RTX 4070 to cost $599. Launches April 13.

I’m convinced that Nvidia no longer gives a shit about selling GPUs.
They’d rather sell fewer “90” level cards at high markups, and the price is either take it or leave it. They’re moving on to AI and other big money projects.
I feel like Nvidia is okay with surrendering the lower end of the market (anything under a 4080) to AMD or Intel. Same way Apple doesn't make a budget phone.

But what AMD cards? Where are they?

Lisa‘s adding the VRAM as we speak

Nvidia will likely release 4060 and 4050 before AMD launches a mid-low end card that alone shows that Nvidia haven't given up.

The lower end market matters a lot, take a look at the Steam Hardware Survey, in the top ten most cards are Nvidia 50 and 60 series.

It's AMD who has given up. Their cheapest current gen card has an MSRP of $899...

You do realize I posted a video with similar gains when you yourself said and I quote "barely" has the same performance as the high end 3x series which was false and you've proven wrong. Are you a fucking idiot? Dont answer that, it's rhetorical. Funny how you also avoided the DLSS3 discussion :) Also a 3090 is at almost double the price of a 4070TI right now on amazon. SO you're paying almost 100% of the price for 5% performance over a 4070TI and with DLSS3 on which 3090's dont have, you lose almost 50% performance vs a 4070TI. All facts. But yeah,go ahead and buy a 3090 and be a fucking moron. And for people crying about prices, fucking hell, inflation has been here for 2 years, how the fuck are you all still expecting GPU prices to be the same as 6 years ago? Jesus. No wonder gaf is a minority. You know what, it's easier if I just block stupid ppl. Hardware threads are a mess and full of bs informations.

I hope it's true...

Hmm, at least it keeps the same bus and ram at the 4070ti. I expected a price increase over the 3070. If it's 3080 territory and FE's are actually available, not bad, maybe even decent. If FE's are unicorns otoh...

I'm genuinely curious what your definition of barely is. These are nearly 3 year old cards you're comparing to and you're arguing 10% doesn't qualify as barely. I ignored DLSS3 because there aren't anywhere near enough supporting games for it to matter. Much like the cadence of DLSS 1.0, you'll likely be looking at 5XXX or 6XXX cards before it's somewhat regularly supported, assuming AMDs open source FSR version doesn't effectively obsolete it in terms of developer uptake. The just released RE4 doesn't even support DLSS2 for example, opting for the platform agnostic FSR instead.

Looking at some of the AIB leaks it looks like there will be lower power 2 slot variants of this, maybe those will hang closer to MSRP. And then the usual shoe-box OC designs will move the price up.

When Budget costs more than a PS5!

Budget is 4050 and below, though I say that and they'll then release a $400 4050 next and I'll have to kick my own arse.

It wouldn’t surprise me. Nvidia’s leaving the mid/low bulk of PC gamers market to whomever wants it.
I think it’s going to be Intel in the long run.

The 4050 appears to only have a 96bit bus, and judging from laptop positioning, won't even match a 12GB 3060. I'd hope they wouldn't push the price up much for that one. LOL

Not much hope for amd, here. They could have released a 7900XT for $900 and a 7900 for $750 but noooooooo. Had to dick around chasing nvidia pricing. Now their current marked-down 7900XT just trades dollar for dollar blows with the overpriced 4070ti. So stupid.

And wtf is taking so long for the 7600 and 7700? Is something wrong? Will the mono die be great and reveal some engineering failure of the mcm N31? Are they going to offer 10 or 12gb in the 7600's? Are they really going to have apu's that take a step towards becoming the new low end? So many questions.

TBF, AMD had a glut of 6xxx card(as did Nvidia in their 3xxx cards)s. They've actually been rebating(unless their AIB partners are taking losses) cards. 6xxx cards from them are pretty cheap now. I think I read that the mid-grade 7xxx cards are to be announced this summer.

That 7800/7800XT pricing will be interesting to watch. Hopefully it's 16GB VRAM.

The markdown for the 6000's back before the holidays was nice. I fealt like it just brought the prices to what they should have been in the first place. When that happenned, I waited a bit till that hit the used market and I did end up buying an rdna2 card and I'm quite happy with it!

Isn't that 200 dollars too much? It is the only Nvidia card that would come into question for me. But I would wait and see how AMD reacts to it and a price reduction.
Yup, should be $399.

PC Gaming a real mess these days between outrageous hardware prices and shitty ports.

Of course it’s always been more $ but I genuinely think that dropping $500 on PS5/XSX will actually be an overall better experience today. No shader bullshit, stuttering, or asshole launchers. Plus HDR that actually works

It seems this generation of cards will be a transition from crypto/shortage insanity to normality (5000 series). I'm going to hold my 2070 Super a bit longer.

These cards need more VRAM.

So a 6 gb buffer... Oof, that's rough even at 1080p.

That's why I think they will leave the price alone on this one or potentially even lower it in comparison to the 3050. 4050 might be them taking a shot at getting the 1050/1650 buyers to jump on something new, maybe this is only $199 or $249 GPU (actual price). I can't see how they could sell a 6GB card otherwise.

What you might see is a bit more price separation between models. Especially the 4060ti and 4060.

Imagine people who bought a fucking 1080 ti 8 years ago for 599$ and they still can play games on high settings 60 fps now. Todays gpu market is a joke
I bought my 1080 for like $500 and I'm still using it in 1440p, mostly medium now. Get 45-60. FSR helps.

It hurts.

AMD still ain't said anything official yet. No announcement, no release date....nada........

GPU prices totally out of control.

But then what isn’t nowadays?
NAND & DDR4. 5 to a lesser degree.

6 years - March 2017, and $699 RRP IIRC but otherwise describes me. Unfortunately either the drivers have a bug or my 1080 Ti is showing very early signs it is going to die, which will result in 0 fps. Thoughts, likes and prayers appreciated.

Back to work for me. Good luck with this shitshow, PCGAF.

GPU experts - how much better is this than a 3070 or a 1660 ti? I am stuck with a 1660ti. Is it just worth waiting for a 4070 at this point? I almost gotten a 3090.

I will stick to my 3080 for now, I'm still good for 1440p and VR gaming for a little while right!? I mean a lot of people still rocking lower 10 series cards. Is my card really that awful?
