Looking forward to the Santos fight and Petr Yan. Santos could be close, Yan I was impressed with last fight I saw him in, so fingers crossed.

Will update as we go along before 235 which is (knock on wood) a packed ppv.

Sad that I missed the Phoenix card and thread with y’all. We actually had ESPN in the psych lobby but the other crazies wanted to watch “Beat Bobby Flay!” instead

I literally sat there thinking “wonder what’s goin down on GAF” right now as that card was on.

I just saw fhe results. Wow Francis. Wow Cynthia. Wow Felder

We all missed ya, TrainedRage TrainedRage sent search parties.

Was a decent event, same with this one, hopefully longer main. Starts early for US 11Am and 2Pm ET I believe.

People are underestimating the competition approaching Jon Jones. Walker and Santos got his number imo. He doesn't have a size advantage over them and they have insane power.

Walker, as in Johnny Walker? I’m not trying to diminish your post, but wouldn’t that fight be at least two years away, assuming everything went perfectly?

Don’t get me wrong he’s a beast. Santos scary too, but it’s just hard for me to imagine Jones not walking through either guy right now.

Jones’ granite chin (which I know doesn’t last forever, but he’s pretty fresh in fight years due to his time off) and otherworldly fight IQ (his greatest strength, imo) seem to always neutralize power advantages of opponents.

I’m wrong all the time, though. Watch, Jones will get Aldo’d against Smith now.

Oh i'm wrong all the time too. I'm just going off my gut and how my mind sees it happening. Basically the reach of gus but the insane power and athleticism were seeing in those guys.

Two fighters missed weight but their fights will go on minus %20 of purse. So full cards.

GSP unfortunately was before my time in MMA, but everything that I've seen and read points to a true professional and an MMA great.

He’s fighting at UFC Fight Night 145

He had fought just once a year in previous two calendar years, which is what I meant.

Had been much more active before that.

I think I’m remembering a steroid suspension now, though, or maybe that was the other Russian guy I used to mix him up with

Ya got me, tho

I think Johnny Walker beats Jones. Thiago Santos I'm not so sure about, but that could be his middleweight stint clouding my evaluation. I think he wins tomorrow though.

Am I wrong in saying that there are too many weight classes in UFC/Boxing etc? So many fighters can go up or down a division and do perfectly well. So what gives? I say remove 1/3rd of the divisions. Let's make this shit real.

johnny walker is definitely a powerful dude but like jon is just too skillful. walker is super athletic but hes rough in terms of actual technique and also id rather they build him up more and works on his skills a bit before they give him jones and they ruin another prospect instead of building them up correctly

So two interim title fights at that event

Yeah Kelvin Gastelum vs. Israel Adesanya for interim middleweight as co-main.

I don't mind it, some fighters can go up and down, when they fight at a natural weight class they perform much better and competition will make the divisions more exciting and competitive.

According to Dana, Tony turned it down

The money offered wasn't good enough apparently and he didn't want another interim belt.

I’m not saying next fight, but if he’s impressive in his next two fights, maybe 3 depending on if DC fights Jones again. He will get a title shot.

Would've rather seen Santos v Jones but Anthony Smith beat Volkan and so leap frogged him. So definitely possible jor JW, very athletic and just needs a few more convincing wins against higher ranked fighters to get up from his #15 rank.

Chris fishgold needs to watch his underwears, he's fighting a Teymur.

Ismagulov with comfortable decision, Alvarezonly had 4 weeks to prepare and I think he didn't want to a KO. He did headbutt Ismas hands quite a bit.

Khabilov doesn't do enough, Ferreira with a nice takedown reversal and the decision win.

Yan wins comfortably by decision. Dodson had a nice knockdown, but couldn't keep up with Yan.

No consistency as well, no - 1 for holding cage to avoid takedown.

Damn, that liver shot from Michal ended it pretty quickly.

Struve the skyscraper (7ft) submits Lima after losing first round.

The hammer next.

Honestly, I have no issue with Santos getting next title shot. I mean, I guess we gotta see what the final plan is for DC and Jones, but it's not like DC is gonna fight Santos for a title shot fight, and looking at the top 5 the only other guy is Gus, and I don't think he is fighting anytime soon.
