This is SSX (Trailer) + Uber Mondays

BT, my man. Trance will be so good for freeride.

As far as dubstep goes, I'm not a huge fan, but I'm going to drop so much Skream into my custom mix. And some Benga.

Glad Nero got a feature.

If I could only choose one song for freeride, it would definitely be Poor Leno. SO GOOD.

Heh, now that you've reminded me, I need to put some BT in that mix too!

I saw that and it put a smile on my face.

I realized that I'm going to do that in 3D and it broke my face. Literally. On my way to the doctor's now.

I just want a way to turn on the entire Tricky song every time I do an uber.

That is all I want. If I don't get it, I will stomp my feet like a little man child and still say SSX Tricky is the best in the series no matter how good this game really is.

I don't mind all the techno in the game. I just want it to fade out into ITS TIME TO ROCK AROUND TO ROCK AROUND *does 360 flip spin backflip* TO ROCK AROUND TO ROCK AROUND and then fade back to the techno music when I'm done.

The indie section of the soundtrack is epic. So glad The Hives are back. But it seems to me that most of the other genres are pretty similar which makes the indie section feel small. Oh well, I'd be upset except that I am just going to customize the shit out of the soundtrack by loading up a bunch of my own favorite tunes.

Here's a first pass at my custom soundtrack. Mostly rock/alt but with a little indie hip-hop thrown in. Plus an Anamanaguchi song.

Anamanaguchi - Mess
Arctic Monkeys - Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair
The Black Keys - Gold on the Ceiling
The Cars - Blue Tip
Childish Gambino - Bonfire
The Courteeners - Not Nineteen Forever
Das Racist - You Outta Know
Death - Keep on Knocking
DJ Danger Mouse / The Beatles - 99 Problems/Helter Skelter
Farewell Continental - Son of a Bitch / Son of a Whore
fun. - All the Pretty Girls
Girl Talk - Something, probably a few songs actually
Gym Class Heroes - Pillmatic or The Queen and I
The Hold Steady - Ask Her for Adderall
Justice - D.A.N.C.E.
The Last Shadow Puppets - Age of the Understatement
Less Than Jake - Summon Monsters
The Long Winters - (It's A) Departure
Matt & Kim - Daylight
Maximo Park - Russian Literature
Motion City Soundtrack - Pulp Fiction
The New Pornographers - Your Hands (Together)
OK Go - White Knuckles
The Raconteurs - Salute Your Solution
Rehasher - Five Extra Long Miles
Run DMC - It's Tricky
Silversun Pickups - Panic Switch
Sleigh Bells - Infinity Guitars
Spoon - The Underdog
The Swellers - Welcome Back Riders
Team Teamwork - Shutterbugg (Super Metroid)
Telekinesis - Car Crash
We Are Scientists - Inaction

Is there a link confirming that the demo was canned? I checked the Mercury City forums and they're still talking about it like it's on. It would be strange for them to suddenly can it.

I don't even think he knew there was a demo coming, no offense to Frankenstrat.

Also, just looking back at it now; why isn't the remix of It's Tricky on the listing in the OP?

Looking at that soundtrack, it seems a little slim, doesn't it? Maybe there are more songs. It could also be that It's Tricky hand't been added to the soundtrack when that article was written (magazine lead times are notoriously long).

As far as DLC goes, I would buy a genre music pack. LISTEN TO ME EA.

Why bother with that? The game can take any song you throw at it and remix it. There's no need to buy a music pack that will only work with SSX. Just buy music in general and upload it to the game. Problem solved!

Holy shat, I had no idea that the custom soundtrack wasn't a throwaway feature in this SSX. I'ma be in heaven. Freeride + Ambient = unf unf unf.

This is probably the best secondary feature of the game. Being able to fully customize the soundtrack with your own songs and still have it to the fade in/out when you get some big air and slam back down. It'll also scratch a bit when you grind rails, and if you make cuts it'll fade left/right a bit. I'm stoked. I've been listening to my preliminary custom soundtrack trying to get the idea of what I think will work and what won't.

Custom soundtrack:

Autopilot Off - Clockwork (on repeat)

I shall then revel in SSX3 nostalgic bliss. I would've liked to have it ramp up to the chorus when i'm doing well like the on SSX3, but oh well.

Looks like terrain deformation (or at least, "the wave") is back, if you look very carefully. It looks much less pronounced and there's no awkward momentum-killing pause now. Much better than when it was originally shown in earlier videos.

You can see it in that gameplay trailer too.

Most likely just an oversight but a GameSpot store here in Ireland was advertising both Eddie and Mount Fuji as pre-order bonuses for either verson of the game. No where on the poster does it say that Mt. Fuji is PS3 exclusive. The positioning of the game cases on the poster did focus more on the PS3 version though. Again, probably just a mistake but I'd be happy if the Mt. Fuji stage does end up being available for 360 somehow.

As with most pre-order DLC, I imagine within a few months I bet both Mt. Fuji and Eddie will be available for purchase to those that don't have them already on both platforms.

If EA was smart, they would make Mt. Fuji available on both platforms, but only to those that buy an original copy of the game. I'm much more in favor of this kind of thing than pre-order DLC, since it's not really feasible to get all the Pre-order DLC. Though that is technically possible if you don't mind returning a bunch of copies of the game once you redeem their bonus items.

Also, only 42 days away!

I believe in Europe the pre-order versions of the game are "Limited Edition" and come with Mt Fuji for PS3 and Xbox.
Hmm, would be great if Mt. Fuji came to both platforms.

Do we know how the custom soundtrack mixing will actually work? Will it actually remix tracks on the fly or is it more just they add a crossfade? How will it work on 360, will you import tracks or play them through the guide like every other game? How can it control and mix if this is the case?

??

So for Xbox only people to get Mt. Fuiji is to buy the LE edition? That's a bizarre setup. Is that just in Europe?
Going off no information whatsoever... perhaps this will be a situation where Sony has purchased Mt. Fuji as a PS3 exclusive only in the US, meaning it will be released on both platforms elsewhere. Kind of like the reverse of the "exclusive" L.A. Noire case that was only available for PS3 owners in the US only, and not available anywhere else (though I think it eventually was released as standard DLC).

There's actually a similar situation with another EA game: Mirror's Edge. The PS3 got the "Pure Timetrial" map that the 360 never got.

Looking good.

Is this 60 fps?
They have insanely high standards to live up to, I loved SSX to death on the ps2.

Please god be responsive and smooth like the original.

Also lol that trailer. WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WUB WUB WUB

No PC version? :(

Man, that sucks. I'll probably pick it up on the cheap for one of my consoles, but it'd be a day 1 if it had a PC version. It looks like it's come a long way since the reveal.

This is probably a ridiculous question, but is there any way to play this competitively without having to do over-the-top tricks? I've never liked how the series has gotten further removed from reality. Awesome to a point, but once the board is coming off and being thrown around because of some strange button combinations, I begin lose interest.

I wish someone would make a more grounded snowboard game, a la Skate.

"Tricks give you boost! Boost gives you speed!"

Also, the button combos to do the tricks aren't strange at all. In fact, they are really simple.

This is the case for me as well, in Australia. Was going to buy the PS3 version, just for the extra level but now I don't have to.

The new videos every Monday are great. Hope they do a campaign video soon as well. Early March can't come soon enough!
