Resolution is primarily from the GPU
And framerate is primarily from the CPU

Often we get framerate coming out of GPU through GPGPU due to a weak CPU, if the CPU is that much stronger then maybe it won't be a one or the other situation?

I suspect framerate will be of some importance for the PS5, if only because VR requires it to be 90 or above, so devs may work towards higher FPS in games.

All other games on the console are IN MY OPINION, overrated garbage, and that also applies to the quality of sony products. Hence why I purchased an xbox x and never looked back.

Lol, I know its going to be hard for you guys to believe, but my PS4 had a disc drive issue. It would constantly spit out my discs and make a beeping noise. I returned it to eb games as it was still under warranty.

I am not sure if it was just a bad batch of consoles or its just a case of bad luck on my end. but I was fed up with returning sony accessories and hardware at that point.

EB made some calls to management and they were happy to swap over my PS4 for an xbox x.

Unfortunately, I had to repurchase Assassin Creed Odyssey and RDR2 on the xbox and start over from scratch which is fucking tedious to say the least...

I might have missed more here. I didn't even include a single playstation move game or a single shitty game . could have doubled this list.

its not even close. its like less than half the ps3 exclusives. And I didn't mention shitty games like knack 1 and 2.

thank jesus I sold my ps4 not that long ago. its gonna take two generations to get a full gen lineup for exclusives. because they are unwilling to invest money in more studios or 3rd party exclusives like they used to. just riding the PS+ money like microsoft did with the 360.

idc if games take longer to make. get more studios, you are making more money than ever.

In fact games do take longer to make. Assets need to be higher resolution, the maps have to have more geometry and be bigger... hardware resources must be put to good use, and that costs more than previous gen.

Apart from thatm Sony closed some studios, Driveclub could had a sequel, but we got the fkn Onrush.
We could have another Wipeout. Even a Bloodborne sequel too. Maybe Uncharted 5 or TLOU2 in time...

This gen have had some troubles, that's right. But even with that, I dont think it's fair to judge it only from first party ammount.
PS4 still have a pretty big catalog of games to enjoy, and for that it sold what it sold.

I would buy my console for the games it have, and not just for the exclusives it have compared to previous gen. I mean. What kind of reasoning is that?

I would buy this on launch if all games had enforced VR support. VR is so cool in theory yet there are really no killer apps (i'm talking about 9/10 AAA Single-Player experiences, here) worth playing in VR right now besides REVII. ANY game can be made to support VR, if only as a display option, and there's no reason not to approach it as such.

Well truth be told PlayStation's are known to have low quality drives starting from the PS1 era and maybe even Sony devices outside consoles. My PS4 Pro reads them only in horizontal position. Though i don't believe it's that widespread and in my opinion falls in the acceptable ratio. We must also keep in mind that the product with the most sales will obviously have more problems known.

Xbox is also known to have several problems (again not widespread except RROD which was a joke but MS handled it extremely well). I had two X's broken out of the box, and while the construction of the Xbox controller is of high quality the sticks feel a bit flimsy and the elite controller leaves a lot to be desired.

All in all every product has it's problems and the amount of them getting known to the public is dependand on how many people own it, so yes a console with a bit more than double the sales of another console will have more problems become public.

The thread though is for the PS5 so even my post is offtopic and i'm sorry for that.

The type of power we expect from the PS5 is more than my current PC (Teraflops wise) and my PC probably would cost 1100 bucks to build today; maybe a little less

Power is expensive.

People always forget equivalent exchange. More power= more expensive. Xbox one X is expensive is because it is pretty powerful compare to pro. If we want something that is double of power of X, it is going to be VERY expensive no matter how you slice it... unless you got yourself a bloody philosopher's stone.
