No rt for stadia? Or is always on?

Stadia runs an 11TF GCN GPU, so no, no RT on Stadia... :nougat_rofl: Stadia is literally last gen hardware. It often had trouble keeping up with the One X... so it is even surprising that it runs as well as they claim (although they specify a dynamic resolution for Stadia, so most likely it will not even run close to 4K on it, my bet is worse settings than One X but slightly higher resolution than its performance mode... so around 1440p)

RE 2 Remake runs at 40-45 fps on base PS4 and I have never saw anyone with issues in this matter. If you had problems in that game, then you will have problems here, but if not then it will probably be the same framerate wise.

It makes you wonder why they didnt just push a little harder and aim for 50hz mode. I mean most tv's have both 50hz and 60hz modes. It would mean the game would of still been very smooth.

The fuck? 45?

Why not just cap it at 30?

They probably were drunk and saw this in their hands.

Capcom better try to find a way to patch and release a RT+60 fps mode,of course they're gonna have to drop reso to 1440 or 1080 or something, but god lord 4K, 45 fps wtf ,this 45 fps thing is such a joke, when the fuck devs will understand that framerate >>> and more important and prime that resolution FFS?? Devs need to take notes from Insomniacs.

Is it ever 60 in R2R on base PS4?

What the heck is that 45 FPS lock? That's no mans land in FPS. Hopefully an RX580 is enough for an xbox one x equivalent experience.

Variable refresh rate seems to be needed for ray tracing on consoles then or is 45 fps okay if done with other techniques on consoles?

I know DF refers to VRR starting at 40fps, and maybe that's true on TVs, but on monitors even with hdmi 2.1 it seems like the cutoff is 45-48 on the low-end. Not good for a 45fps avg. framerate. Basically, Xbox would probably go adaptive sync here and give a smoother framerate but be tear city and PS5 will do a straight vsync and be stutter city waffling between 16 and 33ms but no tearing.

Certainly this must be a joke. Don't tell me Capcom would actually target a mode at 45fps. LOL

In other news, you heard it here first: XSS is the console to play RE8 on with RT at a nice, normal 30fps. But you don't want to play without RT on there, than it is shit.

Have to say I'm impressed Xbox Series S manages 1440p with this title. Very impressed.

Hoping it comes to GamePass day 1. I'll jump in.

I've got a XSS on order now as my baby step into next-gen. I would much rather have preferred 1080p/60 over the 1440p.

I think the some devs are going stir crazy due to Covid with some of these odd choices in settings on the consoles. I'm holding out hope this is some kind of prank.

How is Series S worse than PS4 Pro? It has more RAM, a much better CPU, and a supposed 1 - 2TF GPU advantage in practice due to the vastly more modern architecture.

Interesting, so the game is at least pushing the Xbox ONE S for whats acceptable quality.

Though i would have liked an option for 30fps/1080p on PS4, 45fps is probably better for gameplay but if its very unstable the iq may be a good trade off.

a stable locked 45 fps is a night and day difference compared to 30 fps. i actually just tried this on cyberpunk a couple of days ago. the fps would usually hover around 45 fps and making my gpu run at max at over 70 degrees celcius, so i figured id just cap it at 30 fps and up some settings, and it felt awful at 30 fps. like jittery as fuck despite being locked at 30.

locked it to 45 and it was way smoother. now of course, my tv has vrr and supports gsync as well so thats probably why it felt smoother, but as long as its locked at 45 you will see that its really not that bad.

They used different resolutions. The 30fps mode is listed with higher res on PS4 Pro, but the XSS is running RT at some level. And then XSS is running 1440p/45 instead of 1080p/60. Probably some other graphical differences as well since the XSS has more memory. The 45fps is a joke though, especially on PS4 because you aren't doing VRR there regardless. Without VRR, 45fps is going to be nauseating to a good few, especially if a vsync is enforced (though the tearing could also be a bother without it).

Interesting my guess is they prioritized the Sony consoles over the Series S

However, the quality of the assets may be much higher on next gen even if its without RT, we haven't seen a peoper comparison yet, but Village IS optimised for next generation so an increase in asset quality is likely that would explain the worse resolution Series S(nd apparently the cpnsole is designed with that limit)

What happens if you have your XSX set to 1440p? Does it just render at 4K and downscale or does it depend on the game and some output 1440?

My guess is because the game is built for the last generation. CPU and I/O advantage just won't be there.

I mean 1080p already looks okay-ish on my 4K TV. I'd much rather prefer 1440p or as high as possible resolution while maintaining rock solid 30FPS. 45FPS must be some late LATE April fools joke. I played at 45FPS before on PC and it makes me want to puke. Very confusing shit. Its like trying to jack off while grabbing a hot chicks ass and staring at a naked Margaret Thatcher. You dunno whether you're coming or going.
For linear story games I prefer 30FPS and every graphics option turned up to 10 where possible. There's no need for 60FPS in this genre.
Multiplayer or shooter games yeah then I'd welcome 60FPS any day of the week.

So all that Series X 4k/PS5 struggling at 1080p shit was indeed shit.

So the PS5 doesn’t struggle at 1080/60 you mean? 🤔
That was like, more than 8 months ago, he said Capcom was optimizing the PS5 version and struggling a little, wich could as well mean the 1440p 45fps Ray Tracing profile.

Also to Dusk credit the reveal trailer(supposedly running on PS5) wasn't exactly running like butter 🥞🤷‍♂️
