I'm still not convinced these titles are on the same patch. My version says 1.02 in the info screen and not 1.04.

Can you check the in game achievement “Spare Some Change for Gas?”?... if it needs 1000 miles it is the new patch if it is 10000 miles it is old patch.
Edit - Steam already has patch 1.04 too... the achievement shows 1000 miles.

Apparently XSX version is getting patched in to address the issues brought up by DF. Perhaps this patch would make the game run 50% better than the PS5?

Dirt 5 does not look very impressive tbh. I have no doubt the new Xbox can handle the game just as well as the PS5. Must be a dev mistake or something. Nothing to worry about.

On a serious note, though, they chose to select lower graphic settings. I don't believe that's a 'bug'. More importantly, if they 'fix' it and add high graphics settings as they are on the PS5, it will likely affect the frame rates.
Unless XSX is running at 140-150 FPS currently in the 120 Hz mode, I suspect frame rate problems after the new settings.

I just find it amusing when people tried to have the narrative that one is way way better than the other. Meanwhile all along it's that both have been near identical in the real world performance. People with either consoles are getting a premium experience!

Devs should just start giving us PC style graphical settings to let us find our own optimal balance of performance and visuals
We are already doing half baked compromises between the two already. Maybe I want to keep the highest end car models and 120 fps but resolution is less important. Or maybe I want full 4k and 120 fps but will drop the detail

This isn't the PS4 OG vs Xbox One OG type disparity. That's when you can see the performance delta reflect in real world games. Not this new generation that we've entered.

I'm coming in here for one time to make this very important note. I'm being very careful with my words when discussing these things in videos. Do you know how much shit I've put up with after it turns out Xbox is massively underperforming?! Constant threats, harassment and even shit sent to my god damn house. All over these stupid plastic boxes. These people are insane and it's absolutely draining me. Now we have the opposite in this due to 'wording' that people read into. Just stop it.

I think it's fair to speculate about the frame rate hit the XSX version may take once higher graphic settings are deployed.

I was afraid of this, but recent tweets from the devs don't indicate a PS5 downgrade.
My conern is the frame rates on XSX. It's important to note that XSX wasn't hitting 120 FPS well at all in the beginning. Devs had to turn off V-Sync via a patch, so XSX could hit 120FPS. So it's already at the brink. V-Sync can affect FPS up to 10-20%. Higher settings will do it more.
Interestingly, the PS5 version still has V-Sync; XSX doesn't have it anymore.
