This got me thinking, they might make us to re-download the whole thing on Feb 2nd again with a fresh overhaul next gen patch?..I'll stay put, games currently like 70gs and probably will be bigger on patch drop.

I never played it, but I'm interested. I don't have a lot of people to play with though so I'll have to hope it's fun alone.
I did enjoy the atmosphere of the first game, but bailed out pretty quick, with little understanding of the gameplay concepts and no one to share the ride with.

1 is still my favorite but 2 is also a great game. Two of the best 3rd person cover shooters ever made.

Have a question, If i pick up the base game which is going on sale, would that entitle me to the 4K60fps patch or do I have to buy DLCs or another edition altogether?

Yes, I believe. But better check their channel or website to be sure.
Sony doesn't provide a way to patch PS4 games into PS5 versions (all devs can do with a patch is enable boost mode but it remains a PS4 game), so yes on PS5 it will be a full re-download.
Edit: so it looks like it's not actually a PS5 version but just an enhanced PS4 version, which sucks because it means no haptics or activity cards, but the positive is that it's a patch rather than a full download.

From my experience with Division 2, any fans of Star Wars are going to go through an avalanche of shit with this lot.
They fucking rolled out an optimisation station that required you to grind for fucking days for minor upgrades. Only after fans complained about the economy, they then decided to fix it in the next patch.
Like did anyone ever fucking playtest this thing before they rolled it out? And they do this all too often with any new features. Always fix something but the breaking 2 other things. They never fix one thing and move onto the next. They always break more things than they fix.
The Summit when launched was broken. Did they playtest that before launch? The loot system is also still broken.
Massive can suck a fat one. They're a bunch of incompetent twats.

Might be, Pro had DRS so could boost to 4k and set cap at 60fps, there is then no need for native version and re-download. Kind of like Days Gone and the like.

It's over 100GB currently on PS4. You're right thougg, but maybe it's just a framerate/resolution option, I hope it won't require a full download...

I'm very LTTP with this game. I got the base game for a buck over summer and just got the expansion for 8.99. just started it up this week and hit 40. must say i'm enjoying it quite a bit.

The first game sort of bored me, as I was playing alone, but I often think back on the awesome atmosphere they created with snow-filled New York. Does this game ever get close to that sense of place or atmosphere? I may jump back in if the answer is yes.
Hopefully they also add survival back, because that may actually be fun to play solo.
