Ok. I must have missed it. I did click in the left stick for HDR options. Didn't mess with that too much. I'll put it on quality then, if it isn't already. But I assume the default is performance.

Thanks!

Anytime! I didn't expect to ever choose 30fps voluntarily in a first person game anymore, but this game needs some patches before I even consider Performance mode. Night and day, really. I didn't mess with HDR much either: that little screen or two really doesn't help in figuring out the highs and lows, and I was hyped to play ASAP, haha. Game looks good as is.

Unfortunately I had to refund the game on Steam. At 1440p my GTX1080 simply can't handle it. I don't think I hit 60 fps even once and I had almost everything on low. Unplayable for me, even with gsync... I'll be back when Nvidia decides to manufacture GPUs again

Nope, it's in the tab marked "visuals" besides "graphics" in the settings menu.

I'm on the Series X. In the Settings, there's "Video" next to graphics. Pressing LS down brings up HDR settings anywhere from Settings, but nothing to actually toggle it off.

Looks great! Performance Mode or Quality Mode?

You can only turn it off and system level, Microsoft really need to give us the option to choose what games we want it for.

I swear I made a huge dick for my chick, but when I looked in the mirror in my flat it wasnā€™t there? Transphobia?

Same for me. I made a big dick for my male V but in the mirror it's a vagina. I came back here to see if there is a fix.

Where can you see your dick besides the mirror?

No bugs for me on PS4 but 2 crashes in 3 hours of play. Both when nothing remarkable was happening.
how do you find the play experience on the ps4 base? I am thinking of just giving up and saving cyberpunk for a better experience. Maybe when I get my hands on a ps5 next year.. I was really excited but only got a ps4 base to play it on. And its just horrible.. There are so many moments I dont see a fucking thing. The lightning outside sucks when driving. The framerate can drop extremly low the moment I'm in a crowded place.. Its so hard to enjoy the beauty of this game on that thing

Righ there in Video: you can choose between Quality and Performance. Performance is pretty ugly so I went Quality. It's not like it's a fast-paced shooter anyway.
Thanks for this tip. I was about to call it a day with this but the game is far raise on the eye now.

Performance mode just looks like shit on Series X for some reason.

Was walking to a mission and got into a shooting. Police in Night City doesn't seem to give a crap. Did get a few nice rifles from the dead guys :messenger_sunglasses:

Assault in progress events confuse me, I seem to randomly get a wanted rating, even if I am helping the police, can't understand why it happens

All versions of the game seem to suffer as far optimization goes. In performance mode, the game is just... pretty damn ugly, and even so it doesn't stick to 60fps. The 60fps mode for Valhalla and even the 120fps one for DIRT 5 look great on Series X. I know this is a complex and very dynamic open world game, with a very dense world that is far harder to represent than Valhalla's or Watch_Dogs "wide spaces". But it's quite shocking how bad it looks in Performance mode, and of course how it looks and performs on last-gen consoles. It simply does not compete with the other open world games. Then there's Quality mode which, even though at 30fps with drops, legit looks like a current-gen game, and it doesn't even have RTX and other enhancements for the new consoles.

What an odd contrast.

Many ā€œWhelpsā€! Handle It!
My first bug after nearly five hours of play: my shotgun decided to stop shooting in the middle of a firefight. Had to exit to the main menu then back into the game to get it to work again. Thank goodness katanas don't run out of ammo āš”

Okay, so i just saw the comparison pictures from PS4/Xbox to the PC version. Like jesus, i knew that PC would have better graphics, but the game looks like a generation ahead on PC. I kinda wish they would have done some more enhancements for the game running on next-gen consoles.

They should just have quit developing the game for hardware from 2013, and instead put the dev time for further optimization into the next gen version. 20fps on base consoles is not playable at all.

Iā€™ve also turned off Additive Camera Motions - I donā€™t know if itā€™s placebo but the camera isnā€™t so jerky now.

Anyone get any ā€œspecial clothingā€ yet? It supposedly overides your current look without taking your stats down.

Not looking for spoilers but just wondering if there are any somewhat early on and whether they basically end up being clown costumes or not lol.

I am playing this on X Box one X and honestly it runs and looks very well. I am not getting the problems others are talking about. I am running it off of an external SSD so maybe that helps.

Here in a little bit I'm going to try tweaking that additive motions thing. Game feels like Scorn movement looks like. Weird acceleration and deceleration on the aiming and moving. TW3 was weird until they tweaked it with alternative movement and some other adjustments.

Somebody posted a controls config earlier I might give that a shot.

Loving it so far. Performance is great with DLSS and had no crashes or bugs.

Combat is very fun and looks fantastic. I was a bit worried about combat after Witcher 3.

Some of the NPCs donā€™t look as good as others but the ones you interact with look amazing for the most part - the skin shader (SSS maybe?) looks super realistic at times and miles ahead of anything Iā€™ve seen before.

So I got to try out the brain dance. That shit is cool. Feels like an evolution of how Blade Runner worked with photos. Still feels like the city is an empty facade - lots of shops with open signs but locked doors. Crowd density is good, plenty of people, but not many cars considering itā€™s supposed to be a city. I think Iā€™m in an early container area so it may improve later.

Yeah, it can be a bit framey. I stubbornly want to play it because I want to get lost in a huge adventure over the holiday period and just forget 2020, and this ambitious Bladerunner looking game promises the player that kind of experience. Anyone who has the patience to wait and play it on a high end system definitely should. Anyone who has long conversations about the merits of 60 vs 30 fps definitely wouldn't and shouldn't touch the base PS4 version. That said my early impression is that some of the criticisms are exaggerated.

I don't think it looks terrible for a multiplat PS4 game as long as you consider how huge and ambitious it is, there are a lot of low res objects in your periphery like fuzzy statues or blurry graffiti that I'm not troubled by, the dystopian atmosphere they're going for is still there. The performance is a more serious concern but I think I'm okay with it unless those 2 crashes are going to be a regular occurrence, or the bugs I keep hearing about become a big part of my experience. I turned off film grain and motion blur as people have suggested, if the framerate becomes more of a slideshow I might try turning off every tab under graphics but it probably won't do much.

Right now what I'm worried about is actually the gameplay - I'm looking at perks and they are all so underwhelming that I can't pick one. Plus 3% to this or plus 4% to that is just trash. Those are the kind of upgrades that will have no discernible effect until many of them are stacked together. If the rpg side of things is actually not so hot, I may have purchased a game whose primary value is as a technical marvel and graphical showcase, except it's neither of those things on PS4, lol.

Started Act Two. Seems like a good time to start doing some side missions and mess around with my quickhack abilities.

Holy shit, I've spent nearly an hour trying to tune the controller aim settings and only marginally improved things. Playing on Series X and combat is fucking aggravating because of the horrible aiming. I'm going to assume PC feels responsive and crisp? Kind of wishing I got it on PC right now.

how about you play it at 1080p and lower settings?

I'm just gonna wait to play this, until the next gen patch is available, played like three hours and experienced a lot of graphical bugs + had to reload a previous save because a main quest bugged out on me.

Anyone else just doing random jobs and not even going near the story quests yet?

It's basically everything I ever wanted - open world Deus Ex.

Yeah itā€™s more Deus Ex than anything else. Itā€™s literally just a bigger Deus Ex.
