[James Pearce] Some details on Mohamed Salah’s contract situation. Unless he receives a significantly improved offer he intends to leave on a free transfer in 2023 and would look to stay in the PL.

[Paul Joyce] Liverpool have turned down Bayern Munich’s opening bid for Sadio Mane. It was for £21m guaranteed, plus £4m in add-ons payable if, for example, Bayern won the Champions League. Also, James Milner close to signing new deal on significantly reduced terms.

Alexander Milosevic on Erling Haaland: "I never called him a whore. I don't want to waste time on things that's been said on the pitch. I don't speak or understand Norweigan. I don't know if he speaks Swedish. What happened on the pitch stays there, I'll just move on."

[Romain Molina] Zidane turned down advances from PSG this week. There is no agreement contrary to what has been said. Qatar is not giving up (this is the top priority), but time is running out. The club have agreed to move this week for the boss, and Campos is still pushing for Galtier.

[Phillippe Auclaire] Absolute murder on the Fan Tokens crypto markets today. PSG -10.79% in *one day*, now $6.8 from a high of $50 last August. Juventus even worse: -13.57%. Inter -11.31%. Oh - Arsenal: -14.53%.

The plan for Erling Haaland at ManCity is not overly complicated. Rather than any great tactical tweaks to the team’s shape or style, Pep expressed to Haaland that he will simply be asked to adapt his own game to fit his new team.

Kinda crazy to see someone go for so much after only just having had their breakout season. From the bits I have seen and read about him he does seem to be very talented. But still.

After Neymar and Pogba inflated transfers the player prices went crazy, now every club is scared to wait and see if a player is actually good and rather spend an inflated price now than let him solidify himself then they will be asked to pay double that price.

I was going to say that if you look at the highest transfers all of those players they all had some buzz around them for a couple years at least. But Mbappe and João Félix both went for big money after their breakthrough seasons too. So I suppose it's not unprecedented.

Yes and there is a list of examples actually that I can type that will jog your memory but I'm feeling a little lazy to do it at the moment :messenger_tears_of_joy:

[MARCA] UEFA is preparing a new tournament to kick off the season before the Champions League

FIFA and UEFA are killing the players, the clubs with resources most likely will start buying two full teams (plus substitutes for each)

[Fabrizio Romano] Frenkie de Jong on Manchester United deal: “You’re always flattered when a team shows interest in you as a player, but I am at the biggest club in the world at the moment,” via Tom Collomosse. “I feel fine [in Barcelona], so… no news,” de Jong added.

I didnt think it was possible, but Man Utd have managed to once again be horrendous in transfer market... no one sold or bought, we got preseason starting in 3-4 weeks!

all these changes in staff but club hasnt changed because the head is the same. This was the summer i was hopeful but now i am resigned to the fact that we will not be a serious club as long as Glazers are making the decisions

Have patience, we've got a 2 or 3 year rebuild on our hands. The sad truth is we're not as glamourous a club as we once were (in terms of trophies) and it makes acquiring potential targets that much more difficult. Remember, it was only a year ago that we got Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo on the back of a 2nd place finish, so there's definitely still a draw to the club, but I think the business has to be smarter from United this time.

Be it signing younger talent who want to be here, or trying not to get bent over on fees and wages. Stuff is happening behind the scenes we're not privy to and I think we'll see a few deals sorted before the window closes. There's been a lot of turnover and I think the scouting department are more focused on getting the "right" targets rather than just the scattergun showpiece signings which we've seen over the past decade.

It's not going to be a pretty first couple of seasons, but I hope by giving ETH the backing he deserves that we can start to get things right on the pitch.

New Chelsea owner admits plans are exactly fans fears
“They don’t realize how big their opportunity is,” Todd Boehly told the SuperReturn International private equity conference in Berlin on Wednesday. “Let’s get a hold of our destiny and think about how to optimize this.”

The American investor spoke about what Chelsea can expect under his ownership during a conversation with Bloomberg News’s Jason Kelly, pointing to revenue opportunities from sports gambling and better player marketing, as well as more rewards for fans who buy season tickets.

In some of his first extended comments since taking over Chelsea, Boehly also said he planned to make greater use of data analysis in the selection and recruitment of players at the club -- a model that’s already highly favored among sports owners in the US.

Welp.... ain't got no history, now aint got no future.

As an American please fucking ban American's from being owners in any European league's club's to keep it the beautiful game

The grim reality is there’s realistically no good prospects left for a potential new owner of a football club. Big clubs are so expensive that them being bought for benevolent footballing reasons is kinda off the table. At least the stuff they talked about is better than becoming a sportswashing exercise for a nation state.

How is "English football" highly undervalued? I think the official narrative of every single sports shop is to repeat that Premier is the best league in the world (which is not, btw).

It is hard to ban based on nationality especially when the nation in question can ruin the club nation in many ways, best they can do is try to ban those monetization methods but then you will need officials not bribed by those potential buyers, I agree with you that the American model will kill the sport spirit and turn it from a high quality meal to cheap junk food.

Actually there is, sell them back to the fans in mass as shares instead of one owner. Part of the big clubs valuation that make them this expensive is the potential the owners can extract via prostituting their clubs in the ways mentioned by bloomberg, if the owners were not allowed to do that the value will drop significantly, it is what is it because of all those activities the fans are opposed to.

Which is the best league in the world you think......... Lemme guess lol

I think a league where on average has better technical and tactical abilities shown on the pitch, which puts the EPL on about the same level as the Bundesliga but each has a totally different play style, in the bundesliga it is more open than the epl while in the epl it is a little more physical oriented. I think both the EPL and Bundesliga in terms technical and tactical display are fighting for the third spot at the moment. BUT leagues level go down and up in cycles and as everyone feeling the financial impact of COVID I'd say the EPL should have the ability to exploit their financial muscle advantage to go ahead but seeing how the clubs owners in EPL spend said money it is not a guarantee but the potential is there and the money is on their side. We will see what happens though in the coming seasons :pie_thinking:
