The SPE archive that went live on Wednesday includes an easy to use key-word and Boolean search function for combing through the 30,287 documents and 173,132 emails. The material ranges from highly proprietary corporate information — the nitty gritty on talent deal points, TV license fees, profit participation splits and earnings of various SPE units — to highly personal email exchanges and sensitive, security-compromising employee data.

Guys, they read our posts.

Hey,
I am heading to Tokyo, I will be back Saturday. I am going to try and bring back a little plumber. I guess we can all use our pipes cleaned. Just to make sure, are you interested in Pokemon which is the other property I am working on with Nintendo? Looking forward to our big, big, big project. xo

Looks like Avi Arad is/was also pursuing the rights to Pokemon.

District 9 game? And Andrew House can't spell Xbox.

RE: District 9 10 11
Amy,

Happy to talk about this. One key point for consideration is the choice of gane developer.
Assuming Peter would want the widest audience for the game component, he would want a multi-platform
developer like EA or Activision able to publish across PS, PC and X-box as well as mobile. Our
teams would be ruled out as they work only on PS with a little mobile recently.

In any case let's set a time to talk so I can understand the concept better and provide a proper
perspective.

Next week is tough due to the (20+) budget meetings but the week following would be great.

Have a great weekend,

Andy

Hope this email finds you well. I know we have talked a bit in the past about expanding on he
district 9 franchise
Through out the Sony corporation and I have been pushing Neil Blomcamp and Peter Jackson and they
just hadn't been ready. The guys at spt wanted to turn it into a show for the Playstation network
and that didn't make sense to them at the time and I have been pressing Neil to do the sequel to d9
for a couple of years
In the last few days we have had a bit of a breakthrough because Neil has finally seen his way to
developing a movie and a game at the same time that would be inter related and happen at the same
time. Obviously he and peter would want creative control and I'm not sure how that would work with
ps but if one were to give it to anyone they would probably be the ones. I think a television
component would come after that as they are primarily interested in the movie and game first.

You were so helpful in getting the guys at ps to work with Neil on chappe.

I was wondering how you think I might go about approaching this. It could be huge for the company.

And although Neil hasn't given it to me yet he has written a treatment for the story for both the
movie and game

It would be great to talk to you about it when you have a minute

Steve,

I see your point about leakage and am happy to discuss earlier disclosure. I have to be very careful how we position the PSN relationship, especially Plus. The moment non-US PSN/Plus members hear this will not be coming to them, there is the risk of considerable backlash unless we (SCE &

SNE) have a mitigation plan in terms of other content, which is fully our intention.

We just need to take great care on positioning with that in mind.

Andy...wanted to get to you right away....we are f Ing pumped about powers!! From the assistants to the execs this is a dream come true to work with play station...so I want to nail it...Michael mentioned you might want to hold the announcement until e 3 ..I think that would be a mistake...on a practical level once we start bringing in writers and talking to agents it's out there....and we will be playing defense with the press and it will be a lost opportunity....on a strategic level...and I will quote what steve balmer told me in my office...if everyone figures out that you have what all of us want and are chasing...ip ..access to talent and writers..infrastructure...foreign distribution...and figure out a way to work together...it's game

over and we are all chasing you!!! .....we need to seize the moment now...control the message and
make a statement ..and frankly steal a page from the netflix play book ...and let everyone know we
will be a force.....TOGETHER!!! Trust me on this...it's the right thing...we will have more for
you to talk about later...but we need to take a big 1st step...Steve

sent on the run

Steve needs to chill.

Arad got to meet with Iwata.

The conversation that follows is, well, something:
Arad: Happy ceo, lets get together,it's the mother load.
Pascal: Do we get baby peach in there ?
Arad: Peach iis a babe!
Pascal: Let's get gende to do this its soooo perfect for him
Did we already know if Pascal was interested in bringing in Genndy Tartakovsky for the project?
Been procrastinating on actual work and pouring over this all afternoon.

Some things:
—There were talks about Gareth Evans (Raid dude) doing a Golgo 13 adaptation. He and Kaz bonded over their shared admiration of the anime at Raid 2 premiere. Evans is instead doing some Yakuza movie (Blister?) I guess. Evans was on a shortlist of directors who former Sony head Amy Pascal thought Sony "must" make a movie with.
—Ellen Page's people sued Sony because there was an accessible nude model of her in the game.
—Bobby Kotick not a fan of the World of Warcraft movie deal.
—Activision also hates Spider-Man games because they have to pay tens of millions in profits to Sony
—Activision and Atari were in talks(?) for Underworld budget game.
— Bong Joon-ho's Snowpiercer followup described as a cross betweeen E.T. and Dr. Strangelove. About a conflict between vegan activists and a Monsanto type company.
—Mark Cuban threatened to leave Shark Tank or something because he was insulted over deal points.
—Phil Lord/Chris Miller (Sony's favs) were on a wishlist of post-Fincher directors for the Steve Jobs movies along the typical awards season luminaries.
—There's an oddly compelling notes email on a draft of a Candyland script Adam Sandler wrote(?) wherein Pascal complains Sandler's script does not depict school field trips realistically.
—Matthew Vaughn
an asshat I'd like to add
attached to something called Apollo Rising.
—Sony liked Chrissy Hemsworth for Uncharted. Apparently they're developing some Bourne-style movie for him though also too.
—Paul Feig is probs getting $10M+ for Ghostbusters.
— Rupert Wyatt has some idea for a Planet of the Robots trilogy.
—The head of Marvel forwards Israeli security reports to the head of Sony
—When criticizing a Spider-Man 2 draft, one Marvel person dismissively says something would be "ok for comic books, but not for cartoon animation." Apparently there was some confusion post-Amazing Spider-Man at Marvel about whether it was a reboot. Kevin Feige pointed to the difference of the Spider-Man spider bites in both Spidey one movies as evidence that it is definitely a reboot.
—There was talking about contemporizing BioShock for the script of a film.
—Sony was talking to the estate of C.S. Lewis, or as one email puts it: "the Narnia estate."
— Rian Johnson wants to do something original after Star Wars. Sony execs really, really wanted to do a new project with him.
—Gwyneth Paltrow wants to make a movie with Beyonce.
—Paul Greengrass wants to do some western with Daniel Day-Lewis.
— Brad Bird, James Gunn and Joe Cornish were approached for Ghostbusters 3.
—JC Chandor was interested in Channing Tatum's Evil Knievel biopic. Sony approached Spike Jonze as a possible director.
—Brian Helgeland was mulling a remake of The Professionals.
—Sony exec says Splinter Cell is a " movie doesn't feel like it needs to exist"
—Rightsholders of Dr. Seuss's 5000 Fingers of Dr. T wanted to get Spielberg to remake the film. Spielberg was not interested. Apparently they are turning it into a book? Also wanted to Will Ferrell & Steve Carell to star in it and turn it into a franchise.
—Blomkamp wanted to make a found footage horror movie.
—Anne Hathaway was interested in Ghostbusters at one point.
—Blomkamp wanted $1M for closing shot of Chappie. Sony denied this.

I sure hope employee social security #s and such aren't in there. Besides that, it'll be cool if someone can make a summary/bullet point list of all the interesting stuff

Edit: oh wait, they included the "highly personal email exchanges and sensitive, security-compromising employee data" too? That's shitty of them :/

WikiLeaks spokesman Kristinn Hrafnsson would not comment when asked about the impact of the disclosure of sensitive personal information for SPE’s 6,000 employees worldwide. Hrafnsson, who said he was speaking from Reykjavik, Iceland, emphasized that the material had already been widely distributed last winter by the hacker group that billed itself as “#GOP.” The documents were distributed to numerous file-sharing sites online, but had mostly been removed by mid-January.

“This information is of historical importance and should be in the public domain,” Hrafnsson said. “This gives important insight into the inner-workings of this very powerful corporation.”

It's pretty disgusting.
