The only saving grace for me was Silksong's presence.

The two biggest games disappointed me: Redfall and Starfied. They do not look current-gen exclusives at all. No Avowed, Contraband, or Helbllade 2, which is surprising to me.

Cocoon looks good but it is third-party timed. Silksong is amazing, and GP day one is a win. But other than that, it was a very disappointing show for me personally. There wasn't any new big XGS game announcement either.

I hope they have more to show soon: especially for Avowed and Hellbade 2 as well as new AAA first-party game announcements.

Edit: Forgot. But Diablo's showcase was very good. It is multi though.

I consider that a good showing or enough slices from the whole show to make it worth my while. With Forza Motosport, Plague Tale, Diablo IV, Starfield and Scorn being really good showings while the more divisive stuff like Redfall, Ara, Ravenlok and Wo Long gave me enough to monitor how they go.

I have just started playing the evil within 2 a few days ago in fact, i think the game is incredible.

When i saw the start of the show, with the clock tower i thought that's the evil within 3, then they had that annoying character talking with the purple gun, to my major disappointment it was Redfall. Dammit

I'll be brutally honest. It bored the shit out of me. Not only that, but it has only reinforced my believes that I've fallen out of love with gaming.

Nothing in that show got my heart pumping. Not even Starfield got me hard.

It's actually something I have been feeling for awhile.
This constant push for diversity in gaming (and I'm not talking about SJW shit) has made a greater majority of games that just don't mix with me. It's like the push to include every single person's interests, personality type and art style has pushed out the old school core gamer.
The glory days of gaming I think has passed.

What I expected from the moment they said that they would only show games that would come out within 12 months...... There my illusion to see important things fell to the ground.

That said, there is no doubt about one thing... GAMEPASS . It's unbelievable and unheard of that they can throw so much on the service. Many great games announced.

To highlight... Personally Forza looks incredible. Forza Horizon DLC Hotwheels as well.

Starfield has not disappointed me and it will be a Hit.

Diablo IV looks amazing

RedFall is an Arkane game. Until you play it you don't know how good it is and it rarely disappoints.

And what remains is the feeling that MS/XBOX has saved a lot for, surely, Quakecom, Gamescom, TGAwards.

Supposedly all games in the next 12 Months. Huge surprises like Kojima, Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2. Many of the indie games looked gorgeous and fun to play too and since they all will be free with game pass day one, it's basically insane value.

There was a few disappointments like no info on halo Infinite story DLC etc.

I think it was a nice show if you already are in Xbox/Gamepass ecosystem, a solid 8.
But it didn't made me 'jump in'.
On a side note if you have a Xbox you must have a Gamepass, it's a no brainer.
Hot take: next year or in 2024 it'll be Gamepass/Bethesda/ABK(?) Showcase.

And Kojima + cloud can be good, but I'm on the fence whenever 'cloud' is important/maybe fundamental for a game...

Starfield looks like a mix between Fallout and Mass Effect …or The Outer Worlds 2. I love it.

I don’t dig the 1000 worlds part. That suggests a lot of filler.

Starfield is a fall 2023 game for sure. It will probably only run at 60fps on the next Xbox/PC.

That 95 minute show was 65 minutes too long.

Forza - fine. It’s not breaking new ground for the genre but it looks nice.

Diablo 4 - good. But that’s multiplat and not a GP game, so not really a big plus for MS even though it was on their show.

Starfield - ok looks like a lot of space games and the performance looked rough, but sure it could be good. Oh and again - extended “gameplay” amounted to about 3 minutes with jump cuts and padded out with cutscenes.


And negative points for trotting out Kojima for no reason at all.

Everything else was totally forgettable indie looking stuff - perfect gamepass fodder, not what I want to see in a major gaming company’s marquee event.

This should’ve been 30 minutes max and it would have been a better show as a result.

But, given where MS are this was nowhere near enough. Basically Christmas is empty this year for them and it seems they had no plan before launch of Xsex to actually have any games for the first 3 years at least.

Yeah they’ve bought Bethesda - but that was after Xsex launch - starfield was coming to Xbox regardless of that and it’s still delayed.

The other studios - all MIA. I hope that $1 GP deal can be extended because I feel ripped off that these promised games from MS first parties are nowhere to be seen.

Focusing on the next 12 months is a good call rather than endless cgi trailers of games we wont actually play for 2 to 5 years.
The format was good - a constant stream of gameplay and game after game - no standing on a stage with a dev talking for ages.
I didnt see many games that looked bad - I would at least try the majority of them.

Starfield - no denying this is the game everyone will be playing and talking about for the next few years. Its going to be huge.
Redfall - looks like someone finally is going to evolve everything Left4Dead set up all those years ago. Across between L4D, Overwatch, in the creative wild worlds of Psychonauts. The gameplay sold me.
Forza Motorsport - just looking at it cold but this seems so far beyond the competition. All the way down to hyper detailed stuff like tire temperature. This game will be a system seller on its own. Hopefully they can get the single player campaign right for once.

Persona finally making it to Xbox is super appreciated - as was Phil Spencer's section specifically focused on getting more Japan games back on Xbox. As someone whose been vouching for that for years - this was noticed.

Pentiment and Wo Long looked great. Lastly, Ravenlok looked like the sleeper of the show - a mix between new stylized and pixelated graphics - really unique.

This was literally the next 12 months of 90 percent game pass games you get as your sub....I just can't see how it's not a top class show.

You think Microsoft go out and make these game pass deals and then not show them to the public? I saw a serious handful of games I'll be checking out day one. Thought it was a top tier show. Easily an 8 as a minimum imo.

Plenty of games shown, plenty I have no interest in.
Forza Motorsport, Plagues Tale, that Japanese zombie game and Starfield are the stand outs for me.

Incredible showcase for gamepass, MS killed it on that front. Not only for all the value that will be coming for 2023 but also for the potential that it displayed (the Riot bonuses are a glimpse of how gamepass could become essential if MS plays their cards right)

Some nice surprises such as D4 gameplay, Forza looked awsome and the persona partnership.

Hand on heart I was disappointed. For the most powerful console I’m not seeing it with the games. For someone who isn’t a first person guy either there was a lot of them .

I get the appeal for gamepass, it’s very good value .TMNT next week for example already saving money.

I thought Starfield looked rough too, particularly those facial animations and if they said RedFall was 1X footage i wouldn’t of questioned it.

No major first party release all year or is that the likes of Scorn?

I want those PlayStation cinematic ,technically impressive games and i am not seeing it from them at all.

Each is own but enough is enough for me .
