Yes Forza has racing RT, but god damn is the LOD pop-in noticeable. I'd rather have no racing RT and a less noticeable LOD pop-in.

Noticed that too and didn't want to bring it up, but it's definitely there. I mean GT7 on PS5 has a little bit of LOD pop-in too but it's barely noticeable. I guess Turn 10's new Forzatech engine is still using the older engine's LOD management code.

What was the Sea of Thieves thing about what they showed with a date?
To me it looked like the made an ad jingle for MTX drop...

Me too, but this will probably be a toggle. So its good the option is there for the ones who want it and take the performance hit

However, if I'm being honest, Forza visually doesn't look that much better than GT7 and I think GT7 has the superior lighting system and color palette, but Forza has real-time RT in-game and car damage modeling which are pluses over GT7
As a guy who actually perfers GT, the lack of car destruction in most GT games make me want to go mad.
Although yes, GT's lighting system and color palette is so much better looking, the cars look real in that game. I have higher hopes for motorsport than GT though since GT7 was a disaster (as much as i'd like to play it)

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
Lol I am the only one who voted 1/10 who would have thought.

I didn't really have any expectations, but my god it was boring.

There were 1 or 2 games that were mildly interesting, but it wasn't anything special.

Even Diablo 4 looks extremely underwhelming.

Also who the hell thought it was a good idea that the xp bar was in the middle of the screen in Starfield lol

Yeah lack of car damage in GT is pretty jarring this day and age, I hope something can be worked out between PD/Sony and the car manufacturers to include them. I mean, it seems MS/Turn 10 and a lot of those same manufacturers have something figured out, there's no way they offer one game exclusivity on car damage and not the other 🤣

I'm still holding out on GT7 because I'd like to play it on PS5 and not PS4, but they've been handling the car pricing MTX like garbage. Pretty annoying to see; I think Sony are driving that and need to ease TF off, make the pricing on the cars more manageable and just make more cars and tracks, even modes to sell for money if that's what they want.

8/10

+ They actually showed first party current gen exclusive gameplay of Forza, starfield and Redfall
+Had a decent showing of games
Starfield
Forza
Redfall
Diablo 4
Overwatch 2
etc
+ Its wasn't just multiplats and timed exclusives.

- the conference had pacing issues having a bunch of lesser known smaller games, gets a bit boring. Should just focus on a few of the more stand out ones and save the rest for another event.

They better get the BeamNG guys to do the car damage, now THAT would be something

Had to look them up and damn, that's solid work 👍

Oh man that would be amazing but probably too CPU intensive.

Well the simulator seems like it came out at least back in 2013 and the system requirements on Steam look less demanding than what the PS5 and Series systems have CPU-wise (Ryzen 7 1700; i7 6300 3.4 GHz).

For comparison PS5 (and Series systems) have a CPU equivalent to R7 3700X. I guess the question is if there's enough overhead in extra CPU power to provide that in something like GT7 while keeping the same fidelity, visual quality and FPS. Or if some things like geometry detail and texture quality would have to be lowered to let the GPU handle some of the physics with asynchronous compute.

Except Starfield being fallout with better graphics mixed with no man sky ( I loved it) there was nothing else that made me want to upgrade from Xbox one to Series. Maybe next year.

Starfield looked really underwhelming. But that might be just me. Also, whats up with those faces?

Its good to see sony losing the exclusivity of persona games but would be better if it was for nintendo since i wouldnt mind duble dipping persone 5 on switch.

Silksong looks great but its so far away and weve heard about that game so much that by the time it releases ill be mentally done with it.

Redfall looks like a swell podcast game.

Scorn. SOMBER TAPESTRIES!!!

LoL @ kojima anouncement. That game is not coming out till 2026 and cloud experience? Gtfo w/that shit.

Overall, it felt kinda desperate. It is sad to see after all those acquisition, XbX doesnt have anything to match the level of fidelity of PS games and the level of creativity of Nintendo games. They should stop focusing on who or what they can get from the competition and start leaning on how they can raise the bar. Cuz this.aint.it.

Yeah the system requirements are for the most basic stuff. But this game is like the Garry's mod for car destruction and you can go from basic to really intensive CPU usage pretty quickly.AI is pretty basic (or at least it was last time I played)...But you are probably right scale it down a bit and tweak it to fit a game or at least some races....
If you haven't tried it it is awesome, it reminded me of the fun I had with the Burnout crashes when I was younger.

If I'm rating it as a show by itself, probably a 7 or so. As something that had things that actually interested me though? Like a 3.

OW 2 being f2p, open world Diablo 4, Personas moving to Pc(and Xbox), LOL/Valorant with all champions(saying this because it's a new and good business model for these F2p games)... I was gonna give it 9 until I saw Starfield gameplay trailer. It was ok but below my expectations so... I gave this one 8/10. Good job Phil:messenger_clapping: It was a decent show.

This showcase was terrible. When it comes to MS studios, it felt like a DLC showcase. It just feels like even if it's not true that MS seems more concerned with quantity. Treating games as a hivemind rather than individuals. And that's all I thought about as I watched that horrible games showcase today. Xbox has more studios than PlayStation and had more studios than PlayStation at the time even before they bought Bethesda. So what the heck is going on over there? This company had to nerve to launch a console with no 1st party games and years later show up like this. I gave them a pass last year, I thought for sure given last two years they would come out this time on fire. Now maybe they held out some things for the extended so i'll modify this if that's the case but based purely on today. 4/10

I was disappointed in not seeing Avowed or Hellblade 2 gameplay after its last demonstration.

Starfield, Silksong & Kojima’s new cloud game were the biggest highlights, personally. P4G & P5R should’ve both been on Xbox years ago.

I think next time they should shorten the show to at least 40-60 mins. Too much filler I essentially ignored.

Tighten up the presentation, be more concise.

Potential was high.

Delivered was nearly nothing.

Starfield looks promissing, I am anoyed from the Forza Franchise, reminds me on Fifa.

No Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, no Fable, no Halo Koop, no Banjo, no, no ,no.

M$ owns IPs and developers and isnt able to deliver.

Boring ugly indie crap as well.

A lot of stuff that I'm excited to try on Game Pass.

Not a lot that I would be excited for without Game Pass.

Pretty silly that Diablo IV won't be on Game Pass day 1.

I'd rate it about a 7. No Fable, Hellblade, or Perfect Dark dragged my hype down a great deal. Fable being likely 2 years away, is a bummer.

Starfield was clearly the standout. That can't come quick enough.

Was expecting a lot more considering the shows run time.

Just finished watching the 4k presentation I wasn't hyped before watching but I was quietly confident Xbox would knock it out the park and boy was I wrong I'm sure this show satisfied some but it was NOT for me. I was 100% certain Starfield would have an amazing showing, it wasn't bad but definitely underwhelming. I wish they would've set everyone's expectations earlier that they only planned to show games releasing for the next 12 months instead of telling us in the show then I wouldn't have been disappointed not seeing the Coalition we desperately need to see whatever they have cooking up for this generation....I'm just not happy the more I think about it lol

It was a glorious closing of the week, especially compared to the mostly mediocre shows of the past two weeks.

Your joking right?

So street fighter 6 gameplay, re4 GAMEPLAY, RE VILLAGE IN VR, FF16 GAMEPLAY is not as exciting as a game that needs another full year and looks like a more ambitious no man's sky. Like diablo 4 looks tits, but its not day one on gamepass. Redfall looks like a mediocre Back4blood, starfield has potential but it looked rough. Animations dont even touch anything SOny has done. What are you playing this fall or rest of the year?

Forza DLC, Sea of thieves DLC, where the fuck was Halo?

Sorry you have to be trolling to think this. I hope this was you trolling.

Why are people so sure that Diablo is not coming to Gamepass? What's the point of even showing the game then?

Even if its not slated for GP at this moment, if the activision deal has closed before it releases, you can bet your butt it'll be GP day 1.

They didn't show this at the Sony or Keighlies, meaning Sony doesn't have marketing rights for this prior to the acquisition either, so we can't use the RE Village contract excuse either.

Exactly. This is coming to Gamepass as soon as the deal goes through.

It probably will closer we get to closing the deal I think. But currently they cant do anything until then. it closes June 2023 but I hear they are trying to move the time table up. But If Diablo 4 launches before the close not much Microsoft can do about that. If they have influence on the games release than that will cause an issue Legally.

I gave it an 8... but after thinking about it it's more like a 6. Maybe lower for me personally, but for someone who isn't me it's probably closer to a 7/8. I appreciated the variety on display. And if I didn't have an objection on principle to game pass, and had a ton more free time, I do think that represents a lot of value to a gamer.

The thing I'm confused about... isn't basically everything apart from Starfield & a couple of their in-house indie-looking games going to be on PS5? I think the distinction between things like "Console Launch Exclusive", "Console Exclusive" (which I saw I think 1 time in the whole show?), and whatever "World Premiere" is supposed to suggest is really lost on me... especially since basically everything was tagged at the end with "Xbox consoles / PC / Cloud".

So I don't know. This does not come anywhere close to convincing me to buy a Series X.
It seems like I could be playing most of this with friends (where applicable) on my PS5... no?

So yeah... for someone who is not me who already owns a Series X and has lots of time for game pass... it's a 7/8, or so.
For someone like me that owns a PS5, is definitely playing D4 on PC, and doesn't have time or respect for game pass, it's much closer to a 5.

Why are people so sure that Diablo is not coming to Gamepass? What's the point of even showing the game then?

They kind of went out of their way to call out everything that was Day 1 on GP... did they say the same about D4?
It might be eventually, in any event.
