Mario does not forgive.Okay, so...I got 120 stars in Mario 64 again. It's probably the 20th time I've done it now. I love that game. It's still fun all these years later. Good times!
Then, I excitedly started in on Mario Sunshine.
I remember now why I never played the game again once I collected all the Shines in the game back when it came out. It's by far the most frustrating Mario game I've ever played. I honestly believe obtaining some of those shines back then may have permanently shortened my lifespan.
I've 100% completed Sunshine before, but I cannot allow myself to be subjected to that torture a second time.
Mario, I am sorry...

I remember now why I never played the game again once I collected all the possible Shines back when it came out. It's by far the most frustrating Mario game I've ever played. The stress of obtaining some of those shines back then probably permanently shortened my lifespan.
Completing Mario Sunshine 100% before was something I'm proud to have accomplished, but I cannot allow myself to be subjected to that torture a second time.
Mario,
I am sorry, my friend...

Mario,

3D World was too safe and lacked too much excitement to be anything really special imo.
It a good game and a really good Platformer but it was bland in comparison to other 3D Mario's.
Any rumors as to the next character?
It'll be Monster Hunter guy/gal from Monster Hunter. Hope I'm wrong, so I'm probably right.
It's best 3D Mario, if you're in it for the platforming. 8 way controls feel laser-precise. And the 4p aspect was brushed off but it should be considered a feat. 4p 3D Mario? C'mon man, you know the thing. Why is this not taken into consideration? Hur hurr lemme be P2 and collect star bits with my Wiimote while you bing bing wahoo BEST 3D MARIO GAME.About 3D World, I’ve come to appreciate it a lot more. It felt like the right Mario, but the wrong time, you know?
In 2013, with Nintendo just stepping into HD with some gorgeous results, what I wanted was a Mario game that was a showpiece for the system. I wanted a free camera. I wanted amazing visuals in a traditional style. I wanted gigantic environments to pan around and explore. I wanted Odyssey, lol
Moreover, Nintendo continuing a handheld design based around casual, simple fun, on console, after the back-to-back spectacle of Galaxy 1 and 2, didn’t sit right with me.
On its own merits though, I feel it is an amazing game, and I really feel like the upcoming Switch rerelease might finally be ‘the right time’.
RingFit needs a sequel.Ring Fit Adventurer needs to get in!
I've changed my mind.
Give me a Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE character so it is simultaneously Fire Emblem and not Fire Emblem.

The Bowser DLC better be good, though, or I'm skipping.

But the thought of a giant Ring monkey going OHHH KAAAYY!!! across the screen in a Final Smash makes me grin.

Is there an iconic Monster Hunter character or player avatar? Monster Hunter would be a good synergy at the moment, but I don't know if there's a design that's recognizably "Monster Hunter!"
Give me Shy Guy!
They all exist on a spectrum, of sorts, and 3D World definitely seems like the "purest". Doesn't mean it will be everyone's favorite Mario, of course. I think it'll remain pretty obscure / unpopular and won't ever reach the adoration of SM64 or SMG, or even Odyssey.I very well might not be. 64 and Sunshine, alongside the Galaxies, both changed my thinking on what a Mario game could be, with the former pulling towards exploration, and the latter pulling towards just sheer overjoyed, magical fun in gameplay .
All have truly amazing platforming (maybe 64 a little less?), but yeah, it’s not 100%, all the time. 3D World might be the purest Mario in quite some time.
I just don’t necessarily think that equals best Mario anymore. But I totally understand if you do. Comparing these games is like comparing the most delicious chocolate cake of your lifetime, to the most perfect cheesecake anyone ever tasted. Nobody is wrong. Everybody is winning.
Multiplayer extends the life of these games significantly, especially since this one has drop-in mp. It might not be on your radar now, but someone who might not be interested to replay 3D World solo could be convinced to have another go in 2p (or 4p) mode, just for the spectacle of it all. I played through the game solo but continue circling back on levels when playing w my kids.4P simultaneous 3D Mario is indeed a feat but the thing is it's a feat I don't give a shit about lol. I'm not buying these games to play multiplayer. 3D World is still a fine game though.
Play with two joycons, cowardI don't have friends so multiplayer doesn't do a whole lot for me.

I hope it is another Fire Emblem character for maximum salt.
New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe Penis
Lotta 3D World fans point out how the post-game content is much more challenging / interesting, while detractors mention that the main campaign is fairly easy.I GUESS
My kids aren't really old enough to play with me yet but my daughter loves watching. We finished Mario Galaxy a few weeks ago, then we started Galaxy 2 the next day and she was very distraught that the princess was kidnapped again hahah.
WHY DO YOU KEEP CALLING IT THAT
I like 3D World but i think the game is held back by some things.3D World was too safe and lacked too much excitement to be anything really special imo.

But there's actually a much harder difficulty mode available from the start, called 'Cat Herding Simulator'. Unlock it by giving each of your kids a controller and a cat suit and then attempt to finish the stage without losing all your lives.
Tiki would be a cool pick. Magic user.I'm game for it being Adult Tiki or Seiros.
Because that's what it's called - if it wants me to call it anything else it needs to have a less stupidly long name.
3D World sounds like it was aimed directly at N64/Gamecube ears don't you think -Arcadia- ?
Btw, I’m not sure this even qualifies as music anymore, it’s so weird, but I absolutely love how playful and fun this track is. A complete earworm I was humming for months.
So much of the music is like this. And I absolutely adore that sax that plays over the world with the Goombas just chilling in their floaties, lol, but sadly can’t find it.
