I mean in context I guess it's ok. Still, feels $100 too much. This won't do 4K of course. At least it has 12GB. Expected Nvidia to put 8 or 10.

If the 4060 costs 500$ and has 8BG VRAM, i guess an extra 100 for the perf boost and +4GB will be a better deal.

But still pretty bad.

I was expecting 8 gigs of memory being nvdia, so I guess not terrible? They should print that on the box.

Isn't that 200 dollars too much? It is the only Nvidia card that would come into question for me. But I would wait and see how AMD reacts to it and a price reduction.
AMD will lose in RT by over 20%, doesn't have DLSS3, and probably uses more power.

AMD needs to be a lot more competitive on pricing, but I just don't see it happening when their cheapest current gen card was such a joke in terms of value.

I could see 4060 at $400, and 4060 Ti at $500 if 4070 at $600 is true.

"GeForce RTX 4070 MSRP to match RTX 3070 Ti"

Which mean from 3070 to 4070 you get a 8% performance increase 2 years later for the same price.

Or you can also say your get a 100$ rebate on a 3070Ti
4070 should be 20% faster than 3070 Ti, and it comes with 4 GB extra VRAM, and it has DLSS3, and it uses less power.

They kept the 12GB which is good. Its going to sell a lot i reckon and this will be what most people will buy for 1440p/1080p gaming which is the majority.

PC Gamer

Has enormous collection of anime/manga. Cosplays as waifu.
People pour money on microtransactions and purchase limited edition games for several hundred bucks each... but $599 for a GPU is somehow outrageous.

$599 is not great but not terrible either. Hope it has similar performance to 3080 ti.

The 4070Ti is only barely competitive with the high end 3XXX's and the 4070 is a 35%+ cut down of that. Realistically you're probably going to be looking at a multi game average somewhere between a 3070Ti and 3080.

In all honesty, i thought it will cost 699$. Graphics card prices are insane nowadays. So 599$ is a surprise to me.

At least that is a noteworthy reduction from 3080 pricing, assuming that the card can match the 3080 in real world performance. $50 better than I figured tbh.

Certainly not as big of a reduction in cost between generations as we've had previously, but considering the way Nvidia has been going it is something.

Stop posting bs.

Also have you heard of this amazing thing called DLSS3? Yeah, with it, it surpasses all 3x series. So will the base 4070.

You do realize you just posted a video showing at best 10% gains and 10% losses Vs. a 3090? You also realize there's only a 15% spread on average between a base 3080 and 3090Ti as they're all the same GA102 die? So thanks for supporting my point I guess? Again, the 4070 is a 37% cut down of the 4070Ti.

The 3080 will be a few months shy of 3 years old when this launches, so congrats, you waited 3 years to save $100.

everything in the 4000 series is 1-3 hundred dollars overpriced
The 4080 is overpriced to hell and back and I'm saying that as an owner this damn card should be half off. If it weren't for the fact I sold a bunch of old gaming stuff I had lying around, Christmas gift cards and selling my old GPU only coming out around 300 for an upgrade myself I wouldn't have touched this card. I wouldn't bought a 3090 used, but it's really telling that you can buy one cheaper than a 4070 ti due to the the mining fears

It suppose to be the 4060 but instead they named it 4070 for 600 no thanks Nvidia. Too expensive. Amd is loosing their sight too in the gpu market. They should lower the price at least by $50 less in all the gpu.

4070 only lost 20% cores from 4070 Ti.

Yeah percentages depend on which direction you calculate from. So the correct statement would be that the 4070Ti has 30% more cores, and 37% more teraflops than the 4070 (as the 4070Ti also has higher clock speeds).

still overpriced, but at least in the "feasible" category for me..although it's like 200 euros more than the last series 70 i bought back in the day

It's not much of a victory, at all lol

True, but it's modern day Nvidia, really the entire modern GPU market, we are talking about. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I wouldn't ever expect much more than this going forward tbh. I don't see how AMD will get the 7800 positioned that much better, not with the price they still have on 7900 series.

You do realize I posted a video with similar gains when you yourself said and I quote "barely" has the same performance as the high end 3x series which was false and you've proven wrong. Are you a fucking idiot? Dont answer that, it's rhetorical. Funny how you also avoided the DLSS3 discussion :) Also a 3090 is at almost double the price of a 4070TI right now on amazon. SO you're paying almost 100% of the price for 5% performance over a 4070TI and with DLSS3 on which 3090's dont have, you lose almost 50% performance vs a 4070TI. All facts. But yeah,go ahead and buy a 3090 and be a fucking moron. And for people crying about prices, fucking hell, inflation has been here for 2 years, how the fuck are you all still expecting GPU prices to be the same as 6 years ago? Jesus. No wonder gaf is a minority. You know what, it's easier if I just block stupid ppl. Hardware threads are a mess and full of bs informations.
