Love how it's not concerning for GOW, but is for Starfield - A game from Bethesda, who has spent nearly 2 decades showing gameplay deep dives only at E3 and shipping titles 5-6 months after.

The animation director of the game said 2 or 3 weeks ago it will be released this year.
The guy who plays Kratos said that the main reason it was delayed to 2022 was that he had to recover during many months from some bad surgeries and they waited for him instead of hiring someone else to replace him.
The PSN lists it with a -probably a placeholder refering to that quarter- September 30th 2022 release. Sony mentioned it multiple times as a 2022 game.
It already has been 4 years under development, same it took to develop the 2018 reboot but this is 'only' a direct sequel with apparently no big changes.
Some random nobody at twitter or 4chan may say something else, but verything remotely reliable leads to think GoWR will be released in 2022.

But a portion of the Sony Visual Arts Group (an animation and cutscenes outsourcing team) team from San Diego branched out to create a new studio because they were tired of being a support team and wanted to make their own projects. First they wanted to make films or tv shows using PS IPs and the assets of their cutscenes. Sony turned down their pitch and told them to focus on games.
They they thought about making games being them the lead studio, and thought that since most of them were artists and animators it would be easier to get greenlighted a remake, so they started to work on a pitch of an Uncharted 1 remake to reuse assets they did for that film pitch but noticed the gameplay was too outdated and would require too much game design and coding work for them, so decided to move instead to a TLOU1 remake with the idea of bundle it with the PS5 version of TLOU2. It got greenlighted.
Then some time later Hermen got promoted to his current position, thought they were wasting too much money on it and asked them to go back to their original art and animation support role and asked ND to move from back then a support and overviewing role to take the lead of the project and to complete it with a reasonable budget.

Why not? A lot of your cohorts were claiming Starfield was going to be delayed before today. And they were right. I'm probably right about gow. To say people cannot speculate sure is something. I got a 50/50 shot at this, same as the people who were claiming yesterday that Starfield would be delayed.

Your not speculating though. Your saying that it’s already been delayed. There’s a difference between predicting something and claiming that to already happened.
I never said for example that Starfield is getting delayed. Only that it might get delayed. I have the same stance with GoW but I’m leaning more towards that it’s coming out this year. But yes it could get delayed as well but I’m not 100% sure on that based on the Information that I have.

I didn't say you specifically. A lot of people were saying starfield would be delayed, as if that were fact, prior to today. If that's acceptable so is speculating about gow2 being delayed. I truly believe it'll be delayed until 2023. We will get that news next month

Was just going to ask if he knows something because his post is all but confirming GOW delay this year.
I mean its fine to expect a delay going by recent trends but confirming it or having some insider info on it is another thing.

To my eyes nobody is 100% sure unless they have some inside information. I'm not going to tell people that GoW is getting delayed if I don't have information to support that. Speculating is another thing though and has a completely different tone.
For example I'm aware that a delay is possible but I'm leaning more towards the game coming out this year. That's just based off the information that I have which is the same as anyone else that isn't an insider.
We will see what happens though.

I think this was always going to be march or april 2023. Just like 2018 was april of that year. Horizon was also delayed out of holiday last year, into the february spot that the first game initially launched in during 2017. Sony seems to really do well putting their games out in the winter/spring. They dont really need a holiday game, in fact they havent had one in many years

It's chuggling along, but realistically if Starfield is getting a 2~3 month delay, won't be an issue. It becomes an issue if it even slips the H1 target.

I honestly wasn't hoping for Starfield to get delayed even if GoW got delayed first. As a fan of GoW I know it would suck if GoW got delayed. I'm pretty sure Bethesda fans would feel the same way so I understand them.
GoW getting delayed won't make Starfield release earlier. Hopefully that makes sense.

Of course, God of War could be delayed but the fact is we have a gameplay trailer for it and have had for a while now, we haven't seen a single second of starfield gameplay yet so that's why a lot of people were fairly confident it in guessing that it wasn't going to make the release date.
