The stump doesn't jive with me - I know it's supposed to represent the top of a hat, but then you'd have to wonder why a Pokemon would be carrying a stump on their head in the first place.

I don't know why everyone is hung up on this circus thing

Poppilo sort of looks like a clown but the others don't really and Rowlet's description seems more like a ninja or assassin or some shit what with how it attacks with powerful kicks and can attack/move around silently. Don't know why a pokemon with that kind of description would become a circus themed pokemon

It really was. I remember i was on class when the thread was booming, and i kinda had to contain the laughter at the reactions. It was exciting too, as every new gen is.

Since gen4 i think i've never been surprised again, and i kinda miss it, but hey, in this day and age is quite inevitable to avoid the spoilers. Specially facebook people bitching about the new designs.

I remember how hopeless was the chesnaught reveal. Like, we were all waiting expectantly, and then one of the early copy dudes uploaded that low quality picture of it... and well, the amount of people that jumped to #teamFroakie was incredible.

So I don't watch Etika, but his video of the potential leaked types popped up on recommended and has way more restraint than that collective shit Pokemon community on YouTube. Fucking Etika, the guy that plays overreaction and runs on every kind of news for his audience!

I quite like the stump, the thing that's throwing me off is the waistcoat. It should look more natural as a part of it's body than an actual straight up waist coat. I just dislike pokes who are wearing clothes haha

So I hate to even entertain this but that synchro bullshit in the anime is probably why customization is back and why we see the enemy trainer in the background now.

I really doubt this will be a thing in the games. They aren't going to have as many model designs for each Pokemon as there are customisation options for trainers, which means at best there would be a few pre-set body parts of each Pokemon that change colour based on your hat or something. Alol. I don't see what it would add at all, and it'd be completely at odds with the Mega Evolution mechanic, too.

Nah, it's anime only imo. They wanted Greninja to stay at the forefront, but couldn't justify having it winning against Mega Evolutions all the time (plus it would kinda cheapen the transformation if a regular Pokemon keeps beating them), and they didn't have (or didn't want to show off) the Mega Evolution for Greninja this early, so they came up with this instead.

Maybe but Ash not using a mega evolution at all sounds like a lame missed opportunity for the anime.

Also I just checked in it's progress, Snowbelle? Jesus Kalos had the least memorable gyms ever.

Are you talking about Ash-Greninja in Shuffle, or is there something else? I wouldn't really say that means anything at all, though. Ash-Greninja is merchandisable obviously, so TPC promoting it in Shuffle and other ways makes sense. It's also not really using the same mechanic at all in Shuffle. You just play a level themed around it.

There's a spinoff manga with the trainer-fusion thing, I believe.

And I think someone noted that the jewel that is present in the Japanese logos for Sun and Moon look a lot like the crystal-device that performs the function in the manga.

And it occupies the same place as the Mega Evolution logo in the Japanese logos for XY.

Eh. The card literally said "Ash Greninja". If we do have synergy or something with color changes though I won't be mad. Could be a cool single player thing

I definitely need mega chesnaught though

tbh synchro pokemon sounds cool

the xy/xyz series is the best the anime's been and there's nothing wrong with ash greninja, i'd be down with something like it coming to the games

It makes absolutely no sense to promote Greninja with a form that would be unobtainable in any capacity for the main games. When the anime exists to market stuff like that, it's completely counterproductive.

Little Timmy is going to get his Synchro Greninja in Sun and Moon, whether people like it or not.

Edit: Combined with the anime itself linking it to Mega Evolution, I don't know what more evidence people need. The fanbase always has this weird ass method of speculation even if the writing is on the wall.

Synchro evolution could turn me off from the series altogether. The better keep that crap out of the main games.

I dig that a lot. The less safe the evos are, the better. Popplio looking less and less of a seal as it evolves is pretty cool.
