Independent of the wider context, if those show well, it's going to be better than the PS Showcase personally especially re first party.

3 CG trailers, Helldivers 2 and then the Spider-man which was good (not for me and not cause of the gfx) however it's kinda in the same position of Starfield vs those MS games.

In the wider context, Xbox in general needs more than that but not to beat the PS Showcase. As Banjo64 says, more important they just need to release the games well.

Well the showcase can only "show games", right? Obviously they need to have a good showcase and then they need to release well otherwise the showcase means nothing.

Just want lots of high quality looking gameplay with accurate release windows. That’s all I want this time around (from their first party).

Don’t want no splash title reveals (even if it’s for a Banjo).

On to other hopes for this show -

Hades II trailer with release date

Any updates from Playtonic, Moon (they might not show for Microsoft) and Gears For Breakfast on their next games.

Yeah, MS doesnt need any more splash titles at the moment. The industry (seemingly specific parts of it) does need to figure their recruitment and how to deal with it but splash titles aren't going to be the solution imo.

My smaller hopes would include Moon studios but not likely, it seems like that relationship ended a bit badly. I do want a season two of As Dusk Falls, the likely Hi-Fi Rush DLC to be big enough to pull me back in and The Wandering Tower.

Hades 2 will probably get a Early Access date in SGF or PC Gamer showcase.

I wonder if Jason Schreier will publish another article soon.

Hope this time Xbox delivers on graphics front - for far too long Xbox's first party were more into "gameplay" rather than graphics (outside Forza)

Until you hear "just one more thing"
Trying to think what that would be true for personally aka what ip/dev would be big enough for me to compromise.

RGG seems like a cheat cause I would theorize that we see in their event later in the summer.

Gendesign is probably my most likely answer. Not going to be here for other reasons imo.

More likely, Hellblade 2 instead of Everwild.

I wouldn't say this is good though. I think it's the bare minimum.

Those games were supposed to all released by now. If they only show those games + Starfield (which was also scheduled to release last year and already had a deep-dive in the last Showcase), it won't be a good Showcase, in my opinion. It'll be very similar to the PlayStation Showcase, which was very average.

Xbox needs more than that.

They need to show raw gameplay footage of new unannounced fantastic games to make a difference and make their show better than PlayStation's.
Hell blade 2 and avowed took longer due to COVID. Not to mention that they got green lighted after the purchase. That is considerable time frame of why ita getting released at this stage.
At most, it's 2024 locked. So I wouldn't consider it a meh showcase.
If COVID hadn't happened, we would have a different showcase by now.

Over the years let's be honest Xbox has had more CGI than anyone but for them to say not one first party title is CGI that's one hell of a statement. It's also proof that Xbox is a lot more than this Activision merger, which some in the other thread have deemed Xbox last chance.

Anyway really looking forward to Sunday and hopefully seeing some impressive game's and maybe a shadow drop who knows?

That will only mean something to me if we get some dates in 2023 and not be told to wait until next year for things to get better

"Not Full CG" , so they will mostly show games that will be out sooner. Because i can't see them showing 2025 games already with gameplay. It will be a show with CG, Gameplay, in-engine/cinematic stuff. Otherwise he would say "None of our first party games in the show are Full CG trailers.".

Even sonys 1 hour long showcase struggled in pacing a lot, so 2 hours from Microsoft might be bit coma inducing.

90 mins for the showcase itself. 30 mins for Starfield. Seems fine.

More likely, Hellblade 2 instead of Everwild.

Where did you get the idea that all those games were supposed to have been released by now? None of them had a release date at reveal.

First party quantity and quality is what will make this showcase work. The idea that gameplay for an unannounced Wolfenstein 3, for example, is higher value than gameplay for Avowed which we’ve never seen is quite strange. Ditto for the likes of Perfect Dark, Hellblade 2 and Fable.

Also said some games shown will be more than 12 months out, so late 2024/25 is possible for future releases. My expectations now are through the roof, realistically how many first party games will they show? 6? Or more? All in engine/cutscenes or gameplay, I can't wait.

I'll believe it when I see it . After last year not getting my hopes up just yet . Hype is really building mine

Just Starfield and some Hellblade or Forza would make it already better than Playstation's one, but with the chance they were given, making it just a bit better than Sony's show would be disappointing

To be fair, they did show Halo Infinite's "in-engine" footage in 2018. The game was released in 2021. They also showed Hellblade 2's "in-engine" footage in 2019. The game still isn't out in 2023.

At least Halo Infinite upon release didn't look anything like the "in-engine footage" they showed 3 years ago.

So they can once again show in-engine footage for games that will release in 2025-2026. Upon release, they may or may not look like the footage shown on June 12, which kind of defeats the point of showing in-engine footage.

All publishers are guilty of this.

90 minutes seems like a long show, considering it won’t include Starfield. Hopefully there are a couple of deep-dives into 1st-party games due soon.

As this show is 90 minutes without the Starfield deep dive and we have an after show on top then there has to be a lot of content. We'll obviously get the updates for Minecraft, Fallout 76, Sea Of Thieves and ESO which will take some time as well as the games signed up for Gamepass.
I think it will break down like this,

Definitely there.

Forza Motorsport
Hellblade 2
Starfield as it has its own show.

Likely there,

Avowed
Fable
STALKER 2

Hopefully there,

Fable Collection
Gears Of War Collection
Contraband

Unlikely but possible,

Perfect Dark
Everwild
Indiana Jones
State Of Decay 3

New announcements,

Gears Of War
Quake
InXile Steampunk RPG
Wolfenstein 3

Probably Not,

Elder Scrolls VI
Outer Worlds 2

Wild Card megaton,

Banjo Threeie

Is there a thread for predictions or this one can be used as is?
Put mine in already.

Put mine in already.
Looks solid.

For me I would say

Fable
Hellblade 2
Forza Motorsport
Avowed

FO76
Sea of Thieves
Halo Infinite
TESO

Some known quantities like Replaced, Lies of P and (I forgot the name of that third person game where there is female lead character)
Maybe some GP releases like SMT collection or Persona 3 Remake (though it might not be in Game Pass)

I thought about Gears 6 but I doubt they can show any gameplay yet. Not having CGI means we won't get any far away announcement (like rumoured Quake for example)

I hope they won't have the pacing issue like in 2022, as in 2021 the pacing was pretty good.

I expect it to be 9/10 but not 10/10 as I don't expect big third party reveals there.

They can do an in engine trailer for gears like halo in 2018

Wasn't SMT on the Geforce Leak? I don't doubt that it would be ported to other platforms and with Sega and Xbox being buddy buddy as of late..I can kinda see it happen.
I am still wondering what was that Geforce Leak was considering how many games it got right that were not announced until years later.
