Every gen I build a PC mid way through the gen to play games at 60 fps and tbh, see what the fuss is all about. Did it with half life 2, then for crysis and again for metro exodus after seeing Alex jizz all over realtime global illumination. And it's the same underwhelming experience every time. i expect a generational leap and never get it. well, with the exception of Half Life 2 which tbh is probably the best shooter ever made. every other game hyped by pc people on forums just fails to live up to expectations. i remember being extremely underwhelmed by Crysis' lighting. i turned off ray tracing in metro so many times, rebooted the game and tbh, couldnt tell the difference.
And now with cyberpunk. I had everything on high and even at 1440p and 30 fps the game didnt blow me away. it's not next gen. it's a stellar looking game and the city is easily the most impressive urban city created this gen, but i was expecting my jaw to drop after all the praise from DF.
I think RDR2 takes the win this gen and thats a game running on a 1.3 tflops x1s. i am struggling to see how cyberpunk is better. RDR2 does everything better. Not just the world design. Animations, level of detail, facial animations, cinematography, atmosphere, NPCs, everything. Just like GTAV the gen before looked better than crysis. thankfully because its multiplat and on PC, it doesnt get dismissed like sony exclusives.
