The naming is so confusing. I find it very hard to follow. I don't even know what I have to read after the 3rd spiderman book to get more miles.

You guys should check out Collider #1. It's fucking stupendous and easily the best sci-fi comic I've read in a long time. It's vibrant and the writing so far is smart, throwing in jargon and world-building elements but not simply smashing readers over the head with it.

No, it's in the Peter Parker run of Ultimate Spider-Man. I'll try and look up the exact issues. He appears in Ultimate Spider-Man 95 and one or two subsequent issues I think and like I said he's also in Ultimate Comics: Avengers which wasn't really bad, but pretty average.
Miles is confined to the current Ultimate Spider-Man mostly, with a small part in Ultimates around issue...15 or so. Could be wrong.
There haven't been any new issues. Next one is in August.

#12. Seems they're doing a 6-issue chunks. The time-off between those 6 issues gives Fiona Staples more time to draw the next few, which hey, cool with me. I'll wait for consistent artistic quality.
Her art was one of the reasons I gave the book a shot. She does great work. I love the #8 cover. I might see if I can find a single issue on ebay or something.

Just got through Fearless Defenders. Turned out to be surprisingly good. Better than the rest of the series has been so far, in fact. It seems like the book is finally starting to find its footing.

This was the first issue that makes me think this book can be excellent. WOW!
I saw a cover of Venom on someone's pull list this week. Does anyone keep up with this series? It looks like it got great reviews on Amazon (the paperbacks), but it doesn't seem like many people here keep up with it. Is it worth starting? I love me some spider-man.
Also, I just got the Nood HD+ and am trying to get used to reading comics on there. Does anyone else read it holding it horizontally instead of vertically and then scroll through? I need seeing the detail and the screen isn't quite big enough to see it all on the 9" screen. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

From what I see #12 shipped in April. Looks like there was a 3 month break between the first two 'arcs', and now a 4 month break before the third.
I am. Reminder's run on the book is goddamn amazing and should be read. This current run started off kind of iffy but seems to be finding its footing. Shit just got real. The run has very little to do with Spidey outside of a few cameos from Peter and a Spider Island tie in issue or two.

It seems you liked darker comics, so maybe the recent Batman arcs like Court of Owls and Death of the Family. They were pretty enjoyable. Maybe Locke & Key if you want some horror. Spawn is still an ongoing series right now, but I haven't read them.

Sticking to the more recent stuff:
- Astonishing Spider-Man and Wolverine (6 issue miniseries)
- Old Man Logan (Wolverine #66-72, plus the Giant sized one shot. This was from the second ongoing Wolverine volume in the late 2000s. There was also issues #66-72 from the first volume in the 90s. Not that.)
- Wolverine and the X-men #1-7
- Uncanny X-Force (vol. 1) #1-35
I'd easily recommend any of those.

It was quite good. I think the series started out great, stumbled a bit with the limbo arc, but now it's getting back on track.
I also thought Pandora #2 was a solid read. Two for two so far for a series I thought was going to suck.

Wish i picked up the Batman Annual, but i felt like i was buying a shit ton already, especially since i haven't been to the store in like 3-4 weeks. That's okay though cause my store had like a billion copies so i'm sure they'll have more whenever i go next time. Also I just realized i was missing Daredevil #28.
Superman Annual #2 - ehhhh. It was okay, I guess. Though i did think it was gonna be a done-in-one and i'm not interested enough to keep reading. Jurgens's art was decent.
Suicide Squad #22 and Supergirl #22 were both good. Shame Ales Kot is gonna be off SS and Mahmud Asrar is already of Supergirl. Diogenes Neves is still pretty good and underrated though.
A+X #10 - really solid, fun issue all around. Never read any Empowered but I liked Adam Warren's art here

There's a bunch of Ultimates books, you're best off reading Vol 1 and 2 by Mark Millar. Ignore anything Jeph Loeb ever did, it's terrible.
The Ultimates have been around for a decade now, there are a bunch of series about them. If you have any more specific ultimates questions do shout, I think I might have read everything in the universe (bar the x-men stuff which I never got into). Lots and lots of great stories in there.

Quick lowdown - the first Ulitmate Spiderman series was Peter Parker and ran for over 150 issues. While this was running, there were also a bunch of other stories - The Ultimates (which is the avengers-esque team), Ultimate X-Men and a bunch of mini series and one shots (including a great Galactus trilogy, and a so-so evil Reed Richards trilogy).
The "Ultimate Avengers" story that was mentioned was a series of 4 mini series set in the Ulitmate world. Sounds confusing, isn't really too bad in practice, it was just another branch in the Ultimate line of comics.
When Peter died they did a soft-reboot of the Ultimate line and bought in the Miles Morales character - an easy way to tell if it's a Miles or Peter USM trade is the colour, most of the Miles trades I've seen are black. It's still a relatively new series, I think that book 3 might be the latest one, book 4 at the most. I think that if you've not read it, Spider-Men would be the next book in the Miles Morales trade series.
Ultimate Spider-Man is still being published. Other stuff is going on in the Ultimate universe in other books, but you don't NEED to know about it, just investigate if you're interested.

Basically, the physics laws in the world are starting to break so a Federal Bureau of Physics is tasked with, so far, welding gravity tears. The FBP is still fairly new in the story and it seems like there's a specific reason for the gravity tears and something big, alternate-world style maybe, is trying to come through.
There are also a lot of nice character touches in it already, so it's not just sci-fi horseshit-talk.
Klarion the Witch Boy, which is just one comic in a larger Morrison event--Seven Soldiers of Victory (which is a really overlooked event that everybody should read).
The Shade, which is James Robinson's year-long Shade story from Starman that has a lot of great art alongside the excellent writing, and Irving does a few issues.
Batman & Robin, in which Irving handles the Joker arc and absolutely kills it.

So it looks like I'm about to get into comics again. I recently went to a comic book store to pick up the latest Smallville S11 graphic novel and I also picked up vol 1 of that latest Birds of Prey for my girlfriend. I gave it to her and she took a while to start reading it but once she did she was hooked. Now shes going to her library and checking out a lot of the new 52 and telling me about things from them. She also recently read Green Arrow: Year One which I told her I love. I also just picked up Vol 2 of Birds of Prey for her.
Anyways I'm obviously going to be reading Flash because he's my favorite hero and probably some of the new Green Arrow (even though I have a lot to catch up on), but anways, besides Justice League of America which recently started...
Are there any new comics from DC coming out soon that might be good to pick up? Also are there any existing comics in the new 52 that just started a new story arc that I could pick up with out having to read the back issues? I tried asking this at the comic book store but this girl who was working there had no clue what I was talking about and proceeded to just look for comics that "recently started up". Also if we're talking Marvel, I'll go with something Spider-Man related.

as far as recent stuff, Superman Batman #1 just came out last month, Superman Unchained by Scott Snyder started last month. There should be a new wave of books coming out in October after September's "villains month". The new Batman story arc " zero year" is only on its second issue.
