mods finally put a stop to that.
