What the look for? Where them Xbox Series X at?
I see you are still delusional. Oh man. I pity you.
This is going to be me once it finally clicks for some people that the console games industry, as much as it's still very much recognizable, has drastically changed in ways people still refuse to appreciate. Old assumptions about expected success or how things will go should be thrown out the window. Xbox Game Pass wasn't anywhere remotely the threat before that it now is. The Xbox first party games lineup is shaping up to be one of the most insane lineups ever, and Game Pass's impact and increasing value with even major third parties now apparently will only amplify their strength.
Xbox Series X as a pretty powerful piece of console hardware is also perfectly positioned from a pure horsepower and features standpoint to take full advantage of what Xbox has in the pipeline. No, Series S will not hurt that potential. It will only help make it more affordable for others to get in. And then there's PC. Things are very different now. Microsoft has acknowledged they've lost using the old business strategy and model. They have decided to change it and come up with their own. They now have their own metrics for success that are different from what Sony considers success. Slowly but surely I see Sony shifting towards what Microsoft is already doing.
But what some won't realize is that though Sony has the big first party IP to make day one in whatever their game pass competitor ends up being possible, what makes that and 3rd party day ones a thing and properly sustainable over the long term is that war chest Microsoft possesses. When Sony goes to make deals every 3rd party will be considering what kind of deal they can net from Microsoft and whether going with Sony makes sense. And if Sony manages to do exactly the same thing as Microsoft and making it fully sustainable for them? Even better for Microsoft because that's what Microsoft wants. Not if, but when Sony copies Game Pass 100%, that will further validate xbox's moves to Microsoft, its CEO and Board of Directors, proving that they are on the right track, and investment must continue at the same pace.

sold out just like ps5s and 30 series cards. Guess they didn’t expect to sell any too?
Weird how with all the hate Sony is getting, no one is talking about how much of a failure the Series S is.Not XSS. That console is widely available. Especially in PAL territory
how much of a failure is it?Weird how with all the hate Sony is getting, no one is talking about how much of a failure the Series S is.
Im guessing the same level as your education.how much of a failure is it?
hahaha, I have enough education to know that the series s die size is around two thirds of that of the ps5 so for every two ps5 chips ms can manufacture three series s. It’s also using 10gb of slower memory and only a 512gb m.2.Im guessing the same level as your education.

basically they can ship more of them and manufacture more in the current challenging climate.
It’s also using 10gb of slower memory and only a 512gb m.2.
yes the demand for the series s isn’t as high as series x and ps5 but it’s targeting a completely different customer and I genuinely think it will do extremely well at xmas time etc.
I didn’t ask for a history of its production. It’s the only next gen console heavily in stock. Therefore failure!hahaha, I have enough education to know that the series s die size is around two thirds of that of the ps5 so for every two ps5 chips ms can manufacture three series s. It’s also using 10gb of slower memory and only a 512gb m.2.
basically ms can more efficiently manufacture the series s and it’s cheaper to ship, so for every pallet full of series s they ship it will hold roughly twice as many as the ps5 and series x due to the packaging size.

also, from your attitude it Seems like the only failure is how your parents raised you. Be humble and respect others Is a much better way to live.
You should post links to numerous threads so we can see who is posting it. Odds are it is someone from Team Blue trying to get a rise. It seems to have worked on you. This is something i have seen posted numerous times by different people in random threads on here over the last few weeks. Just saw it again now.
Have i missed some news or something?. I'm guessing so as people wouldnt be saying it if something hasnt been said somewhere.
So what have i missed?.
1. If Microsoft isnt revealing sales numbers, how do we know this.
2. Even if it WAS true, wouldnt the console shortages have something to do with that?, especially when it comes to XSX. I mean thats all we hear about in regards to PS5.
3. Is it just console warring?
Discuss.
And how do you do that:Yeah unfortunately XSX/XSS are coming off the XB1, while PS5 is coming off the PS4.
Its going to be hard this gen for Microsoft to change mindshare, even with all the curent positivity and momentum. PS5 will 'win' this gen, no doubt.
BUT if Microsoft keep this positivity and momentum up for most of this gen, the PS6/Xbox 5 gen is up in the air imo.
sold out just like ps5s and 30 series cards. Guess they didn’t expect to sell any too?
who cares, you have your gamepass, just enjoy
Nope they don't and it's for the same reason why Mattrick said there's a console for that. They don't have any incentive whatsoever for you to be on XSX. You aren't buying more expensive games than last gen. You aren't paying more for your subscriptions. If anything if the estimate that MS take a small loss on XSX hardware is true then you are actually costing them money. All they need to do is feed good PR and rumours and sell at whatever pace they wish to stop people moving to PS5. MS' strategy isn't reliant on next gen and next gen games. If it was selling more, would ms not boast about it, seems it is selling less, only by a little i think, ms need to get the games out asap.
That is exactly what’s happening, go and read up on TSMC and see what is happening in the chip manufacturing business.PS5 is on track with PS4 while Series X is well below the Xbox One numbers so you telling me Sony was able to make as many PS5s as they did with PS4 but MS couldn't make as many Series X consoles as they did with Xbox One?

sony finalized hardware before MS so had extra time to make systems before pandemic problems hit the supply chain.
And Series X and S selling well, i mean MS is selling every unit they making.
That's crap. PS5 earliest manufacturing month is June, Xboxs July. So, if it is a month difference in production. Both of them started to manufacture consoles during pandemic
The Series S is the console targeted at casuals. Casuals don't buy consoles as early as possible, they're still happy with their Xbox One. Calling the Series S a failure is a bit premature. You know the Series S is a failure when people are conveniently excluding the Series S from the discussion to fit their narrative that both consoles are sold out everywhere.
Even Microsoft and its fanboys are ignoring it.
It's a shame MS are doing worse than Sony on the stock front because they could have seriously capitalised on the shortages.

But its priced for mass market appeal and Its a new console launch. The hype and FOMO of a new console launch along with its attractive price point should theoretically boost its demand. The Series S is the console targeted at casuals. They shot themselves in the foot in the short term by launching two different SKUs. There is a reason why most Consoles launches with a single SKU at the beginning of the generation and then they introduce different units after the launch prior. Now we know why. Its a manufacturing and supply nightmare. It's a shame MS are doing worse than Sony on the stock front because they could have seriously capitalised on the shortages.
XSS price is too high imo. Especially when you get the best value in gaming even if you keep playing on an Xbox One. You're essentially paying $299 so you can play games at 60 fps instead of 30 fps. For a casual, that's kind of a bad value proposition. It would be different at $199 maybe. But its priced for mass market appeal and Its a new console launch. Its being marketed as a cheap next gen Gamepass machine where there are hundreds of games at launch with both new and old games. The best value in gaming ect....
While the above is nice in theory , and I applaud Microsoft for trying, however, it seems theory and reality are much different from their plan. Perhaps its too premature to call it a failure. I agree and only time will tell .

If Ahmad is on point, and I believe he's generally regarded as well informed, then the Xbox Series has shipped around 3.5m units in comparison to the 3.9m Xbone shipped in the same time frame. This was apparently due to Microsoft not starting manufacturing until later than Sony, which according to Phil Spencer, was due to Microsoft wanting to wait for the complete RDNA 2 feature set from AMD. If Microsoft has shipped less consoles, and both consoles experienced full sell through (all consoles sold out), it would stand to reason the Xbox Series consoles have sold less than the Xbone consoles at the same point in time due to simply not having more hardware. So, no console war bullshit: I believe the Xbox Series consoles are indeed behind in sales.
However, the Xbone stormed out the gates on the back of how good the Xbox 360 was... and then it basically died as the realisation of the Xbone set in, and Sony kept the peddle down for basically the entire generation, with hit after hit after hit. The Series consoles, on the other hand, have basically nothing but good PR for some five straight months, and Microsoft cracked open the war chest to give the Series consoles actual games to play. The Xbone might have sold more initially, but the I suspect the Xbox Series consoles will have better legs; they're dramatically better consoles than the Xbone ever was, and Xbox actually remembered to make games this time around.
?When being sloppy seconds is your goal in life.
Who cares, just enjoy the consoles and/or PC you use and spend more time playing games that make you happy instead of spending time console warring.
While true, it means that AMD and TMSC are making less money per manufacturing cycle, than they would making PS5's, XSX's or 3080ti's/Iphone 12s etc. Just because they can make more Series S consoles, doesn't mean the demand is there. Once supply increases, demand decreases and you're sat with a stock of consoles that can't be shipped, costing money taking up valuable warehousing space. We remember the warehouses full of Xbox Ones from the start of this gen, right?basically ms can more efficiently manufacture the series s and it’s cheaper to ship, so for every pallet full of series s they ship it will hold roughly twice as many as the ps5 and series x due to the packaging size.
basically they can ship more of them and manufacture more in the current challenging climate.
Do you think this makes any sense at all? Why the fuck would MS and Sony have the same agreements in place across the whole supply chain and the same ability to produce as they did 7 years ago? There are countless reasons that could cause MS to not be able to produce as much as last gen both externally or internally. An obvious one is that Sony has a better deal with AMD because they are higher volume and thus get priority, but there are so many other factors that it makes me sad to see someone expecting to be able to compare two data points in 2021 to data points in 2014 and assume everything else should be the same. MS probably is projecting less sales overall for the XSX/XSS than they did for the Xbone at the start because the Xbone was less successful than the 360 would have made them think.PS5 is on track with PS4 while Series X is well below the Xbox One numbers so you telling me Sony was able to make as many PS5s as they did with PS4 but MS couldn't make as many Series X consoles as they did with Xbox One?
Excellent post. Unlike the Xbox One and PS4, that momentum not there for Sony. Sony "probably be still the market leader at the end of the day, but they lost the power narrative, game narrative, and the value narrative. Only thing they have left is customer loyalty and brand recognition.
I like how people try to explain why PS5 is selling more, it's because it's the PS5.
In the European union people get Xbox by accident or because they are forced, like when they can't find a Playstation or because parents decided it's cool to buy an xbox even if their kid asked for a PS5 after the salesman told them how good it is, or decided to cheap out and get an XSS.
No one wants an XBOX, Sony has the brandname monopoly and it will be like that for years to come except if Jim completely f*cks up, but PS3 is hard to top in that aspect, and they still won.
It's not the shortage, it's not the series S, it's because PS5 holds more value in people's minds.
In USA maybe it's a more fair fight, but the rest of the world is Sony dominated.
That doesn't make any sense because we know both companies sell everything they can produce. This is also true for Xbox in Europe.I like how people try to explain why PS5 is selling more, it's because it's the PS5.

I prefer the better version of the Xbox the Series X especially since I game on a 4K TV and own a multiple UHD movies. Why not buy our other next gen console the series S. You can find it at your local charity shop.
