Mother of God
While the actual game's fidelity identical, that perfectly anti-aliased screen comes courtesy of down-sampling nearly 4K images.

Hum....I had a PS3 back then and Uncharted DF looked better than Gears in my humble opinion, this was the best looking game at the time prior to Crysis.
Given that Crysis 3 is not a next-gen title I expected better from Killzone PS4. Crysis 3 is still a game rooted in current-gen mind you.
Not to downplay the graphics of this new Killzone, it looks (to me) better than Crysis 3 maxed out on PC, but by a tiny margin.
And the fact that it only used 1.5bg of VRAM is not surprising in the least.
To my mind Watch Dogs is the true graphics milestone of the show.

That IQ is insane. And if they're pulling out those textures and the overall graphical quality with early devkits with 1.5GB VRAM the final build will be ridicolous. And that's just a freaking launch game. Imagine how SSM's and ND's effort will look.

That IQ is insane because those are 4K images, cleaned up and downsized to 1080p The game won't look like that.

Those aren't bullshots. You must have never watched Fallon then when they demoed it.
Except that the gameplay video looks as much as impressive.
Bullshots don't exist in this case. Game is identical.
Only thing that will look different is the resolution. The assets, textures, AA, etc will look the same. The demo looked insanely good, as good as those shots to me actually lol.
With the PS4's specs, it's not like it can't handle it.
But it does look like that, lol.
Very true.2560 × 1440 ≠ 1920 x 1080
Watch Dogs screens are Bullshots, That is how it looks in the uncompressed trailer though, I said it a few pages back theres a lot missing in those compressed vidPeople still using bullshots as actual screen captures. Times never change.
Watch Dogs? Not that I'm trying to shit on your opinion, but Watch Dogs if anything looks
more current Gen than KZSF by a mile and a half. In KZSF, I'm seeing some effects that are not even being done on PC. In Watch Dogs, I'm not seeing anything more impressive it's doing over current gen, it looks like a PC version of Grand Theft, or Sleeping Dogs, and on top of that they are DEVELOPING for current gen consoles as well. Again not trying to shit on your opinion, I'd just love to hear what makes Watch Dogs, a cross gen title more impressive than a Next gen Killzone, cause I'm not seeing it.
Watchdogs looks great, but I thought it's visuals were less impressive than pretty much all the titles at the show...the city in KZ impressed me a whole lot more, and infamous, if representative, looked more detailed and had more distinct lighting. Isn't Watchdogs a cross gen title? Although it seems to be ported down.
But it doesn't, lol. There's footage of it were you can clearly see the jaggies and not so hot textures. Someone had even posted screenshots.
Jaggies? sure. Textures? looks similar.
So now you admit those are bullshots?

Character models, effects, textures and lighting are what impress me so much, oh and the animation as well. I'm not seeing anything new in the KZ footage, the assets are what I would expect from a decent next-gen game, nothing more.Watch Dogs? Crysis 3 is all textures, PC games are all textures actually its just one of the benefits I guessPersonally, I think textures in Crysis 3 are currently more impressive overall, but geometry wise KZ definitely has it beat. Even on the character models in crysis you can see some rather angular features.
Looks way better than GTAV and Sleeping Dogs. And the city in KZ is non-accessible, of course it will look good. The city in Watch Dogs is open and they have to go into a whole lot more detail.
You can't compare a huge open world game with linearly focused game like KZ where they can control most of what the player sees.
It will: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=48153149&postcount=700That IQ is insane because those are 4K images, cleaned up and downsized to 1080p The game won't look like that.
Watch Dogs is indeed a cross gen game with the next-gen platforms as lead. And I stand by what I said, I watched the KZ footage multiple times and while it looks lovely, it did not it nearly as impressive as the Watch Dogs demo.
I don't know why but the water rendering is a detail that's scarved upon my brain :
2560 × 1440 ≠ 1920 x 1080
The only impressive thing going on in that entire screenshot is the water.
The buildings and geometry itself look like hot poo poo.
People need to stop thinking that the graphical leap will be the same from ps2 to ps3, we were impressed before because we went from SD to HD but this time around is more about refining that HD experience, better particle effects, better weather implementations, better animation, better textures and so on, I mainly game on PC and I'm very impressed in how the new killzone looks, the 30 frames lock might be a downer for some people, specially the ones that game on PC but to only console gamers that are complaining is just dumb, you never seen the difference and all the sudden it sucks because it runs at 30? A 30 frames per second game can look outstanding with the right ammount of motion blur, there are some games that you can barely see the difference, on the other hand is great that console games will finally run at full 1080p, IMO that's a bigger deal, you can get around the feel of the game with some effects but the IQ difference between 720p and 1080p is huge, so I'm pleased with this direction and day one for me!
An image with heavy depth of field doesn't prove much.
The IQ on Killzone is just ridiculous. Haven't seen anything like it.
Really? Come on you're exaggerating. What other open world games out today look so good to make them look like "hot poo poo" hm?
I tell you, once the game is out, someone will eat crow. I'm willing to bet my avatar for month, that's how sure I am that KZ won't look like that.
We will have to wait and see, but Infamous seemed to rendered using the engine, and looked more impressive from what was there to me. Still, I think WD looks very impressive.

The demo already looks unbelievably good, that's all that matters.

It at least shows the quality is pretty much par for the course. Which is the point.

No, the uncompressed footage shows jaggies and shimmering lines. Early demo footage, but they really need to add some nice aa in the end.Yeah, but those screens are taken from compressed videos.
PleaseI'm gonna remember this. A lot of people ate crow with KZ2 so we'll see lol
This image shows the days of bad IQ are still far from over:
