None, mine has no ads there lol I’m using an phone, maybe that’s the problem? I see ads on neogaf.

How about affiliate links (amazon etc). It is a win-win.

Also links inside posts (but colored differently) so when someone mentions they bought some gadget etc it picks it up and links to a store.

I may have few ideas, some serious some not so much...
-Do a paid lotery for a chance to get games like in user giveaway but that will help the forum (amount paid increase chances or pool of selection)
-Start an Onlyfans with the best butts in games thread
-a utip/tipee there's also some site where you can watch ads to help a youtuber/site/forum
-A patreon that would give access to merch or even a specific thread like what happenned on gaf this week(I'm sure some of us would like a quick recap of the week)
-Sell all our personnal data to amazon-MS-Google etc...
-Have a paying thread where people can insult you personally and post it on REE(I know it sounds dumb but I know an humorist that has 2 mailbox 1 for compliments and 1 for insults and apparently people are compliant with this system)
-Have a sponsored amazon link so when people advises someone to buy something of amazon you get a bit(it probably works for other sites)

What about selling (virtual) equipment that protects a user against bans? Like armor, shield or even spells that show up below the avatar so that other users can see that I am currently protected against bans? Or if e.g. I want to revive beloved enemy Bryank75 Bryank75 , I can buy and cast a resurrection spell on him?

- Wipe old data and just link screenshot some of the most famous stuff
- make some stickies for great Tv/gaming offers with reflinks
- try to block the site for adblock users
- sell unban tokens for the warriors. Let's say 25 bucks for a token
- sell free tickets for warring posts. 5 bucks for a ticket.
- sell special avatars/custom tags/emojy blocking
- try to get gaming advertising partners

Lots of good ideas.

I didn't support Gold yet cause I still see people getting banned for some crazy reasons. Lots of old members were hammered and the new users are just not as fun to interact or worse, they are PR machines. Seriousrly, look at this with empathy, Boss. Community will dry out if you change users for bots.

Anyway, I visit GAF every day and have fun. So, I hope for the best.

CD Keys would be great as they aren’t locked to PC only and have great prices on Xbox and Nintendo products. They’re a legit seller too.

I love this site, helped me with all kinds of shit after the crazy surgery. With these depressing times, it's nice that I can talk to you and other inteligent members here, since I ain't going to lie, this is for me one of the toughest times. Daily on the phone of people fighting, lots of colleges, coworkers, friends being hurt. And I sort of find this site as a safe place from all of that fashi, tankie trash, which simply isn't avoidable anywhere else. Means lot, thank you.

I really like and use CDKeys a lot but I wouldn't call them legit seller.
My failure of a game is on there and I sure as hell never gave them keys or sign any distribution contract with the website. :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Yeah only started using CDKeys lately as Amazon rejected (and refunded) my PSN card twice in a row and contacted the support and got nothing solid. Well, It's cheaper and better and very good!

Drawing more people towards gold might be good, but there might be more incentive needed. Perhaps adopting some Twitch strategies could help, i.e. gold-only emoticons and affiliate links. Or how about gif avatars for gold members?

Just spitballing here.

You need this daily for almost any good offer related to gaming like tvs, consoles, soundbars, games, graphic cards, controllers, keysites like eneba and so on. In Germany we have a site that makes tons of money with reflinks. People there can post good offers and the site automatically changes all links to their own reflinks: www.mydealz.de

I would automatically block the first post in any new thread for such offers with reflinks.

Okay here's a serious suggestion: more payment options for Gold.

I'm willing to bet Creditcard-only is holding you back big time. I'm sure there are legitimate reasons but implementing other payment options like Paypal or Xsolla will make it drastically easier to get gold or gift gold. Set the bar as low as possible for people to subscribe to Gold.

Credit cards just aren't a thing where I'm from, I don't have one and I don't know anyone who does.

We'll work on adding a Paypal option for subs. Implementing Stripe CC payments required a whole lot of testing and debugging, so we were reluctant to add additional complications, but I've heard this request a lot from non-US members.

In all seriousness though I run Gaf add block free as should everyone and would happily click affiliate links everyday if it helped.

Well said my dear friend. Even though I don't post that much, and if I do they're not that good (on mobile) NeoGAF is my most visited site for over 20 years. For what it worth I'm temping to buying some shirts when I lose some weight lol.

And yeah, implementing some tiers regarding gold that give you acces to whatever features doenst seem such a bad idea, right?
