The crazy thing is that this is where Xbox Series X should shine

People keep talking about Miles Morales on PS5, but I haven't seen anything more on that yet. Was something released that showed anything beyond the reveal trailer? I honestly have no idea if I'm missing something or not here.

Well now that we know there is likely a pc version coming, it should be automatically demoted based on this forum standard for all games developed for any platform that isn't next gen.

I mean really, every ms 1st party game that has been developed for more than just series x has been given this status so why not every sony one as well? Perhaps now, with the blinders off, we can put aside the garbage arguement that developing for more than one platform means a game cannot be true next gen.

And don't start with the lame arguement that a pc version doesn't get held back as much as say a xbox one version, since pc versions have to reach back across a broad spectrum of old hardware to sell well. (And always do)

I would love, really, and play it in Christmas time :) Off Topic, any news about the secret project with Cerny behind it ?

I'm a simple man, I have nothing to do with Sony in person except buying many of their products with my cash. :lollipop_tears_of_joy:

Stop that BS right there, please.

PSB: PlayStation is no stranger to publishing titles on the PC, but Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of the largest games to make that leap. Is there anything you would say to PlayStation fans? What does it mean for the future?
HH: Sure. I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on.

And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.

This game looks NEXT-GEN!!

The graphics, the amounts of stuff happening at once on screen, particle effects, the enemy models look like CGI, the motion blur quality is the best ever, all that with Ray Traced Reflections too! The dimensions stuff is wonderful, it really has that NEXT-GEN feel to it like I have never seen before, and you can even see Subsurface Scattering to every skin of NPCs & monsters, it's unbelievable! Oh and it has a 60 FPS mode with 4K Reconstruction technique similar to how it was for Ratchet & Clank on PS4 Pro as DF said "it looks like a Native 4K image."

Oh and this new build looks BETTER than the older build as NXGamer NXGamer has analyzed and has much more accurate RT reflections.

Only Sony can show true next-generation gaming while the other can't show a game running on their hardware!

Actually, no. On paper PS5 has the avantage of triangles, pixel performance (particles and transparencies) and higher quality RT (more rebounds) with fewer rays. XSX should shine on number of textures, higher resolution and more rays (will less rebounds, so lower quality).

Xbox Series X still should shine when it come to using compute for particles.

Maybe. But it's more complicated. They are going to use async compute for that. Well the ACE engine runs about 20% faster on PS5 and the PS5 has more L2 (and most probably L1) cache by CU so the efficiency will be better on PS5 because latency will be lower.

I still expect XSX to have the advantage in compute heavy games, but when there are particles, usually there are plenty of transparencies and things to rasterize.

It's crazy... If you had told me in 2002 that, in the future, Ratchet and Clank would be generating more buzz than a Halo game I wouldn't have believed it.

It's crazy how far this series has come!

Sony have completely outsmarted Microsoft. It started with the Lumen In The Land of Nanite UE5 demo which captured everyone’s imaginations and gave people a first look into what fast asset streaming can do. After this Xbox fans could not stop hounding Epic representatives to confirm if Series X could run the demo.

Now with Ratchet and Clank, it literally looks 2 generations ahead of Halo Infinite. At this point you have to feel bad for Xbox. The best software is running on the weaker of the two consoles. And it’s happening constantly.

I like that with the ps5 loading has become non-existent when you switch dimensions/location. I can imagine if it was made with the ps4 it'll be like Anthem.

I think your avatar should reflect that not only Craig is a shame, all the characters in the reveal were, so I added his boss in the frame at the back.

Imagine feeling pain from something you can enjoy and afford, can't understand that myself. It's a cult mentality as it seems.

A lot of the haters can’t afford it. That’s part of the reason they sit around on Internet forums and cry about it. Give them a PS5 and launch games for free and their attitude would do a 180 real quick lol.

See that's the kind of shit I don't want in my thread. I bet you not a single Sony gamer will discuss this game in my thread.

No one gives a flying fuck about your opinion, your thread or the potential videos about your psychopathic obsession against Sony first party games so do us all a favour and piss off.

Finally got to watch the trailer on my 4k big screen. Game looks fantastic but man the AI looks absolutely brain dead.. like stand there and do nothing brain dead. Hope was like this to show off the graphics. I played through the last R&C and I can't remember if the AI was more engaged or not.

Wait so your using a March 10th article to refute new information that just came out in August? That makes sense. I mean you know, there is zero chance a large company could change a policy in 5 months. 🙄

Ok bring an official statement mentioning PS5 games that are coming to PC, not some pseudo insider BS.

"a true next-gen game"?

It's the ONLY next-gen game I've seen this far, all the other games are unimpressive as hell whether is GT, Godfall, Horizon, Demon Soul's, even Astro...and let's not even talk about Halo...

To be honest, if that's true for some, then I won't laugh at them at all, but feel sorry and hope they manage to get a PS5 and enjoy their time. I only laugh at those who spend thousands on PC's then to play WOW and nude mods on old games and never buy new games at launch, then feed the biggest scam in gaming history (Star Citizen) $300 Million! Also those who have xbox and could've just bought PS instead and enjoyed quality time instead of waiting for E3 every year.

Never played a Ratchet game but this makes me want to. Looks absolutely amazing.

Ratchet games are really easy to pick up and have fun. Plus there’s a touch of charm and humor to them that is the icing on the cake. You will not regret picking this one up.

RT reflections in this are a little odd they seem to miss certain objects, but they're not just SS or Cubemaps either

More than likely it's a mixture, some mobile stuff like main protagonists and the enemies, along with some effects, are raytrace reflected, some effects like that purple portal isn't raytraced so it doesn't show up. It's a pre-alpha build and it's more than likely to address those in the final build. The rest seem to be cubemapped which is smart and performance efficient. We need smart usage of RT as we only saw real raytracing in 2018 in gaming, it's still a new and taxing tech. But with some smart, efficient ray tracing methods like this, software-based:

They are now working on real-tile raytracing on smartphones! Sony seemed to have made a deal with them, as they've mentioned one console, and they've shown Spiderman mockup, and it's a property of Sony and Marvel.

Most demos are played on easy, or even sub-easy mode to demonstrate the game. Expect better experience as the PS4 was pretty nicely done in terms of fun and difficulty.

Re 60 fps option.. the videos we've watched are, i assume, 30 fps.. did anyone at any point think there was something disappointingly sluggish about anything? It looks incredible, fast, slick.. surely this challenges the next gen narrative about 60 fps. Metroid Prime was locked to 60fps.. it's just not so all-important~~~

60fps minimum is extremely important when you're playing FPV and car games. 60fps is a good option for other games but not critical. I always choose graphics over framerates for 3rd person view games on the PS4 Pro, and framerates if it's FPV like Borderlands 3.
