I'd like to think god of war won't be delayed. They had to have some incling on where it was at to show it when they did. If its delayed i guess its a Feb/match 2023 release.

Likely to coordinate with the HBO show spurring interest in the franchise. Although seemingly that hasn't worked for Halo infinite, but it did with the Witcher. See how it pans out.

The only way the remake will pass muster is if it’s some kind of next gen technological marvel. It’s possible that tech is the focus. Remove need for game design and production and all you need to concentrate on is the one pillar.
Let’s hope that’s the case.

I doubt Sony would move up TLOU Remake to cover for GOWR delay. I’d assume that Sony wants the remake out around the same time as the show and the show is slated for 2023 iirc

Of course to Joel it didn't matter because all that mattered from his point of view was saving Ellie.
Having the doctor's story fleshed out is hardly a retcon or surprising in anyway.
In a remake in makes perfect sense to put in the fleshed out character models....

Nintendo line-up is pretty strong this year, imo. They plan to release, Mario Strikers (seems fun to me), a new Fire Emblem, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Splatoon 3, a new Pokemon game, and if I'm not mistaken the idea was to release Bayonetta 3 as well. I think its definitely stronger than PS5 and Series X/S line-up for this year.

GOW 2018 was being made at the same time as their engine = that's is a huge constrain on several levels. Also was a total reinvention for the franchise = they were starting from zero (gameplay-wise) which means they spend a lot of time finding the 'hook'/gamelay loops and design philosophy/language.
At the end day, they were able to made one of the best games of the generation. Which is a HUGE achievement.
So, if we see Santa Monica's track record; in theory, GoW Ragnarok should be such a mind-blowing experience. Especially when they said that this game is going to end this story = going all in/balls to the wall.
If gets delayed...ok. Yep, fantrolls gonna rejoice on the news. And is going to be a a bad time for PlayStation PR....Whatever. Sony right now has more important issues to solve cof of (PS5 Stock).

That makes me 100% more interested in an instant... I disliked the lack of interesting boss fights in the first game, but if that's the case we might have a good amount of crazy fights in this one.

The new director said. If I remember correctly the reason is time, they don't want to spend 10+ years making a trilogy.
The main reason for that was due to making their engine at the same time as well as reinventing the formula = time constraint/technical limitation/finding the core/hook/gameplay loop/design philosophy -language.

2-3-5 years passed with some updates via obscure interviews here and there
3. Trailer -a.k.a. Gameplay Trailer. Someone work-off hiss ass to make it.
4. One year or more for development and polish
5. Start of the active marketing campaign - bunch of interviews, marketing materials, leaks, special previews with selected media dudes. The game is in beta state - polish.
6. Release.
currently we are at the point 4.

Literally the only way i'm going to buy this thing is if it's gonna make look tlou2 old...no chance of that unless the budget is sky high and nextgen only.

- rework on engine to take full advantage of ps5 hardware
- 60fps locked (old tv´s) and 60fps+ VRR (120hz) only modes (no 30fps)
then it´ll be ok to release in 2023!
meanwhile, patch GoW 2018 with 4k textures ,2160p, 60fps+VRR, better details (for PS5) to run like the PC version!
