She should be fine as Ellie, just needs to look pissed 90% of the time and reply with 1-word sentences.

I don't know. I've seen her in a couple of things. While she was fine in GoT, the other things I've seen her in like His Dark Materials and the Worst Witch on Netflix (I have kids. I swear), she seemed less like she was acting and more like she was just reading lines.

I also just don't really care. Not sure why I'm commenting here.

She may never get a bigger role than this...and it also has to live up to probably the best female acting performance in gaming history, and if it doesn't then...well gamers make GoT fans look soft in comparison. No pressure.

Only know her from GOT but she was pretty good on that so I can definitely see this work

This is, I imagine, adapting the first game.

Ellie in TLOU 1 is talkative and cracks jokes

Why u gotta be such a hater? This by HBO and HBO has a stellar track record. At worst it will just be decent.
HBO isn't as good as it used to be though.

The last 2 seasons of games of thrones went from bad to terrible.

Watchmen also started interesting enough but ended up being really underwhelming IMO.

His Dark Materials was pretty bad too (though maybe that's the source material? Not sure)

Chernobyl was amazing and it's got the same guy working on it.

Again at worst, those were decent. HBO has tons of original content. I've been a subscriber for many years and I genuinely can't think of something that was just straight up a dumpster fire which some people here think TLOU is going to end up being.

The showrunner is the guy who made chernobyl and the director is some dude who won awards at Cannes. I am 100% certain this adaptation will be entertaining at the very least.
