You can fuck off balancing stones while you're at it too.
Did someone hold a gun to your head and ask you to do it?

Might as well have done for 100% clearing each area yes.Did someone hold a gun to your head and ask you to do it?

Why so serious Mr Guillemot? I enjoyed your game otherwise.
Whichever developer thought it was a good idea to have
- an infinitely large skill tree with absolutely meaningless stat boosts like "0.12 dodge roll" WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN
- skill tree hidden under fog so you never know what you're working towards
- every skill develops in every direction so say you want to focus on stealth or whatever you can't just pick a "stealth" path but you have to follow all branches to all sides
shouldn't just get fired and banned from videogame development forever but should be hunted in the streets.
Or what about the person who decided it was a good idea to give this massive game only like 5 different weapons?
I just can't believe how a game developed bij 5000 people has so many stupid elements. What the fuck were they thinking?
I like Valhalla way more than Odyssey. Probably my favorite game in the series. But it took a lot of time and dlc before it hooked me, I initially hated itDamn sad to hear that.
What can you expect from a company, that got its history for odyssey from the movie 300 and the history in Valhalla from the Vikings show.
Valhalla's stealth is broken, the parkour keeps getting nerfed with each game, and the combat has no challenge with that stupidly large parry window. Beautiful world and I like the main stories but beyond that it ain't good. At least Odyssey could be challenging on harder difficulties and the combat had some feel to it. The combat has no weight to it on Valhalla. It was supposed to be more grounded and visceral but I don't see that at all.Don't be, Valhalla is objectively better than Odyssey, you might not like the setting or characters as much, but gameplay wise it's a massive improvement; going back to origins has become impossible for me, and the last time I went back to Odyssey I was missing so much from valhalla.
i did pretty much the same thing as you. except that i play it for 10 hours, get sick and tired, put it down... & never go back...I play it for 10 hours, get sick and tired, put it down, come back 3 months later, play another 10 hours, rinse and repeat for 2 years. I'm over 100 hours in and got a long way to go.
nothx, I've repeated myself ad nauseum in pretty much every AC thread, even in this thread; it's not what "I think", it's things that can objectively be measured.Valhalla's stealth is broken, the parkour keeps getting nerfed with each game, and the combat has no challenge with that stupidly large parry window. What is it that makes you think the gameplay is so much better?
Because Ubisoft came to the conclusion, IIRC it's even backed by a study, that people spend more money the longer they play a game. Might be obvious now but the implications are clear: players need to come back to the game. Why was this game so long?
"Eivor,
please conquer this burrow in my name by talking to this forgettable person, do four arbitrary fetch quests for this person and finally storming a castle and killing 1000 men while I fuck around and berate you, okay?
And when you're done, do the exact same thing another 43 times.
Also - be sure to build our settlement while I contribute absolutely nothing to anything.
You're like a brother to me and stuff.
- Kind regards,
Sigurd"
That people do not care, and sales showed they don't. Also this:Whichever developer thought it was a good idea to have

You know the answer - developer wants the players 'not to miss anything they made', so more useless padding.- every skill develops in every direction so say you want to focus on stealth or whatever you can't just pick a "stealth" path but you have to follow all branches to all sides
Honestly about Level 130 ish I decided to just click "Let the Fates guide you" and left it at that, it didn't seem to matter at allI loved Odyssey. Can't imagine the time sink I put into it.
Valhalla? I bought the Gold Edition and stopped playing in the middle of building up of my home base.
As someone mentioned, the unruly, super large, confusing skill tree was a horrible idea.
I had no idea where to put skill points, so they started to gather dust.
I would literally have 10-12 unused points and not care.
In Odyssey, they were an amazing achievement and added to my play style.
This seems unlikely, the center node will distribute the points for you to the 'most important paths', if you don't care about control, there's no reason to ever have a surplus of skill points.I had no idea where to put skill points, so they started to gather dust.

Yea I agree, like I said, I did enjoy it aside from mainly its length and forced levelling system, I still think 2 was the pinnacle of AC, I loved Origins as wellgame was good but would be much better if they put like 40% of mandatory missions as optional and remove forced leveling up
Is that the dude who plays Cnut (see nut) in the Last Kingdom? This game's problem is that it has zero respect for the player's time.
Your game isn't nearly good enough to warrant a 300-hour playthrough, Ubi. After 2 hours you've seen literally everything the game has to offer - why would anyone endure another 298 hours?
Especially when the combat is shit, the stealth is poor and the story fucking sucks. Sigurd is an asshole and a gonk, fuck that guy.
I FUCKED YOUR WIFE, SIGURD. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT
Skill tree by committee, lol.Whichever developer thought it was a good idea to have

A gonk? He's such a fucking choom my ripper. This game's problem is that it has zero respect for the player's time.

Ubisoft had a lot of fat to trim on the assassins creed games but don’t.
I enjoyed odyssey as well and enjoyed all the 200 hours I put into it.I recently completed odyssey after 136 hours and I enjoyed it.
Will probably do the same when Valhalla hits gamepass.
The game is a series of Stories with some kind of Arc (fuck if I know what though, I don't even think its finished) thats contained within a larger out of Valhalla arc (Modern Day stuff)I’m still at the very beginning but I’m considering dropping it. Does the story at least get better after?
