Jason schrier finally with good news for once.

Bye Jimbo, will never forgive you for
- trying to pass off Horizon, miles and gt7 as next Gen.
- making horizon, miles, gt7 and gow last Gen
- turning god tier Sony first party into a gaas machine
- raising ps+ prices
- $70 games
- ps5 price increases
- horizon next Gen upgrade scam
- ps vita and ps3 store closings

The last three you walked back because they blew up in your face. Good to see Sony still has some accountability.

Literally the opitomy of inheriting greatness.

Glad there's a Japanese person taking over.

I don't think Jim did anything. Have we even seen any games he signed off?

Well we know he didn't sign off on Days Gone 2.

That's a war crime.

Sony does seem to churn through CEOs must be a stressful role

The fanbase is demanding, unlike certain other ones.

Depends on who’s replacing him, I always thought Shawn Layden was decent for PlayStation, someone like that would be nice.

I had hoped Xbox brought some new faces in to replace Spencer and co but chances are they would just promote one of his lackeys and the same shite persists.
I miss Shawn Layden and Andrew House. Those were legends along with Jack Tretton. Kaz had his time too.

PS has a chance at actually getting me to buy a PS6. I havent used my PS5 for a lot more than Demon's Souls. Guess we'll see what this new guy's vision is in 4-5 years.

I wonder what the fruits of Ryan will actually look like until then. Might be fine? Might be rough? I have no idea.

I highly doubt that the GaaS projects they've announced so far will be canceled or anything, those will come out. I do wonder if they might shift that focus though, but don't get your hopes up too much.

Hope this means we'll get less 3rd person cinematic games because I'm fucking tired of them and maybe cancel like half of those 10+ GAAS games they have in development because what the actual hell.

apparently Destin doesn’t have access to press releases, or just wants to insinuate to the Xbox fanbase that follows him that they’ve defeated the big bad Jim Ryan? 🤔

The poor guy is so desperate to make it about Xbox.

What he fails to realise is the fact that Xbox are in a worse place now than they were in when Jimbo took over the reigns. That takes some doing.

Honestly, I think this is just him retiring of his age. His been at Sony forever. But I am happy that his stepping down, its good that a Japanese company will now have a Japanese leader/CEO here is a picture of the new individual taking over.

New meme material. Can't wait to see him on new weird gif.

Absolute giant of the industry whose work in Europe was probably the defining reason Playstation became a global success.

He leaves PS in rude health, say what you want about his decisions since taking the helm.

I do hope that someone from Japan keeps the job. A little Japanese quirkiness would benefit the brand.

Congrats Jimbo

I'm not here to win. I'm here to have fun enjoying the hobby. I haven't had much since he was in charge. They don't try to get me interested anymore. State of Play has more in common with watching an HR presentation at work than it does with an E3 stage show.
you clearly don’t remember all the charts and statistics that used to be part of E3 presentations 🤨

It would be wild to see PS fans go back to discussing games and fun instead of just sales numbers. I think a tiny part of that is from the culture at the top.

Hearing this made my awful ass week a bit better. Hope this means some games I'll actually want to play get the greenlight in the future.
