Aren't you the person who works at Best Buy and was debating whether it was worth buying GCU during the cellphone madness where you could get 2 years for ~$7?

And yes GCU is fantastic value especially when you pay $30 or less for 2 years of it lol

I grabbed a membership today while it is still on-sale for $30. I had a $5 reward cert also so I got a 2 year membership for only $25. That'll pay for itself with one game! Killer deal seeing as I buy most of my games from Best Buy anyway.

How long did it take you guys to get your welcome coupons in your email? I haven't gotten them yet, but I just purchased the membership today.

Hey guys sorry for the bump. Asking for a friend. He's got the yearly membership that he bought for $30. He's getting bloodborne for 48 usd after the 20% discount.

however he's getting 48 points for purchasing the game instead of the 2x the amount of points he should usually get as a member. Can anyone shed light on this? Hr contacted the support but they haven't been too helpful. He was told to call or talk to the store

Not sure how much this has been talked about as I know the discount on Halo Nightfall has been mentioned but it looks like BestBuy has made it a wider offering?



There are now 50 DVD's/Blu-Ray's that GCU members get 20% off, seemingly all videogame related.

Bit of an odd offering but I'm not complaining

Includes things like Tron, Resident Evil movies, Tomb Raider

Not sure if I should make a new thread about it as I doubt many people will care that much

What do you do when you want to trade something in but BB doesn't have it in their system?

I want to trade in the Borderlands Handsome Collection for PS4 but there's no value for it on their site.

You can do absolutely nothing. If there's no listed value, it has no trade-in value.

So I'm looking to preorder The Witcher 3 for the ten dollar bonus, but all the links to it are either dead or don't mention the 10 dollars. Is this still going on?

I'm considering running over to my local store to see if they have any preorder cards that mention the 10 dollars.

I went to trade in Bloodborne today and got and extra 30% trade-in on top of GCU. That's a crazy good deal considering I got all I wanted out of the game and it cost me less than a rental

Darn, just cancelled my $43 copy of TPP. Hope the CE comes with a case then. I would have kept the $43 to get the $10 and trade in the game to keep the case.

Got my Witcher 3 order in tonight.
Still have $50 in credit thanks to GCU.

Thanks for the info. I had checked these exact pages before but had not seen anything regarding the 10 bucks off. I now think its a problem with my phone browser or possibly the Best Buy app. Will check on my laptop later.

Can someone start a new thread for this ( I can't because I'm a junior). Best Buy is offering a VERY good deal on GCU with MKX and I'd hate for GAFers who don't have it (or want to jump to 4 years at a really cheap price) and also want MKX to miss out.

If you buy MKX at best buy this week and a gamer's club subscription you get a free $15 giftcard( so you are basically getting a two year gamer's club subscription for half off, pretty much the price it was at with the incredible cellphone deal in October if you missed it). If you buy the season pass with the game (w/ or w/o GCU purchase) you also save $5 off the original $30 value(basically you get a character pack for free I guess) You also get $10 back and $13 off the game if you preorder and I guess you can add that $5 Goro character you save on from buying at bestbuy too. That's around $50 in savings guys. Pretty good deal just thought I'd pass it along.

Also Watchdogs PS4 is $20 too (about $13 I think with gamer's club). Also 30% trade in bonus (40% w/GCU) remains this week too. This is new thread worthy. Help me spread the word please. Thanks.

If you started a new thread I'm sure a ton of people would answer you and you would help more discover this deal. GCU unfortunately has to be activated in store (one of the faults of the service). So I suggest get a preorder card and GCU card. As long as GCU is your first purchase and you link it to your my BBY account (you have to make one but it is free) you will get the discount on MKX. And if you bring a seasons pass card up with you you're going to be paying 48+30+25=$103 but you're getting back $25 in credit as well. :)

Got my GCU on Friday SO happy with it..I see that Code Name STEAM is 27.99 with GCU and I have a 5 dollar coupon that I Received for getting GCU that I can use in store, just not sure if its worth it for this game or I should hold off for it to be cheaper..Also, going to pre order The Witcher(Since you get the steelbook too) just not sure for what console, any suggestions?

Well I just bought mkx for $14 after all the free money they've given me for preodering games with them (and I essentially bought it for $4 as I'm getting $10 back) so I certainly didn't help. :)

They don't.

They hope that when you go in and buy these cheaper games, that you'll maybe by a MacBook Pro or some other high priced item.

It costs $30, so you have to spend at least $120+ to get your money back, that means your locked into spending your money at best buy as opposed to shopping elsewhere

If you buy a lot of games day 1 it's a great deal

How do you figure this? It's $30 with each new game getting a $12 instant discount so if I buy three games I save the price of the membership plus $6 over a retailer like amazon or gamestop (lol who buys from them anymore?). It works even better if those games give you $10 back which this page proved Best Buy is committed to staying with that model for at least this whole year (people where afraid it would end with Batman). Where are you doing your math?

Hmmm...be careful of that because you only get to order a title 3 times and now your ordering twice. I kind of don't understand preorders myself (especially non CE like you just did). The game and the $10 bonus isn't going to dissapear until the week of launch (and don't we have months to go until that title) so.....

In terms of pricing, GCU is basically unmatched. With that said, I'm done with BBY. Attempting to complete even the most basic transaction is brutal. It feels as though maybe 1 in 4 employees I've spoken with have even heard of GCU. As much money as I save at BBY when compared to GS, I am exclusively dealing with the latter. The Buy/Trade process at GS is profoundly easier.

Have you guys ever had any issues getting the extra 10% for trades at Best Buy with GCU?

I always get the 20% off when buying new games automatically, but today I went in to trade in The Handsome Collection on PS4 and I only got the extra 30% trade in promo that they are doing now! even after he plugged in the phone number associated with my GCU account.

Do you need to do anything special to get it to pop up or should it be automatic?

The site is showing I didn't get my "victory can be preordered" 500 ($10) point bonus from Mortal Kombat X even though I purchased it from their website days before it came out. I'm kind of mad about this so can somebody please help me? Thank you.

It takes about 10-14 days to show up in your account usually. It's not automatic.
