There are "insiders" and there are actual insiders with a track record to back them up, you really can't just brush it off. The two main insiders saying the same thing have a pretty damn good track record. So we trusting "insiders" again?
Doesn't even say what games?
Sounds legit.
...Unless you buy a PS5 maybe?Nothing good will come from this as a gamer.
...Unless you buy a PS5 maybe?
Only if consumers dont have choice to change the service provider aka Monopoly. The gaming scene is far from having a monopoly
Another great point. Not many on here is on your level of fanboydom. Props, I guess. Anymore fan-fiction novels to entertain us with? A short chap or two will do.
Buying games to support developers is never a bad thing. Plus they never said that the DLC wasn't free.
Spider-Man Is Coming to Marvel's Avengers as a PlayStation Exclusive - IGN
Spider-Man is coming to Marvel's Avengers as a free DLC, exclusively for PlayStation.www.ign.com
"In a new PlayStation Blog post, Marvel’s Avengers confirmed that Spider-Man will be added to the playable roster in early 2021 “at no additional cost” to anyone who owns the base game. As previously leaked, Spider-Man will be exclusive to PlayStation owners."
As you can see Spiderman is free exclusive DLC for the PlayStation version if Marvel Avengers. I don't see why DLC can't be free for other games.
Also not every game comes to gamepass. You still have to pay for alot of them.
and duping you out of real ownership of anything.
You act like you know something about the decision making process of a multi billion dollar corp but i think you dont lol. And do you actually think it would take the "entirety of MS's finances" to fund gamepass for a few years? Doubtful.
Secondly this idea that every membership is 1$ per month is silly.
Your literally buying DLC thats marketed as a next gen titles in Spiderman.
He will get honor to purchase additional DLC on top of the price of the game, that is truely unmatched privelage for just additional money.
He's throwing fanboy shit at the wall as usual. His posts leaves a trail of dung right back to his toxic green troll overpass.Did you even read the article?

This is what you said.
1. The game is called Marvel Avengers
2. The Spiderman DLC for that game is free so nobody will pay for it.
And if your talking about Miles Morales.
Insomniac confirms Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a standalone PS5 game
It’s not an expansion or a remaster.www.theverge.com
It's a stand alone PS5 game that doesn't require Insomniacs Spiderman game. So essentially you don't need to pay for the original to play Miles Morales.
So what are you talking about?
It's different when the studio in question is in danger of going under unless someone buys that studio. If Sony had brought NT, would you have expected them to be a multi-platform Dev? Of course not.How so? The studio potentially benefits from either case and the end result for you as a consumer is basically the same.
Why do you assume the PS5 games were running on actual retail hardware in real time?I don't know I think it's more consumer friendly to show games running off the actual system. I don't like it when any company pulls a fast one on us by using PCs instead of the actual console.
Why do you assume the PS5 games were running on actual retail hardware in real time?
There’s a 99.99% chance that they weren’t btw. They would also have been pc.
well then, microsoft should for starters just remove minecraft from playstation, also remove and not release anything more on outer worlds, forget about psychonauts 2, etc
plus throw a quadruple of billions (if sony mustered .75) to locking out playstation from big 3rd party games.
See how your logic is flawed?
Why do you assume the PS5 games were running on actual retail hardware in real time?

You know you can buy games on Xbox too?
If they are on gamepass, you even have a 20% Discount.
If you don’t have gamepass, they are available for you to buy and MS first party games have a physical version too.
They don’t WANT to deprive you of ownership but a lot of gamers consume games like they consume movies.
In that case gamepass is a cool thing.
What Matt? Mr one line vague statement. Could you list me some of his correct predictions please? I for one await for the bombs to start dropping... *squints at the sky*
How much do you think that has cost Sony?So Sony just randomly open their PS5 show with GTA 5 a game that 1st came out on PS3?
Rockstar skipped a whole generation without making a new GTA game I'm thinking GTA 6 got moved over to PS5 years ago.
This is not desperation, this is business. Desperation is if you only sold 20-40 million consoles and pretty much all your first party games flopped in sales and reviews. You would have to combat that somehow. Sony on the other hand is just laying more bricks on Fort Knox, in essence ensuring even more success after probably their best generation. It's what you call, not sitting on your laurels and going all out.....I am LMFAO this reeks of desperation from Sony, because their next generation offering is the same old strategy with no foresight or inovation. They are brining a weaker system and have absolutely no answer for GamePass nor Xcloud with a half ass solution for back compatibility.
So they are now left with braging about a SSD and exclusive DLC something everyone hates universally.
Go team Playstation with a strategy like they have , they dont even need enemys. Xbox can just chill and watch them fall on their own sword.
Funny enough you like all the games MS has a marketing deal with or which are timed-exclusive to Series X. CP2077 will be enjoyed on PC and PS as well regardless of platform, I just hope CDPR does not gimp the PS5 version as they did the PS4 version of Witcher 3. I don't think the medium or ascent will be as good as you think, especially the medium. There will be much better games for horror. Quantum Error looks much more impressive and of course RE8, Silent Hill are much higher calibre horror games to look forward to, but Quantum error has so much atmosphere, I'm looking forward to it more than medium and Scorn. I think Scorn looks good though, but the gameplay I saw of it was much too slow for that type of genre. Again, it's not going to light Meta on fire, there will be much better games in the very genre, tonnes of heavy weights too, especially when rumor has it that Team Siren is on the prowl with another Siren.I don't know what games Sony has exclusive deals with besides Avengers which I never had any interest in. I know Xbox has the marketing for Cyberpunk and I believe also Valhalla the only 2 upcoming 3rd parties I really interested in and plan to buy. I've also heard they have Elden Ring. I don't like From Software games, but it is another big game.
Sony can go buy up a bunch of 3rd party timed exclusives or meaningless extra content. It will have no effect on me, I'll be tied up for many months with Halo, CP2077, Valhalla and all the Xbox 3rd party exclusives like The Medium, Ascent, Scorn etc.
I am bummed I'll miss out on Volcano High though.
It's funny people spoke all types of mess when GTA5 was shown first on PS's show, they laughed, they scorned. Yet, the basic things they took for granted. GTA is still in most top 5 sales lists everywhere worldwide, how is that for sales longevity, impact and staying power. Sony knows which girl in the room to pursue........So Sony just randomly open their PS5 show with GTA 5 a game that 1st came out on PS3?
Rockstar skipped a whole generation without making a new GTA game I'm thinking GTA 6 got moved over to PS5 years ago.
let's see first what sony moneyhatted for ps5, and then I will talk to Phil offering my suggestionsOk, so we can expect HB2 on PS5 or will MS remove HB series from PlayStation consoles? ... I agree that competition can bring these kind of nasty battles, not al good you see, but the funny part is people climbing onto glass trying to find neigh invisible and mostly extremely surface deep differences and magnifying them into something that actually matters .
Oh I can't believe I forgot to add this gem:
Xbox Head Says Next-Gen Exclusives are 'Completely Counter to What Gaming is About,' Argues Cross-Gen Releases Don't Hold Back Games - PlayStation LifeStyle
Xbox head Phil Spencer has stated that next-gen exclusives are "completely counter to what games are about" and that "gaming is bigger than one device."www.playstationlifestyle.net
aaaand one more for the road
Nope, they opened their show with their biggest money-earner, wanting to reassure playstation players that they can keep on buying them Shark Cash Cards microtransactionsSo Sony just randomly open their PS5 show with GTA 5 a game that 1st came out on PS3?
He also said that X1 wouldn't hold back next-gen and that Halo Infinite was being made with XSX in mind and we saw how that turned out...I thought Phil said he hated exclusives....
you probably need a new display to see it, since it's 120hzHe also said that X1 wouldn't hold back next-gen and that Halo Infinite was being made with XSX in mind and we saw how that turned out...
Its a matter of perspective. The games were always coming to PS5, Sony is just paying to punish people who do not want to pay for their new system.

Why do you assume that timed exclusive deals doesn't help fund development? It's different when the studio in question is in danger of going under unless someone buys that studio. If Sony had brought NT, would you have expected them to be a multi-platform Dev? Of course not.
These exclusivity deals are being offered to devs who don't need that financial bail out.
It's not about keeping a studio afloat but offering studios sweeteners to make sure any of their games in development are locked to a certain system for "X" amount of time.
Don't really get why people think the two situations are the same, really.
Because to the uninformed, one excludes the other every time. Also they sit at conference calls with Sony. Why do you asume that timed exclusive deals doesn't help fund development?
It's a way to fight spec differences, maybe a bit of an overkill if they got deals with every big 3rd party considering what MS has shown so far (or not shown, like games running on devkits).
They will divide players between wanting to play the best version of 3rd party games (even if the difference is not big) or wanting to play it when it's trending or playing the most content complete version.
They only need to keep this running the first couple of years to lock that into the brand perception and win the gen with bigger marketshare than without the deals.
Look at the last gen release. Sony didn't have much for about a year while ms had a good variety of games at launch. But in that situation everyone said they were going PS4 because it was more powerful. Times sure have changed. To the other point though. You are making a vs scenario where I just like games and feel neither showed me any reason to buy either at launch since neither have showed much of actual gameplay. It's not 'excuses'.
It's a major distinction.
Sony didn't show enough gameplay (although they did show some from most of the games) but we know they have about 10 big PS5 exclusives coming in the first year, which ultimately is all that matters.
Microsoft showed terrible looking gameplay of Halo and nothing of anything else, and it looks like every big exclusive but one is 2022 at the earliest. That's a genuinely concerning situation, rather than a temporary frustration as with Sony's lack of gameplay. You can't just write the two positions off as equivalent.
Yeah because Halo seems to have had a troubled development and was running on PC, in discussions I've had with him he seems to say everything else must be aswell.Sony explicitly noted everything after GTA5 in their presentation was running on PS5 hardware. Devkits would also count as PS5 hardware.
I currently don't have an Xbox and have base PS4 and PC. I've mainly been playing WiiU games on my PC lately because I've been in a Nintendo mood but don't want to Buy a switch. I buy the best product at whatever price range I'm spending. I have zero brand loyalty. The only thing that will keep me with a brand is if they have the best warranty. I haven't had the same brand phone for my last 6. This thread is about Sony spending a bunch on timed exclusives, not ms buying a studio. If it was about MS doing that I would have the same replies. Seriously change games to food and brands to countries and you can see what I'm talking about. Again especially since most of the time the game is basically made for the other console and it just sits there because someone paid for you not to release it.You think Sony is the one falling on it's sword right now?
This is all just playing at semantics. You think Microsoft buying Ninja Theory doesn't result in "investing in keeping games away from not my players"? Talk about needing to engage in linguistic/mental gymnastics.
I'll never understand the whole "it's different when my favorite person/brand does it." It's all the same man. It sucks for people who only get one system but that is business, and people make their choices. Think about it though. If you're buying a console that doesn't get the games you want but has the badge you like, what is that saying about a person's buying habits?
I've been hearing that from a few of you....What did MS have at launch that was so good?Look at the last gen release. Infamous came out 6 months later but was great. Ki was good even if it was 720p. And Forza I enjoyed and didn't spend a penny. Knack was trash, didn't like resogun. Both launches were weak but most agreed Xbox was a bit better.I've been hearing that from a few of you....What did MS have at launch that was so good?
Lococyle, Ryse, Crimson Dragon, Dead Rising 3, Zumba Fitness, Zoo Tycoon. Fighter Within, Powerstar Golf.....? Killer Instinct is a joke compared to Mortal Kombat or even Injustice and Forza 5 was a Microtransaction mess.......I would take Infamous, Shadowfall, DC Knack, Contrast, Warframe and Resogun over that launch any day.......You guys really remembered a different launch than everybody else, besides Sony had Sound Shapes and Flower Remastered at launch too...
Why do you assume the PS5 games were running on actual retail hardware in real time?
There’s a 99.99% chance that they weren’t btw. They would also have been pc.
Sony explicitly noted everything after GTA5 in their presentation was running on PS5 hardware. Devkits would also count as PS5 hardware.
Because it was explicitly stated for all of them, but this is mostly another case of “Sony Too” AMD you know it... 99% chance Sony lied and all those games were actually running on PC based on what MS pulled at the last show? Is that all the evidence you got?
You guys don't remember the tomb Raider timed exclusive drama do you? MS did it that time so it was exactly opposite to this thread. It would break the narrative they crowdsourced together .
