Incredibly unlikely and likely to not even matter before long anyway unfortunately.I hope they replace him with someone who will tone down or better yet remove Sony's censorship of japanese games.

First thing i'll do is sack Herman and close media molecule and cancel all the PC ports
Then i'll deal with Phil
I was very wrong then... but still, Phil looks much younger to me
What the heck? Did he kill his entire tribe? Why's he acting this way?
I am guessing your sarcasm detection meter is broken beyond fixing...get better dreams
GoodFirst thing i'll do is sack Herman
Cool.and close media molecule and
Nice.cancel all the PC ports
I am with you. Then i'll deal with Phil

But the Gollum game never came to Gamepass. So much for "Sauron" Spencer.Aging more or less stopped for Phil after he gained possession of the One Ring.
Maybe something bad was found when they got hacked?
Jason schrier finally with good news for once.
Bye Jimbo, will never forgive you for
- trying to pass off Horizon, miles and gt7 as next Gen.
- making horizon, miles, gt7 and gow last Gen
- turning god tier Sony first party into a gaas machine
- raising ps+ prices
- $70 games
- ps5 price increases
- horizon next Gen upgrade scam
- ps vita and ps3 store closings
The last three you walked back because they blew up in your face. Good to see Sony still has some accountability.
palystation rotates their leaders pretty often. i wouldn't read this as a sign of anything tbhDamn...they said Phil would step down / get fired first
We all know the first thing you'll do(we would all do)...First thing i'll do is sack Herman and close media molecule and cancel all the PC ports

Correction 55, according to Google he was born in 1968.That makes more sense. He looks like he's in his 60s. He doesn't look 53.
p.s. In which case, never mind about the early retirement thing. Sounds like he's normal retirement age.
Neither would I, the irony is there tho lolpalystation rotates their leaders pretty often. i wouldn't read this as a sign of anything tbh

Can't imagine it'll be Hermen Hulst, he's doing a good job as head of Playstation Studios.
Wonder who will replace him?

New Management Structure of Sony Interactive Entertainment
New Management Structure of Sony Interactive Entertainment
(September 28, 2023, Tokyo / September 27, San Mateo, CA) – Sony Group Corporation and Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) today announced that SIE President and CEO Jim Ryan has made the decision to retire in March 2024 after almost thirty years with the PlayStation business. To support Mr...sonyinteractive.com
Bring back Jack Tretton.
Or better yet, Kevin Butler. I miss fun Sony.
You could be right, but I wonder if he'll be up for the task as CEO of Playsation. If I were a betting man, I'd bet it will be Hulst.
What's wrong? He did a great job making sure great games released, despite the covid pandemic.
Wait. wtf!?!

Pretty sure Jim is in his 60s lol he looks way older than 55, that website posted earlier also said hes american but hes actually British.
Bloomberg said in their article that he is 63.

Legit question, why?- Cancel all PC ports
Legit question, why?
I'm really confused by this. I see multiple replies in this thread having this stance, or mocking people who like PC ports, and I don't really understand why. It doesn't change anything for people playing on ps5, it stays the same for you.
The only thing it does is that it lets more people play the game on a different platform, which only seems like a positive thing.
I don't understand how it can be viewed as a problem when it doesn't change anything to you.
Sounds about right, he's probably yearning for a well earned rest.
Pretty sure no one even read what the man said, but he states its been hard to reconcile working in US but living in europe, hes probably super tired.
Tretton is a boss. Bring his ass back.
Don't care about their Gaas push, they are hiring studios that wouldn't have worked on SP games anyways, its not taking away from their SP studios. If these gaas games can help fund other games its a win for PS.
They should keep expanding as they are, and buy Square Enix while you're at it. Square with Sony's full support will be banger after banger.
Otherwise it's business as usual. Foster talent, small games, big games, third party and first party. Sony knows how to win.
Winner.Legit question, why?

Who knows?Really don't wanna entertain that possibility but damn, the timing between that and this is a bit something itnnit?
Probably less than 5% chance it's related to anything with the ransomware hack tho.
TBH, you'd be lucky if one of those comes true. Here is what I want the next PS CEO to do:
- Fire Herman
- Cancel all GaaS games
- Cancel all PC ports
- Have all current PC studios work as support studios ensuring faster game releases.
- Cancel PS Premium
- Drop PS5 Price to $399
- Rehire the Days Gone leads and have Bend work on Days Gone 2
- Rehire the Japanese studios team.
- Move Sony headquarters back to Japan. No more woke nonsense stemming from their San Mateo HQs and LA studios.
- Model themselves after Nintendo. Focus on your own hardware and first party exclusives. Focus on single player games. Stop chasing trends, and just put in the work.
- Double ND, GG, SSM, Sucker Punch, Bend and Insomniac workforce. Stop buying studios and just hire everyone from studios Embracer is shutting down then have them work for your A tier studios and Insomniac.
cancelling all gaas is a bit extreme, since sony has zero multiplayer games right now. but i hope the next ceo rethinks some of jim's ideas. i think everything else on that list sounds good to me. Jim's been terrible, but investing in a bunch of gaas right before MS buys overwatch and call of duty seems like a pretty smart move. Here is what I want the next PS CEO to do:

Hermen ain't getting a CEO position anytime soon, he only barely got an important role in the company. Lin Tao (Senior Vice President of SIE) is my guess, she's been working there since 2001.If I were a betting man, I'd bet it will be Hulst.
Why is that exactly? What direction do you think Jim should have taken?Personally didn't like the way PS was trending under him, I think this is a good thing for PS
