I'll pick up a second DualSense controller at launch, so I'm fine with the PS4 controller not being compatible. I thought the camera wouldn't be compatible since there will be a PS5 camera. Nice know it is.
Being grumpy about having to buy two more controllers just to play Sackboy with my family. And another console with zero support to BT headsets is a pain in the ass.
Positive for me, positive for next gen. You can play it on pc with an Atari 2600 joystick if you and your family can’t afford a jump to PS5. That’s the world we live in.
Not sure what you mean regarding features. But yes, PS5 is where it’s at next gen.Okay. So you're fine with PS5 versions of PS5 games having less features than PC versions before the gen has even began?
Great. I've got slightly higher expectations.
It outright states that the DS4 will work with PS4 games.Kinda makes no sense it make it BC friendly (possibly, based on what we know) and not push hardware to make it...BC friendly.
'The Platinum and Gold Wireless Headsets, as well as third-party headsets that connect via USB port or audio jack, will work on PS5'this isn't confirmed yet, Lets wait and see. I do share your same frustration about using custom bt headsets
I mean it is what it is.
Xbox has no new controller features for the new gen.
Playstation does
Will Sony's new features catch on/be worth it? Time will tell.
The way people are going on you'd think not.
Why you would expect new games to support the old controller is beyond me.
If you want the new controllers features to be taken advantage of then it's imperative the devs are untethered from the old controller.
OK sure. The XSX controller has a share button now.

X gonna give it to yaWhen has any console ever supported old controllers for new games? Why would anyone expect this?
Or because there's no reason they couldn't make it work for most, if not all games? They drank Phil’s kool aid
No DS4 support for PS5 games shouldn't be a surprise, the new DualSense features would be useless if developers also had to support the DS4.
Developers wouldn't really be able to invent new gameplay styles that take advantage the microphone or the adaptive triggers, for example.
Or because there's no reason they couldn't make it work for most, if not all games?
The api exists, the work will be done on 95 per cent of games to work on a non-Dualsense controller. Anybody who is happy with this has drank the kool aid, not those of us unhappy.
How does getting new things prevent the old thing from working?Yea yea yea we know “ no gamer left behind“ yada yada
Some of us want new things. Sony caters to us.
Otherwise just get an xbox.
My bad ^^Read the blog.
You are not ready for this cringe:
That is answered in the link I postedwhat does this mean for fightsticks? I have an Etokki Omni that I was hoping I'd be able to use, I don't see why they couldn't make those compatible.

You might as well read the OP.you might as well just have not responded

Lmfaoo okI did read the OP
Lmfaoo ok
Series X is doing with XB1 controllers so I was hoping PS5 would do the same. Not a deal breaker in the slightest though. When has any console ever supported old controllers for new games? Why would anyone expect this?
Maybe lead your post with "site blocked here, can you please post all of the contents in the article" instead of being snarky. Or you could have read through this thread in which case your question was already it seems. You asked and I directed you. Lead better next time. Besides, it's etiquette NOT to post an entire article on a forum. This is why I ended my post with "more at the link"LMFAO maybe gaming sites are blocked for some of us and we would appreciate if you pasted the contents of the link into your OP
Any word on if the back attachment thing is compatible with the dual sense?

Yes blowing into your controller is innovationYeh this is what happens when you fail to innovate.
Everything stays the same.
It's supported for PS4 games. Maybe that lessened the impact for most people.Depressing that people don't realise why DS4 not working on PS5 games is such a slap in the face. Yes, you get one controller bundled in. Wanna play multiplayer? Got a controller that's functionally identical? Fuck you, buy a new one for $70+.
The DualSense has fancy feedback, what it doesn't have is any sort of new input that new games might demand.
You could use a PS1 controller on a PS2 for many games because they were the same thing. Some had compatibility issues but there was no global policy.
You couldn't use a PS2 controller on a PS3 because of Sixaxis.
You couldn't use a PS3 controller on a PS4 because of the touchpad/button.
You can't use a PS4 controller on a PS5 because of greed. Buy what you like, but stop defending it like it's not total horseshit.
I believe it has to do with their patents of being able to "create" playable areas of games, uploading/sharing it with friends to help you and or for demo purposes.
I'm curious as to why Sony changed the naming of their button.
