Black Ops being in the GOTY running just shows what GT had to do to get those exclusive trailers and stuff.

and galaxy 2 not being there tells us that they aren't in with a chance of getting a 'world exclooooosive' for skyward sword.

LMAO @ Daniel Craig in Blood Stone. That has to be a joke nomination. He was so wretched and uninterested you couldn't even tell it was him.

GT gave Black Ops a 9.6 in graphics. That's all you need to know.

Blizzard is also releasing cataclysm which is in closed beta, blizzard still has a shot at best studio.

Starcraft 2 has to win best PC game. Civ V is good but multiplayer is broken and there are no campaign scenarios at all so single player is purely skirmish.

Best RPG
Fable III (Microsoft/Lionhead Studios)
Fallout: New Vegas (Bethesda Softworks/Obsidian Entertainment)
Final Fantasy XIII (Square Enix/Square Enix)
Mass Effect 2 (Electronic Arts/BioWare)
Why is FFXIII there? Ressonance of Fate completely decimates FFXIII in all possible aspects.

if anything deserves to win on that list, it's Jennifer Hale for her performance as Commander Shepard

so good, one of my favorite VA's ever <3

lol now that G4 is gone, Spike is gladly stepping up to the responsibility of being the biggest joke in the gaming industry. :lol

wtf is this shit. Who asked for this? Who wants it?

damn... Castlevania got boned. :(

I don't expect Castlevania to get nominated for such things like game of the year, but for it to not even be nominated for best score blows my fucking mind apart.

I'd really love a new Epic Zelda trailer but we won't see it again untill E3 2011 at this rate. :lol

who is Emo-Beas?
Best Performance by a Human Male
Daniel Craig as James Bond (James Bond 007: Blood Stone/Activision)
Gary Oldman as Sgt. Reznov (Call of Duty: Black Ops/Activision)
John Cleese as Jasper (Fable III/Microsoft)
Martin Sheen as Illusive Man (Mass Effect 2/Electronic Arts)
Nathan Fillion as Sergeant Edward Buck (Halo: Reach/Microsoft)
Neil Patrick Harris as Peter Parker/Amazing Spider-Man (Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions/Activision)
Rob Wiethoff as John Marston (Red Dead Redemption/Rockstar Games)
Sam Worthington as Alex Mason (Call of Duty: Black Ops/Activision)

The obvious choice for anyone who has played ME2.

he did a great job, but rob wiethoff as john marston or andy serkis as monkey were better performances, imo.

I think people need to realize that a. they're catering to their audience and b. this is really more of a popularity contest than a panel of experts trying to find the most objectively best games of the year. I'll probably tune in for the debut trailers and the awkward spectacle of it all, but I couldn't care much less about the nominees or winner.

Why For?

Although I mentioned the AIAS, my post in the GOTY thread the other day was almost spot on for GOTY except for Mario Galaxy 2? How the fuck is that not nominated?

In terms of those AIAS Awards, which I consider the 'Academy Awards' of gaming.

It's going to be between:

- Super Mario Galaxy 2
- God of War 3
- Halo Reach
- Black Ops
- Mass Effect 2
- Red Dead Redemption

I think the winner will be Mass Effect 2.

My personal choice from that list?

Halo Reach or God of War 3.

Seriously, how is SMG2 not there?

Metroid: Other M (Nintendo/Team Ninja/Nintendo)
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (Konami / Kojima Productions)
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (Nintendo/ Level-5)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo/Nintendo)
Final Fantasy XIII (Square Enix/Square Enix)
Kirby's Epic Yarn (Nintendo/Good-Feel)

Oh, come ON, Spike. I know this award show is purposely bad, but no amount of Mountain Dew plugging can distract from 9 slots out of 100 or so.

Shitty list if you don't really care about western-made games.

Spike should crown its ass. No need to play it first.

I mean, haven't they seen the rainy gif?

This horrendous awards show is actually still here SEVEN freakin years later?

I remember watching the first one. The fact that they announced the Game of the Year as the first award of the night says it all.

Or if you care a little more for balance. Really, where the fudge is Dragon Quest IX?

It's far from my favorite game in the series, but I agree. Game got some surprisingly excellent reviews in the western press, and did fairly well for itself.
