Why doesn't the PS5 version that costs $10 more come with the PS4 version? That's stupid.
Because why would you play the PS4 version on a PS5? The most logical thing to do is the usual £10 to upgrade from your PS4 copy to PS5 but everyone was moaning about that so .Why doesn't the PS5 version that costs $10 more come with the PS4 version? That's stupid.
The timing of this non-news is amazing. This isn't about Horizon Zero Dawn the game already out and getting a free PS5 patch. This is about the unreleased Horizon Forbidden West which will release with a PS4 and PS5 version separately. Essentially buy the PS5 version like every other PS5 game released so far.I wasn’t aware there was a PS5 version. It was only supposed to be a patch.
Gotta value those UK Sales charts with a max of 8k copies sold.
That will tell shitty nintendo and MS.
Im looking forward to HFW it looks incredible but yeah Sony again not being clear at any point about their message or practices or downright lying.
If you prefer digital and only have a PS4 your only option is $80.Can I make a suggestion to those unhappy with the upgrade path?
Buy the PS4 version (better yet, buy it used after a week or whatever). Beat the game. Sell the PS4 version for almost what you paid for it.
Then, when you actually get a PS5 and want to replay the game, buy it again when it's cheaper.
I really don't understand why people don't just do this. There is no PS4 digital. You're just paying to have a thing sat in a library losing value by the day. Am I missing something?
I dont want a medal from Sony, I want education and discipline for entitled kids.Chill out Sony arnt gonna give you a medal for defending their shitty practices.
Sony will continue to do this because their fans will defend anything they do. After they tried to paint the terrible GOT upgrade path as a positive I realized with a company who has as many loyal fans as sony, its a losing battle to even try to jump into the short term by pointing out bad business practices. They think because they make good games it gives them a pass to have shitty practices.
What about people (like me) who have my big TV set up in the living room with my PS5, and my old PS4 Pro in the den? My gaming time is usually pretty limited, and I never know which TV will be free. I'd like to play the game on both systems (passing back and forth from day to day) but it sounds like I can't do that without buying the ultraspecialuberedition of the game for $80. And even then, it's not understood how exactly those cloud saves are going to work between the two systems since every PlayStation game seems to be different. Can I make a suggestion to those unhappy with the upgrade path?

I sure as hell dont, that's just stupidI know right? When I pick up my Sony games I usually leave the cashier a $20 tip just cause I can.
Peasant talk right there broI sure as hell dont, that's just stupid

The difference is, their might eventually be a free upgrade. That's a weird flex. Nintendo tier disrespect toward your loyal fans.
Psp, ps3 and vita has cross buy years ago. We've gone backwards. There's really no defence for not allowing a consumer to buy all versions for $70. Makes absolutely zero sense.
This would be much appreciated by families with a blend of old and current generation consoles. There's really no defence for not allowing a consumer to buy both versions for $70 at once. Makes absolutely zero sense.
This is pretty bad in my opinion, and the kind of BS that is stopping me getting a PS5 anytime soon, especially compared to how MS do their Smart Delivery
The whole thing is stupid, just pick a price and include all platforms like Microsoft does, be it $60 or $70. This just annoys people.
and it was glorious. PSASBR on Vita and PS3. Sly Thieves in Time on Vita and PS3. Perfect for gameplay on the go and then playing couch co-op like in PSASBRPsp, ps3 and vita has cross buy years ago. We've gone backwards.
Still is.
Remember when this was clowned on as a poor man's attempt at the "how to share games with friends on PS4" video
They did the same with the crossgen crap.Gotcha gamers!
You wont see Sony telling gamers to check out an old blog post before PS5 launched.
If they told gamers PS4 gamers will have to pay $10 upgrading to PS5 editions, gamers would fight back asap.
But charge $10 later on, and hope gamers didn't notice that blog post.
Sure, but then why should I bother even owning a PS5 at that point? In your scenario, I'd be better suited with 2 PS4s. Sony isn't making me feel great about owning a PS5.You can play it on the PS5 though, right? You're just playing the PS4 version on that console and you pay the ten bucks extra for the bells and whistles. Not saying it's a good practice, but it feels disingenuous to say you "can't" just pay for the PS4 version and play it on a PS5. Unless I've missed something big.

Nah fuck that. Sony's policies are dog shit compared to Xbox. The more people are made aware of this the better. Sony policies should be clowned because they're awful.Still is.
Yes the Xbox way of doing things is simpler and easier but ...
The outrage over having PS4 and PS5 versions of games is just dumb. Buy the one you want/need. The pissing and moaning makes no sense.
