They could but Square owe them so much already, they can call in favors at will. No point in owning them....Sony will end up buying Square
I know it’s part of business and I fully expect to see MS do it too. I will be against it then as well.Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if both companies make anti consumer moves in the name of competition for the first couple of years.
I'm definitely expecting Microsoft to counter these moves with something similar.
I know you don't like to hear this but it's part of business.
Hearing a rumour tell me the game is coming out sooner than we think is enough for me to know its bullshit.
When was the last time SE came out with any mainline FF in a short span of time since the last generation?
Apparently this game has been in development since 2016/2017 by the division of Square Enix behind FFXIV. That would explain why the game would be closer to release than what most people expects.Hearing a rumour tell me the game is coming out sooner than we think is enough for me to know its bullshit.

This would be so nostalgic.
I can't argue with putting games on multiple platforms and letting the customers decide, but FF feels like it belongs with Playstation a little bit.
If true, Sony is not taking their PS4 success for granted, and is doing everything possible to recreate it.

Remember that we also had XIII-2 and Lightning Returns in between XIII and XV, even if you don't consider them "mainline" games those are still big titles with AAA production values.Bruh, like FF 7, 8 and 9 for the PSOne. FF X, XI, X-2, XII weren't super far apart but really I only consider X and XII mainline FFs. XII to XIII and XIII to XV were fucking forever.

Can we ban them even if it’s not?Can we ban Resetera if this turns out false?

Warning: DO NOT TOY WITH MY HEART! lolThat poster also said the Silent Hill rumours are true, for all of my fellow SH lovers out there!
Idk if OK would be correct here. The split around launch was like 75-80% PS4...KH3 has a similar split as well.

Silent Hill will be announced before the PS5 launches according to the insiders. The game is planned for 2021, so there's no way that they'll wait until next year's E3 or TGS to reveal it.They are true but it might not be something we hear about until E3/TGS 2021.
I kinda agree with that too. Microsoft should get Ninja Gaiden or something back. This would be so nostalgic.

And more games. It's been so long.
I actually associate the franchise more with Playstation at this point. Feels like it hit it's highest mainstream recognition there too.
Mate, as a heartbroken SH fan just knowing that the franchise is alive (and in good hands, may I add) and coming back soon rather than later makes me happy. They are true but it might not be something we hear about until E3/TGS 2021.
Last year XV was around 9M counting PC sales so that % is likely even lower now.Yeah, that sounds about right. I think the split was 80% PS4 and 20% Xbox if I remember correctly. MGS5 had a similar ratio as well. Overall, that’s not Ok, but I’m surprised FF15 even sold 20% to be honest.
Lol ok square. It’ll be exclusive until it’s on Xbox.
Same. like an actual fantasy world.Would love a return to #9 style and era, less tech more medieval stuff.
ffvii remake been full exclusive that would be huge, XVI online? no thanks do whatever with it.
I think the main problem is XBox owners need to finally start supporting Japanese games if they want to see these games come to their platforms. I try to support Japanese games on XBox, but unfortunately I’m in the minority. Then again, not having any type of hardware presence in Japan probably contributes to things as well.

It is being developed by the division behind FFXIV, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be an online game.Did I miss something about XVI being online?
if we are really talking nostalgia i mean technically it belongs to Nintendo, but i get what you're sayinThis would be so nostalgic.

Thanks for being so consumer friendly Sony!
It's definitely an interesting position so I can see why putting Japanese games(Yakuza/FF Etc) on GamePass would be an attractive idea depending on the type of deal they are presented...some of the financial risk is alleviated for sure. For example Yakuza: Like a Dragon has sold (last reported) around 550K in Japan/Asia on the PS4...I doubt the game does numbers close to that on XBOX in the west but MicroSoft has purchased timed exclusivity for the next-gen version of the game.I see. XBox might be at like 9% now generously speaking then. If Final Fantasy can’t tear up the charts with the XBox demographic, I don’t think anything can from Japan.
Wait, shouldn't you be blaming Konami and Square Enix for making timed exclusive deals? Thanks for being so consumer friendly Sony!
Did I miss something about XVI being online?
That's what people don't seem to grasp lolThe consumers who aren't buying their products?
Why would it be Sony's job to ensure they are satisfied with their Xbox, Nintendo, etc?
Yeah, but it’s still not consumer friendly lol
Well that generation they money hatted anything and everything, even EA as a whole, and this gen looks like they’re just moneyhatting everything as well, so it’s a fair comparison.
