Demon Souls Digital Deluxe Edition

? Who is to say they are not going to do that?

Old Hunter DLC didn't come at launch and wasn't announced at launch...
My point was I want to earn the new items or new weapons within the game itself, not just handed to me, like you would get that Scythe weapon by defeating the Reaper.

Are they available in the game? If so, it's still bad, but it's more like a DS2 situation, where I'm pretty sure most of it was available in game or was equivalent of an item available in the game.
Still, as most people reacted back then, it's completely retarded and gives it less value than a standard edition, unless it's exclusive to the deluxe edition (then it's a mix of pros and cons still).

JohnnyFootball

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
The only advantage deluxe owner have are the souls, then again a legendary only nets you 10,000 souls and the ring of longevity sounds like a "HP booster" ... completely useless later on.

Both armor sets do not exist in the OG game (for the player), the red eye knight being a end game enemy. It would be strange to give a low level new player a high end armor, with stats meant for end game players? Has to be cosmetic.

useless souls (no biggie), useless grass-food, a nice to have to noob ring for early levels, red eye knight armor cosmetic + OG soundtrack? But why did they add a hoplite shield ... i dont know :p
The way I see it, is the souls being prevent me from doing less farming.

Oh.... you can't do that in this game? They removed that as a feature or?

It’s not a remaster you fucking idiot. It’s a remake

I swear, one more person calls this a remaster and things may get really ugly for them

But question comes do I want Bluepoint to do the DLC for this game? I don't want to be mean but when was the last time Bluepoint made their own original game? I dont think I can trust them to make whole new content for this game, I would rather see FROM themselves handle that.
Oh, I agree with you.
I'm not even planning on ever buying or playing this game but I'm still curious about its development and future DLC plans.

Pretty gross. MS drops 7.5 billion on new studios and Sony is begging for change like a hobo. If they start selling souls for $ in the Playstation Store I'm cancelling this generation.

deluxe edition weapons look like reskins of gold skeletons cleaver and phallanx shield... Red eyed knight is a late in-game enemy, but if these were really just rare drops they should just add pure badestone and charge $20 more

I'll probably get it more for cosmetic purposes rather than an early game boost. I had so much fun introducing my friend's to the original Demon's Souls and most of them didn't play past their first death. I hope my kids die at that infamous early game spot!

Why? Do you feel like you "HAVE" to buy it now?
Right? There’s no MP where you get a competitive advantage. If you suck at souls-type games you’re still gonna suck. Check all the people that couldn’t finish sekiro or had to grind to beat bloodborne

How is it not a remaster? It's the exact same game right? They didn't overhaul the gameplay like FF7:R

They did, not completely, but some bosses are redesigned, new fight mechanics (you couldn't block with weapon in the original), new items/weapons, new enemy attacks and maybe many new things we don't know yet.

And the graphics overhaul is massive, night and day, completely new engine. It's far from a remaster.

Oh, and I forgot about new soundtrack. Based on original themes, but now seems to be fully orchestrated.

Huh I thought it was going to stick closelty to the origonal in terms of gameplay, didn't realize they were letting Bluepoint change so much. Shadow of the Collossus was largely the same game.

Can you get that Scythe weapon within the game itself without the DLC in this remake?

Can you not earn new items or weapons in the game? Your original claim is as follows "I want to earn the new items or new weapons within the game itself". I see nothing that states you can't do that in this title.

So I haven't read anywhere that the items listed can only be found with that DLC and not obtained in the game itself. My god, it would be like trying to argue shards are not in the game cause its listed in this DLC.

It would be like trying to say "can you get orbs within the game itself without the DLC in DMC5?"

I'm sure there's going to be a lot of [redacted] around here who's going to buy that shit. Keep up the good work [redacted], hopefully, Sony can raise the price a bit more once we reach 2021. I'm thinking they should increase all games to 100 euros.

The items are literally not needed. You can forget about the Digital Deluxe.
GOW and TLOU2 had digital deluxe editions too that were not necessary.
Haters itc cope, seethe and dilate.

Are people still this clueless in 2020? If the game was remade from scratch in a completely new engine, etc, it's not a remaster.

HD Collections like God of War, Jak and Daxter Ico/Shadow of the Colossuson PS3, etc are remasters.

Games that re-create the game engine and graphics from scratch are remakes. This is stuff like Crash/Spiro Trilogies and Shadow of the Colossus on PS4.

Games that use a game to retell a basic plot with completely new gameplay, graphics, story elements, etc are actually more a reimagining than a remake. Resident Evil 2 and 3 on PS4/XBO fall into this category.

Final Fantasy VII Remake (despite its name) is not any of the above. It is, for all intents and purposes, a sequel, but one that uses time travel, alternate universes, etc to create something new, but around the original game's plot.

Demon's Souls can in no way be considered a remaster though. Anyone saying otherwise is just showing major ignorance.

Bluepoint said this is their biggest and proudest project so far and called it re-envisioning.

we call it a re-envisioning given that it goes well beyond what we thought was possible on Shadow of the Colossus

All I'm saying that it would be cool to earn the new Scythe weapon by defeating the Reaper instead of DLC, it could have been nice surprise. I don't know whats wrong for wanting that.

You will most likely be able to obtain all of the new pre-order weapons in game. Dark Souls 2 also came with a bunch of DLC weapons that was later obtainable in late game. Don't worry. I don't think Bluepoint are that stupid to let players have advantage with exclusive weapons and armor just because they pre-ordered or bought a digital deluxe edition. They just have first dibs.

You can't do that in this game? Do you have a link to show its been removed and the only way to get it is DLC or?

You might be jumping the gun on this one as I don't see much that is suggesting the game has no weapons and you must pay for DLC to get them or something.

Mr Hyde Mr Hyde Agreed. I don't see enough to jump to some conclusion that the only way to get what is listed is from DLC. My god, it would be saying shards can only be gained thru the dlc...... I don't see anything that even remotely suggest that as this sounds like standard DLC stuff we hear about for pre-order bonuses, special editions etc.

Soundtrack + 1x Pure Bladestone + Friend Ring and the 20$ would be great value.

Digital deluxe versions are a scam.

Change my mind.

This.

I don't see myself ever getting one. Even if I got a free PSN Gift card from a friend, I'd just use that money to buy 2 games instead of 1 deluxe version lolz. The only exception might be if its deeply discounted and it gives another free game, like when Doom had a free copy of Doom 3 or 2 or something as a bonus or when AC Odyssey had a older remaster one as a bonus or something and even then I'd only buy it if it was a sale of a game I was going to get anyway.

I just don't see me buying anything like that at launch as if I even like the IP enough to get such a edition, I'm getting that shit physical, steelbook etc

Yeah I'm starting to think this really is the most likely scenario, if not that would cause a shitstorm with PvP... we still don't know how matchmaking is going to work.

You could buy all the Dark Souls 2 preorder weapons later in the Drangleic and at that point they were all pretty crap

Ah, c´mon now.

Those 3x souls will give you +5 levels at best with any starting class (souls level 4). Or maybe +10 if you chose the Royalty (souls level 1).

The higher souls level (like starting class thief at 9), the less gains, yields those 3x souls will net you. You are going to grind for days, especially if you´re aiming for one of the (new) boss weapons.

Of course, we don´t know how much the game has changed from the OG. It would have been nice, if they had included the OG game with DE pack. :(

Nope. You’re right. Almost as fucking poisonous as MTXs and loot crates.

What is so crazy about this, is in a different generation, this would be a fucking cheat code! LOL!

Its why I don't really care about the whole "easy mode" argument as if someone wants to play that way, who the fuck cares? We had cheat codes in the past, people can mod today almost anything etc, the biggest issue here is once upon a time we had cheat codes.... now we have special editions charging money for dem cheat codes!

In the most BARE concept I can think of, that is what is being done. It would be like if in GTA VI they had a version that gave you weapons, money etc completely disregarding that such a concept was completely free before with a cheat code if someone wished to do all that.

Want to unlock on your own? Cool.
Want to use them cheats and or mods? Have fun.

I simply question why we still have such versions when cheat codes would make more sense.

Ninety quid for a digital download???

Fuck off.

The PC version will likely be cheaper though.

Likely, but thats also because it would be coming much later and have all the DLC like you saw from Horizon. Best guess imho
