Mandalorian Season 2 | DIsney+ | October 30th

Saw it last night. That shot of Boba back in the Slave 1 talking gave me nostalgic goose bumps. Though i know it was a different actor who played the original Boba Fett, him being really beefy in size threw me off a little. Couldn't they ask the dude to loose some weight a little?

Yeah, I wasn't really sold on it all. Plus I don't really have any nostalgia for the prequels though, so 'not my Boba Fett' more like Blubber Fatt to be honest. I guess the actor can't help it given his age, but still, it there'd a time to think 'maybe a recast is in order? given the events in the Mandolorian aren't that far removed from the RoTJ, that was it.

As for the episode...I didn't care for it one bit. I like the actress who played Fenik so her coming back was cool, but that cybernetics reveal was outright terrible, and Mando taking off his jetpack was just one contrivance too many. Plus...Mando's voice didn't feel like it suited his actions at times. I guess that's always added after the fact, but it still felt wonky. Also...did they pack those stormtroopers into that ship like sardines? And absolutely no threat at all. Serious A-Team Levels of no consequence to these fights. Dark Troopers looked stupid.

Not sure why they need Bill Burr of all people, but whatever. Wonder if Disney will use the finale as an opportunity to kill off Gina 🤔

Go Go Neo Rangers!
As a star wars fan that's not super into in terms of seeking out content and lore other than the main line stuff, I am really enjoying season 2.

You know, it's not totally unreasonable to think that an older, world weary, Boba Fett would have packed on a few pounds.
Temura still looks like he's capable of beating the shit out of anyone who pisses him off.

I concur, but he still looks a bit funny as Boba Fat.

pretty sure they were going for an out of shape older guy... it fits the past his prime theme.

yeah so far i'm loving this series. this is really the only thing i get to nerd out and best thing out of the star wars since rogue one.
This is the sequels I was looking for since leaving the cinema after watching RotJ in 1983.
Just give me a deaged Luke behaving like Luke would and not like some fucked up old bum, and I am happy.

Hell, even get Alden back as Han (he was amazing in that role, tbh) and let him play in an episode.

It's hard to believe they fumbled creating a proper sequel with the original cast when they were still young and able.

the ming-na wen parts were terrible. i like her but those scenes where they're running in the open and bullets are being shot at their feet are always the worst. like every power rangers episode did that shit.

That "cybernetic belly" and her showing it off as an excuse for being alive to the audience watching the show was so lame it was almost funny. I am still not sure what that was supposed to be? Are those mechanical intestines? LOL.

Rewatching the episode again and yeah, Mando taking off his jet pack was stoopid. We already know he can control that thing remotely. He should've got it, flown up to Grogu and lost the fight with those dark troopers.

Other than that it was still great, in a best episode of Automan kinda way.

I mean, I get that it’s been 20 years and Temuera doesn’t have his full head of hair anymore, but did they really have to shave off his eyebrows for some reason? Lol.

He looked so weird. Not bad weird. Not plot affecting weird. It was a neat episode. I just couldn’t stop noticing the space alien vibe. Baby Yoda was more natural to look at, lol.

I mean, here’s what he looked like in Aquaman, which was fairly recent.

This would have been much more normal looking.

My condolences if the actor was involved in a BBQing accident shortly before filming or something.

I wonder if we are going to find out what was up with the mythosaur necklace from the end of season 1 or if the show is going to conveniently forget that was a thing.

I thought he looked like a zombie.
What a weird choice of make up.

Maybe they’re trying to go with a ‘grievously injured from the Sarlacc Pit‘ kind of deal?

But yeah. Most makeup departments try to make their old actors look more vibrant and youthful, not make their pretty-good-looking-for-an-older-man actor look like a freaky, past-his-prime corpse.

I think anyone who's survived being in a Sarlacc Pit is bound to have scars, even when protected by beskar armor.

Still curious to see if they'll address it in the last two episodes.

Awesome art, but I think a more normal looking Temuera Morrison, just with a scar or two, would have been better. As is, I completely buy that he took a stomach acid bath, but I would have preferred that Boba just look more natural, and less freakish.

Not the end of the world, but something that bothered me.

What happens with age...., he's been in a sarlacc pit for god knows how long, cut him some slack

I think Boba Fett should look fucked up. Even ignoring his time in the Sarlacc pit he's had a long Bounty Hunting career where his reputation for violence was such that Vader had to tell him not to disintegrate Solo. He was probably littered with scars before the Sarlacc ordeal.

No love for Kyle Katarn? My dream outcome for this is Kyle Katarn is the Jedi that answers the call ;) he takes out the Dark Troopers and Season 3 is basically taking down Thrawn and his Tie Defender fleet...retconned Heir to the Empire Culminating with digitally de-aged Hammil vs LuuKe Skywalker and Jorus Cbaoth. Lol
I will shit myself if Kyle shows up. Like, that would be the greatest thing ever.

Its gonna be Ezra though.

We’ve already seen Ashoka and heard Thrawn mentioned. There are only two more characters from Rebels whose stories continued and haven’t been seen and Sabine isn’t a Jedi.

Ezra was on the other end of that Jedi call.

I thought the episode was great. Good fun. Who is agent may supposed to be though in this show? I must of missed that in season 1.

Man that was great seeing Boba in action, and holy shit Slave 1!

So right now were about to have Boba Fett and Mando going in Slave 1 to pick up Bill Burr to rescue a baby yoda. I mean fuck yeah haha.

Also I really like Temuera Morrison, he just brings this badassness with him I think gave the show a little injection of edge it was needing.

Good episode, it was kind of cool to see the force power being used at the shrine, and basically taking things we’ve seen in Rebels and Clone Wars and putting them in live action.

Was a rather short episode as well.

Really enjoyed this season so far. It's quite amazing how much they managed to incorporate during this season and use this show as a way to introduce some more and lesser known characters that didn't appeared in live action before. Even if riding on nostalgia train is usually a receipe for a potential disaster, they still managed to making it work well. At least in my opinion.

Especially when she could have simply moved behind the rocks instead of a long stupid sequence of running along the rocks.

I was hoping that it would be a clone and not actually Boba Fett. But it is fine either way, I enjoy the show and it is nice to have good SW again to talk about. I did enjoy seeing slave 1 flying around. It made me want to go and get my Lego slave 1 and fly it around.

I was really annoyed by

Him leaving his jet pack so he has no way to return to the child or follow when the empire abducts it. Felt highly manufactured.

We need to go back to fighting big monsters, those are easily the best episodes.
