The more Last of Us the better.

ND’s milkshake brings all the salty boys to the yard.
So edgy. So salty.

And so wrong.

1 - Did you just blatantly contradict yourself?

You say the problem with games is because they are "politically charged" but people do not like TLoU2 for other reasons than "politically charged story"?

2. Also, why games cannot be "politically charged"? Books are and so are films, what is the problem with video game medium not doing the same?

3. Do you want to forever play the same boring and infantile Mario games?

4. Time to grow the f*ck up.

5. They say the average age of a gamer is around 35.
Looks like it's only true from the biological perspective.

6. Emotionally some of them are still mentally retarded and scared of women with muscles or transgender people...

Oh boy... this is gonna be fun. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Ok, bolded part number 1:

No, Neil Druckmann did everything to alienate audiences and shove his holier-than-thou attitude with stuff like this: https://www.gamesindustry.biz/artic...us-part-2-will-normalise-stuff-that-is-normal

"Naughty Dog director reacts to leaks, says people who will "benefit most from this story are the ones yelling the loudest""

Benefit from what, exactly? Do we play games to be lectured? I for one play games to have fun.

This guy did everything he could to provoke the audience and thus made it politically charged, whether you want it or not.

Bolded part number 2:

They can, who said they can't?

Bolded part number 3:

Yes, Mario is just great game design, tested and proven, awesome timeless stuff. Does it need to be serious to be good? You seem to have some big insecurities concerning liking SERIOUS BUSINESS! FUCKING LOL. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Bolded part number 4:

:messenger_winking_tongue:

What is growing up exactly? I got a house, a job, a wife, a beautiful daughter. I'll just consume whatever the fuck I want. Have a dose of this great Ramones/Tom Waits classic:

Bolded part number 5:

So, not liking the TLOU2 is a sign of immaturity, because if you don't like the Citizen Kane holy grail of awesomeness you must be an immature little kid, right? Mah gawd...

Bolded part number 6:

Thinking something is ugly is not being scared. I prefer my women with actual boobs. And for the trans hate part, do you know Ailynn Ailynn ? Easily one of the best people of this forum and a great human being all around. Intelligent and not judgmental like you. Also, I was raised by a gay father. Get a grip.

I mean, I feel like we got enough Abby backstory in TLOU2 already, didn't we? And their efforts to make us actually care about her I don't think went quite as well as they had hoped.

A better game than TLOU2 is the TLOU2 Tower Defense game where fans try to defend their 2020's sacred cow of game writing. And I'm not paying a single penny to watch that game.

I'm edgy because I pointed out the horrendous writing and the amount of perfect ten's the game got purely because it preached the right politics? OK. As for being salty I assure you that couldn't be further from the truth. TLOU2 is truly something special. Before it no other game so perfectly encapsulated everything wrong with the industry. The trend of developers inserting their ideology into games, the way "journalists" praise anything as long as it's progressive. The manipulative and shallow writing paired with the worst ludonarrative dissonance I've ever seen. The rigging of Metacritic by Sony to prevent bad reviews because only trolls could hate the game right? TLOU2 is the perfect product I can now point to and say this is why gaming is dying and why you should never trust reviewers.

Every thread about TLoU2 are like fly traps, every poster that hates the game comes out to shit on it and get stuck in it. Who cares what the OP is about, let's use the thread to shit on the game that hurts us deep, deep in our hearts, feelings and concerns.

I never quite get this 'Hate' angle that people keep pushing. Hate is more often than not an emotive response. There are perfectly valid complaints that are out there regarding the storyline that are anything but emotive. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Never seen a game trigger so many people. That other thread about what game was a waste of developer time, and it was mentioned countless times..

One of the best games of this Gen hands down

I dont hate it, I just gave zero fucks about it, there was no connection to the characters or their character arcs

I enjoyed exploding people alot, and the first chapters of the game, the hub area with a map was great, combat is great fun.

To go from the story of the first, to the second, its a dumpster fire, hopefully the mp is as good as the first as well

Probably some other project. Don't think they will do a dlc as they said they wouldn't.

But if true, fuck yes. Abby was great. Game is my gotg and despite putting in 42 hours in on my playthrough, I wanted the game to be longer.

If they make an Abby DLC, then prepare to get a interactive golf cinematic starring Abby and Joel. Marks my words.

If there is an interesting story to tell, so be it. While I thought TLOU2 overall was stellar, Abby's campaign up until the skybridge was fairly boring to me. Luckily the atmopshere and world design made up for it in the end.

Does sony upper management have no problems with one of their cash cows being thrown in the garbage like this? Like i get maybe Herman hulst letting directors make what they want but wouldnt the purse strings people ask if thats really what people want? Guess not.

You never pointed out horrendous writing.

Most people who gave the game a good score aren't easily triggered because their favorite Joel died. People are throwing conspiracy theories because they cannot upset that people do think this is a good game.

If people are still this upset about this game then they have some unresolved issues they need to work out.

Why all those people spend so much time and energy on hating this game?
Obviously, if you look at a massive commercial success of the game and the fact that majority of players actually made through this "terrible story" (60% completion ratio) means nobody really gives a sh!t...

Just move on with your life and focus your little hateful agenda on something else. Again - NOBODY CARES.
Apply the same energy to people who spend way too much much time and energy defending the game whenever someone voices an opinion that is not calling the game a 10/10 masterpiece
A defense force doesn't have to assemble every time people post undesirable opinions about the game
Sounds like people care a lot

God knows that I liked the Last of Us Part II, and was even pleasantly surprised at how bold the storytelling was, but even I have had enough of that Abby character for a life time. In short:

all to prove how wrong the argument of "gameplay is King" is.

I could've went with BOTW or any other Nintendo game with a shit story like Rhazer Fusion said but i didn't.

If gameplay is King and you can skip cutscenes and you like the gameplay (most seem to since they are HYPED about Factions) then I don't see why it's a bad game.
The difference here is, that BOTW never tried to excel in terms of story. It's just there to make some sense of all of this, to give the player some context of whats going on. We knew the plot already before it even released: a feminime elf boy rescuing a 10k year old princess from a pig land lord.
It's literially just there to adapt the means to the end.

LOU2 on the other hand wants to be this AAA blockbuster with movie like presentation and deep story. It failing at delivering a coherent story therefore is a much bigger dud than with BOTW, because there clearly was put a lot of focus on the story. No one played BOTW because of its plot. I bet at least half of LOU's userbase did though.

BS if they didn't want to make a good story in BOTW they wouldn't have bought voice actors for the first time i. the series, or put effort in the cutscenes.

My point will always be gameplay is essential and is the core of any game BUT a game is more than just that, you need good art style and graphics, good music AND a good story, all of these combined is what makes a great game great, those who dismiss story in games especiallyiin this day and age are disingenuous idiots, nobody remembers MGS or FF7 JUST for gameplay, they remember Aerith's death and Snake's coolnes and those great codec calls.

People are throwing conspiracy theories

Conspiracy theories literally based on the actual public statements of the creator of the game.

I mean, at one point, the people like you who have been deliberately ignoring those facts and claiming things that literally contradict the reality of what the creator of the game has stated multiple times, has to be because they have some unresolved issues that forces them to act in such a dishonest and illogical way.

It does wonders for the prasentation, but the total amount of cutscenes is still very sparse and the plot remains as formulaic and generic as it always was. Going back to older 3D-Zelda's, it annoyed me how long the introduction in those games are. Especially in Twilight Princess it was just way to much. I was like "damn let me finally play the damn game, its been a hour, enough is enough. Also fuck Colin with his stupid ass haircut."
Maybe there are people that play Zelda for the story. That person ain't me though. I never bothered with it. I don't remember older Zelda games fondly for their story. I remember them for being great games in terms of gameplay, their dungeons, a lot of cool set pieces that can deliver some really dense moments and charming characters. The plot remains what it is though.

TLOU2 neither frames as a hero or a villain and neither djd part 1. He was a complicated and complex men just like all the characters.

Did he? Why is Just Write, Jim Sterling, Cosmonaut, Polygon, Kotaku (all popular personalities/sites) assuming the position that liking Joel was akin to you, the player having character flaws? Why is any criticism of the principal character to any major site or journalist being written off as harassment to shift the narrative on the poor standard of access reviews?

Why is the doctor portrayed as this hero who saved a zebra yet cannot conjure a moral or a rational argument that somehow extracting Ellie's brain stem would save the world or even create a cure ?

Why is the act of torturing Joel so over produced whereas the act of torturing the black chick (fuck knows her name) underproduced?

It's almost as of the game wants you to pick a side and whatever morality that it pretends to have just doesn't exist. You can pretend the game is complicated but it's really not, the story and characters doesn't leave much to the imagination and very little is unsaid.

And yes, defending tlou2 narrative is havin the filter broken.

If you think the game was great good but why waste time and energy defending the game against people who will never like the game?
Get over it and move on
You are telling people who don't like the game to stop wasting energy, yet ignore those who feel the need to defend the game at every moment
Who cares if there are people who hate or dislike the game if you enjoyed it

It's your personal opinion that this game is not good. Everyone doesn't share the same opinion as you do. People didn't give this game good score because they didn't want to get on Sony's bad side. They enjoyed it.

The truth is just hard for people to accept and they have to resort to conspiracy theories.
