I don't get it. You linked to a post that completely debunks what you said.
just what he found nintendo is full of shit and we know it,.
why the hell would they say a new pro will come when they want to sell the damn animal crossing one?

same shit happened when we got the updated switch.

I still don't get it. He debunked all the times Nintendo "lied" and goes through and dissects the statement to prove that Nintendo meant what they said and that no new Switch model will release in 2020.

The Switch Lite was announced on July 10. E3 ended on June 13. No lies detected. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

There will be at least another revision for the OG Switch for sure, maybe even two.

But make no mistake they will be as similar as the New 3DS was for 3DS: incremental upgrades that improve a bit of everything, rather than a real Pro system as Xbox One X was for Xbox One. (where the hardware is completely different)

Yeah it won't be huge. The tech just isn't there for it either, unless Nvidia is planning to do something just for Nintendo but I wouldn't hold my breath for that.

The key is that Nintendo is usually very specific in what it denies, as in that case. They won't lie, but they'll say less than you think -- and then everyone reports it as "Nintendo completely denies X" which never happened at all. But in this new statement they're being unusually comprehensive and definitive about Switch hardware in 2020.

Typical PR bullshit. Nothing new

Mildly disappointed without being surprised. lol. Then again, I wouldn't be all that surprised if they put one out anyway because of some weird, technically true loophole in their wording, but I won't hold my breath. Like others have said, you don't lie to investors.

Until we actually see rumored hardware leaked from the assemnly line, there's no guarantees, no matter how much smoke we get from "insiders."

WTF. So apparently Nintendo told investors that there would be no Switch Pro. I've been holding off for a while. If this ends up being the case, which from what I can tell...seems to be how Nintendo plans on moving forward. I guess it makes sense. They are still selling the Switch and V2 very well. no reason to do a mid-gen refresh.

So suppose I should just get it then right?

Hmm, sure, okay Nintendo. Pretty sure Nintendo said the same thing a year ago and six months later - introducing the Nintendo Switch Lite. lmao.

I'm still 100% expecting Nintendo Switch Pro to be revealed at or after E3 and released in September.

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
Gamers are realizing that Nintendo Switch isn't the jarring experience it was expected to be like in the commercials, now Nintendo fans are hoping for better graphics (SWITCH PRO) and until that's a reality Nintendo fans will be disappointed.

Don't trust "insiders" on these things as they are wrong most of the times.

But if you want to avoid buying a console to then see the revision the week after, I recommend buying the system in winter, before or after the holidays, as they usually tend to announce these things on the fiscal year that follows so from April 2020.

Too bad. I would be interested in a Pro or similar with no portability.

I'd like a switch pro too but I've always wondered what the battery life would be on a portable that runs games at 1080p 60 fps.

I don't think it would be a portable to begin with.

Even if Nintendo did a Switch Pro (instead of just making more bundles and themed version of the Default and the Lite), they wouldn't launch it until Q3 2021 at the earliest. Nintendo smartly uses hardware re-launches and themed systems in tandem with big titles so that sales boost one another.

If they do a Pro, my guess is it'll launch with Breath of the Wild 2 and be the first game to natively support the Pro's performance boost mode.

I’m always reminded of something I read a long time ago, I think on the internet.

If you’re always waiting for these companies to release the next big thing, you’ll never stop waiting and miss out.

I would go ahead and pick up the system. There’s tons of great games at this point, and so much fun to be had. If there is some kind of a Pro next year, and you really want it, there’s always trade-in deals to get you in with minimal investment.

Possible they are gonna try to max out sales on current models and surprise announce it in the summer?

Or for sure, one hundred percent no way?

Lying to your investors is a no-no, and I believe, illegal. So definitely no Pro this year.

Didn’t this exact scenario play out before

Nintendo said there’s no such thing as a new 3ds or something. Or was it the DSi?

It was one of those systems - got announced a week later or something

Point is: no product exists until it’s officially announced

To me, that's an absolute confirmation it's coming this year. Too many examples of Nintendo PR straight out lying about upcoming products. A Switch pro might not becoming, but what about a Switch plus or another name for it. The gaming public will call it the pro, Nintendo will name it something else for Nintendo like reasons.

Nintendo isn't playing with our emotions. WE are doing it to ourselves. Nintendo never suggested that they were doing one.

I don't see the problem.

It's like buying a new PC around the time a new console shows up. Its nonsense. Wait a year before buying a new PC after a console comes out.

For now switch is sufficient.
1 more year and switch will be better than if it would release now and might have a better tegra.(spare me the and another year later even better and another year later even better bullshit)

Nobody is helped if switch pro is less of a jump than PS4 to PsPro was. And that was not enough IMHO.

SwitchPro at least needs to be able to play current switch games in portable 1080p. 1440p docked.

Everything else would be a total waste.
And even the smallest chance of having XSX/PS5 games on SwitchPro running at 540p etc. would be gone if it's just a 20% boost over current switch or something.

I don't think that's what we want.

I'm asking again.

How fast would the battery last when you play on a portable with games running at 1080p 60 fps?

I'm assuming you'd need base ps4 levels of power at least to pull that off.

LOL at mention 2021 instead.

First off if everyone here picked a date for the next Switch successor than someone would be right. "Its definitely coming in 2021 or early 2022 or somewhere between mid 2022 and 2050! I called it!"

Second a pro model is thee opposite of Nintendos motive, as clearly evidence by the Switch Lite.

What im saying is dont hold your breath.

As for Switch revisions: why not develop a TV-only rendition of it? Tiny console, of course without a screen, but the Pro Controller included? Since they have broken the idea of the Switch with the Switch Lite, I see no reason not to give people who prefer gaming on their TV that option. Sure, it is basically Nintendo's take on the PlayStation TV, but so what?

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
I can speculate too. There is no Switch Pro.

There will instead be a Switch 2, or next gen version in 2022 or later.

Well, we just had the 3DS, then the 3DS XL, and then the New 3DS (a 3DS "Pro"). Not to mention the 2DS, 2DS XL, etc.

The second you buy a switch will be when nintendo announces the new switch model.

The funny part is that if a Lite is $199 I would imagine a TV-only being $129 or less but then I remember the Pro Controller is $69 alone LMAO.

If they wanted to mislead us, that's one thing. But they told this to investors - they aren't lying to them.

Companies lie to investors all the time. It's simply how business works. Companies announce games and release dates knowing that they're not hitting those dates in order to get an increase in their stock prices. Announcing a Switch Pro now would only hurt their sales for the next 8 months but announce it in July and release in September ala Switch Lite (which majority didn't believe was happening either) would be a brilliant but expected move.

Has nothing to do with misleading us. It's simple business. Nintendo is making a killing off of Switch which three years later is still selling like hotcakes at $300. If anything, the Lite model is underwhelming. Switch Pro will happen for two main reasons - first being next gen ports. If fans/Nintendo want any hope of getting next gen ports to Switch, you need stronger hardware. Second reason being BOTW 2 and other Nintendo first party titles.

Switch is equal to maybe 360/PS3 and even then, probably not. Nintendo needs more powerful hardware to truly showcase their games and get more out of them plus the next gen ports.

Everyone can believe what they want but me, I 100% believe that a Switch Pro is being released in September for $400 and I sold my base Switch for $200 in preparation for it and even if by the very slim chance that it doesn't happen, I save $400 and put it towards Xbox Series X and PS5 launch titles. Either way works for me.

But in the end, right or wrong, I stand by my prediction.

Switch is 2x the powerful then 360/ps3. You also have to understand switch pro won't make sense for nintendo or ports because it has to target switch specs in handheld mode thats where 60+ million users will be so just be ready to buy a ps5 or xseries.

No, it really does not. Not like this. Release date projections needing to get moved back is one thing.

Flat out lying directly to investors that they are not releasing hardware is another. Especially because if they were releasing hardware this year, things would have to be in motion as we speak to hit that deadline. They'd be breaking laws.

Again, they can mislead us. They can not flat out lie to investors.

Lol, alright buddy. Good luck with that. There will not be a Switch Pro in 2020.

Nintendo needs strong titles to launch new hardware. BOTW2 should be almost ready by the end of this year, but I highly doubt that Nintendo will fight back the upcoming nextgen hype from Microsoft and Sony for holiday 2020. They already launched the Nintendo Switch in March, they can do it again in 2021. Anyway I'm not sure what kind of console/upgrade they are making. Going for a small console like the shieldTV how attractive can be after the launch of nextgen consoles? What level of power they need to stay into the 3rd party range? How many Switch users would spend about $300 again just to see their games improved? Personally I think a new Switch needs new features beyond the only hardware upgrade.

Guys, Amazon currently offers a Switch + free game of choice here.
I have a launch unit witch is heavily in use.
Should i take the chance to “upgrade” to the revisited switch, now that no PRO is coming anytime soon?

You could always sell it back when the new "pro" comes out..
