Yes, because they overhauled the perk system completely.
They threw the old perk system & stats out of the window and totally reworked it, so everyone has to reset their points.

I've played for myself after my post, imo I believe you are right, it is still broken and washed out as before. Playing with it off is world's better. Such a shame.

The game has turned from it's good but there are some serious problems to the game is pretty good. There are lots they can do to make it even better but I feel that if they released it as it is now with 1.5 Patch on release day, it would of gone down as a top rated game.

Turned off minimap and its awesome how I can recall the way from V's apartment to Afterlife. That's how you do an open world city, everything is recognizable and distinct.

Ok, I think I am the only one that prefers the RT mode
given that the RT mode runs at 30 fps (already bad), has really bad motion blur that can not be turned off and has input latency that is worse that streaming PSnow on a TV set to movie mode... I mean, is that surprising to you?

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt is looking into improving performance on the Xbox Series S version of the game.
Some Xbox Series S owners are unhappy with how Cyberpunk 2077 runs on the console in the wake of yesterday's 1.5 patch, and CD Projekt Red is taking note. The developer is pledging to look into bringing the experience on Series S closer to the other next-gen versions.
…the developer said they've heard the request for the improvement, and are looking into the possibility of implementing it. However, CD Projekt says they are "investigating our options but don't know if this will be possible".

True. But with RT it looks next gen. For me is frustrating to have expent 500€ in a next gen machine to play PS4 games at 60fps. What it's surprising for me is so much people calling 60fps a next gen feature, when it's something that has existed since forever. In the PS4 era, The Last of Us 1 remaster was considered a PS3 game at 60fps, and The Last of US 2 at 30fps was the true next gen. But this gen it's weird because people has get obsessed with 60fps at the point of considering next gen any new game with 60fps toggle, even if that game could be perfectly achievable at 30fps in last gen.
60fps are awesome and desirable, but it can't be a definitory next gen aspect when they are achievable, even totally common in PC, since 20 years ago.
So, people wants 60fps or next gen graphics? Because this is the first gen that people seem to prefer the first. So, what, Switch's Paper Mario (awesome game) at 60fps is more next gen than Horizon Forbidden West at 30fps? Obviously no. So, what is it a truly next gen feature this generation? It must me something not possible in last gen, right? So RT, at least that, is clearly next gen.
But again, I understand people, even myself, prefers to play at better framerate than push fancy slow graphics. My frustration comes because I want both! And this gen seems a cross gen, not a big step forward from PS4 Pro, that was my last console.

Happened to me as well. I just randomly assigned the points because I couldn’t get bothered and now I’m getting my ass kicked at level 27.

Been testing this between PS5 - XSX - GFN and all modes (on the opening section as a nomad with the car up until the border)
PS5 runs smoothly and looks nice and crisp, if I had to choose id play it in 30fps RT, its just more "next gen", 30fps doesn't bother me as much as I like 60.
XSX seems to be a tad more clear in RT mode, I spent some time around the Hut Jackie is in and in the surrounding area and noticed the slats on the building and the car seem to have ever so slightly less blurring (could be DRS) but seemed a tiny bit sharper, were talking 5% or less.
GFN running on a MacBook Air 3080 tier (60fps 1440p) so obviously the big hit here is resolution and also playing on an 4k monitor you don't get the same colour depth and crispness of a 4k OLED, the biggest improvement is of course the RTX implementation and overall eviromental effects. For instance in the Border control section There's a bit where you walk into a waiting room and they confiscate your gun, looking at the people waiting in the hall and also the person who interviews you, there is a significant difference in the lighting and effects. You could make the comparison to be similar to Spider Man Fidelity mode vs FPS mode that's what the PC vs XSX/PS5 version feels like - there just more, not transformative but noticeable.
All in all, I will end up playing this on PS5 or GFN when my shield TV arrives, the main differentiator being the DualSense implementation - No rumble or controller feedback on PC is a big no no for me and PS5 also has PS Plus tips, 3D audio and activity cards which are generally nice QOL features. Will report back if I see any big changes in native 4K on the shield.

It has been improved since several patches ago. I spent ages playing with and ridiculing the HDR in this game at launch, but I noticed a distinct change about 6 months ago.

Yeah he's reading wayy too much into it. Series S has zero problems running the game, in fact it might be the console with the best visuals/specs ratio, as it as the same resolution (or nearly the same) & graphical parameters as SX & PS5, only at 30 fps.

Huh? It does have problems running the next gen update vs the lead consoles. So is it a next gen console or are we obligated to call it next gen because it released on a certain date? Meanwhile, precious development time and resources are being used and it’s still not enough….

When I see Frank listed as the last poster the thread this morning, I figured things had taken a XSS related turn.
I doubt RT happens here, but hey, if they can offer a 720p/60 mode for this one, more power to them. Options are good.

I'm playing it on series x right now, and honestly it's a fucking amazing game......the only problem....the damned controller. Its honestly absolutely awful on console. I can't see how anyone could play the combat sections well.
This game on pc with mouse and keyboard, I can easily see why it would scores 9s and 10s.
Looks amazing on series x in performance mode but I dunno if I can hack playing with the pad.

This game is all about immersion, and release version was cutting corners in that department that no game since 2000 has done. Indeed, water physics may seem trivial but it looks goofy as hell.
2077 was filled with tons of missing features that may seem trivial on their own, but all added together made a huge deal in the moment-to-moment gameplay. Water not reacting, vehicles unable to drive around you, crowds not reacting to things you do.. The list was basically endless.
I'm glad they're finally addressing a lot of these quirks.

No way in hell, this game has one of the best first person camera designs i've seen in an RPG. Making it third person and adding a whole bunch of dialogue cutscenes like The Witcher 3 would only subtract from the experience.

Agree it's a pretty dumb take when it's running at the same resolution at 30fps, just without some rather lame ray traced shadows.
When they give us a 60fps option they'll just start crying about the resolution being lower.

It spent time in development as a TPP game until they made it FP only. I guess they wanted to and couldn’t pull it off or couldn’t give the option for both. But yeah, why copy the Witcher 3? Obviously, they made a great game here that has been really well received and has had no issues…..

I tried to do that last night, went with some v/h figures posted here and disabling everything under advanced settings. Still couldn’t do the fire fights well.
Maybe it’s just me being bad though, I rarely play first person shooters.
Anyhow I’m going back to PC. Doing another nomad playthrough. Just need a better screen, a 24” 1080p LCD from 2015 is so no okay.
