Japan, represent!

...

......

.........

Metroid: Other M (Nintendo/Team Ninja/Nintendo)
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (Konami / Kojima Productions)
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (Nintendo/ Level-5)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo/Nintendo)
Final Fantasy XIII (Square Enix/Square Enix)
Kirby's Epic Yarn (Nintendo/Good-Feel)

Oh, come ON, Spike. I know this award show is purposely bad, but no amount of Mountain Dew plugging can distract from 9 slots out of 100 or so.

How many western games feature in Japanese VG awards shows?

FF XIII getting a nomination tells me that these nominees were picked at the start of the year and were never played.

Hmm let's see.

Not only Super Mario Galaxy 2 is missing from the GOTY contenders (something that is really, really hard to justify) but it is being listed in the action/adventure category!?

Seriously guys...

Seriously this nominee list is a mess. GOTY list is missing some key games. If they actually had a rule about limiting the number of nominees it wouldn't be so bad, but the VA categories have 8 nominations each.

Unreleased games were nominated, like Donkey Kong Country Returns, but Gran Turismo 5 doesn't even find it's way to being nomination for Best Driving Game.

The Best (SYSTEM) Game category seems to be about exclusives, and yet RDR finds its way onto the PS3 list.

Shaun White Skateboarding was actually nominated for something. Seriously. Shaun White Skateboarding.

"Best Song in a Game" is a pointless category.

Heavy Rain nominated for Best Graphics. :lol

From what I hear, reviewers have had DKCR for a while now, so I assume adjudicators could play it. I assume not the case with GT5.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

No Gran Turismo 5..? did they miss the Neogaf show..?
it'll be out before the show airs, but they obviously didn't get it into the hands of the judges in time to get it considered for the awards like DKR.

No Bayonetta?

They had to change action to action/adventure just to keep her out.

Just because Japan has biased assholes doesn't mean we should.

Next thing you're gonna want holographic cartoon characters at US pop concerts?

Finaika said:
What's wrong with that?

Uncanny Valley.

Also, the game looks good until it's in motion.

I'm kinda mad they didn't make a best story category.

It would've been hilarious, probably even more than GT's from last year.

No Bayonetta. Super Meat Boy not in the DLC game category. A bunch of new games in some categories but not others. Terrible like always from Spike.
