Yeah I don't think they would drop the price on the Series X, it's already a fantastic deal at the same price as the weaker PS5. Maybe (and that's a BIG maybe) they'd drop the XSS to $249 to stomp on the PS5DE.

Explain exactly why this would be desperate if this was the pricing plan all along? To be flexible and be sure to undercut the competition? Make zero sense to say it was desperate unless you just want one console to win no matter what.

It could happen but it's not too likely. The PS5 has more or less sold out already so anyone who wants a next gen console this year will have to get an Xbox. I know MS have been aggressive with their pricing but I think a price drop now would be just leaving money on the table. If I were them, I would be pushing the cost savings on software more than cutting the price on hardware, particularly when you're already selling the consoles at a loss.

MS devalued Xbone enough throughout entire generation. Since Kinect drop, Xbone was constantly cheaper.

Playstation fans should be hoping for this. Sony is still winning big 65-75 percent market share. With the S at 250 it could help kill off support sooner for the ps4 since you could buy it for the same price or less. The less appealing the ps4 is sooner Sony kills cross generation.
