The crushed blacks will be fixed in a patch too.Ps5 remain dark, stutter is fixable with a patch so no tie. Xbox wins the comparison.
but the console already has VRR. it drops frames so goooood. best frame drops ever so variable
No, you're reading it wrong. So series SX loads more data faster .. interesting
Dropping below your VRR range there. Could drop even lower but DF edited a new scene in right were it gets interesting.
The data is identical in the end so not really, PS5 may decompress data faster at load time though so no need to have it already decompressed on the drive. So series SX loads more data faster .. interesting
So you’re just gonna keep parroting vrr even though it does nothing for stuttering (which it doesn’t even by your own accord).
xbox owners need not worry, all they have to do is run out and buy a 1k tv with vrr to fix the issues with the tower of power.
Ah yes, its because it has nothing on the PS5 when it comes to rendering text.
PlayStation 5 tackles heavy text-rendering test with extraordinary computational performance that is way beyond Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 and previous-gen consoles
An interesting Slug text-rendering test comparison has demonstrated how well the PlayStation 5 can deal with heavy processing workloads. The PS5 managed to produce a complex Royal font pixel fillrate of 4.5 gigapixels/s (GeForce RTX 2080: 3.1 gigapixels/s) and took just 0.33 ms to render all the...www.notebookcheck.net

that can happen when you are not the leading dev consoleOn Series X it always seems like there's a bug that needs to be fixed. Perception can be tricky, though.
More compressed data = more work & less compressed data = less work.So series SX loads more data faster .. interesting
Why would that be bad? I mean, the only issue is that among those who thought that the series x would CRUSH AND ANIHILATE the competition there was also a paternal attitude where they felt they were right, arguing about the validity of any of their "factual claims" was received with essentially aggressive responses.I'm sure people who celebrated a huge gap in power are happy about both consoles being "barely" different.
I will be hated again but things needs to be talked.
Pretty lazy analysis from DF again.
- Input lag not even talked (seems way higher than last gen versions)
- File size not talked (there is a over 50% difference in file size)
The PS5's hardware compression is supposed to be much more potent than whatever xbox is doing. Also PS5 version of Control takes up half the space the Series X version takes on the SSD. I'm sure some of the extra time milliseconds to load on PS5 is due to decompressing data.
The graph is going way down into the 45s at the end.
Does that matter ? If the outcome is faster loading .. why compress??The PS5 data is more compressed and it need to do more to decompress the data.
If nothing happens on screen (traversal) or it always pops in some text on the screen, it really looks like a strange bug. Seems to be a loading realated bug (for whatever reason). On Series X it always seems like there's a bug that needs to be fixed. Perception can be tricky, though.
And? Loading time is faster in the end .. you feel my drift .. it’s the end goal that matters .No, you're reading it wrong.
PS5 decompresses more data (from a smaller 25 GB file) and loads it in still the same time as Xbox is doing (from a more readily available file of 42 GB that it doesn't have to decompress as much).
That's true but decompression still takes time. The PS5's hardware compression is supposed to be much more potent than whatever xbox is doing.
Yea, those scenes are probably fixed by now. I remember them saying that if you reloaded those scenes on COD PS5 that the framerate drops stopped so my guess is that it was a genuine bug that is easily patched out.Funny how that is the reverse of when they "won" the Control performance crown (PS5 has the higher resolution, so it drops frames while the series x has a lower resolution and has stable frame rate.
Anyway, I though that these dips were not always occurring on the PS5, if you reloaded the same scene the frame rate did not drop, and there are a couple of areas like that in the game (which is probably fixed by now).
I think the end goal was a smaller file size. And? Loading time is faster in the end .. you feel my drift .. it’s the end goal that matters .
Yes not sure what's causing it either, PS5 is the better version because of this, DF alluded to it being a software issue that could be fixed by Remedy. The Series X stutters.
And? Loading time is faster in the end .. you feel my drift .. it’s the end goal that matters .
it's concerning since this is more frequent than the advantage winning this comparison /jkNot if you are in the 1% who may or may not have a TV that supports VRR properly.
I guess , I don’t care for the extra 20 gigs personally.. but maybe some one with data caps does .I think the end goal was a smaller file size.
And? Loading time is faster in the end .. you feel my drift .. it’s the end goal that matters .
Geforce Now gives you 60fps with highest PC settings and raytracing! There is one clear winner here....
Switch Cloud Version!!
Full RDNA2 frame drops
But are you willing to sacrifice 25gb of SSD space to load a few milliseconds faster?
Same here^^ that is the biggest difference between them, the install size lol and for some reason everyone is ignoring it. It is better compression on PS5 it seems but how come only this game is using it ? Just for curisoity sake would like to know the install size on SS.
The file size on the SSD. All native XSX and PS5 games must be on approved SSD part, which is very expensive. A one second difference load time is a great trade off for 40% saving in SSD usage.I guess , I don’t care for the extra 20 gigs personally.. but maybe some one with data caps does .
maybe a blink of an eye in it?I see that you conveniently missed out the fact that loading times on the Xbox consoles are faster than PS5. The X is 0.3 milliseconds faster the PS5, and the S is even better, with a massive 0.6 milliseconds advantage. So much for Cerny's secret sauce magical SSD! Quite frankly, this huge gulf in performance should make anyone thinking of getting a PS5 start having second thoughts.
no unfortunately.Your first time with Riky?
Well maybe watch the video before commenting then?.. They clearly talk about the xbox dropping more frames and the stutter. Shame they don't put that into words properly, must be the bias again.I didnt watch the video but read the text. Yes.
DF wrote both drop frames but at different parts and times.
They considered both similar in fps performance.
You serious? 0.3 milliseconds (not 0.3 seconds, but 0.3 milliseconds) is "faster" in the end? And? Loading time is faster in the end .. you feel my drift .. it’s the end goal that matters .
Or a Series S.I guess , I don’t care for the extra 20 gigs personally.. but maybe some one with data caps does .
Yes as Xbox supports expandable storage and has a bigger SSD to start with on top.
Same here
Im not too bothered with frame drops from either version
Im more interested on how can ps5 keep it in a much smaller size data compression
So you'd rather pay more money for expandable storage (eventually) instead of saving precious disk space for a 3 hundredth of a second advantage which is about 3 times faster than the average blink of an eye.
Got it.
where's the 50% file size difference?I will be hated again but things needs to be talked.
Pretty lazy analysis from DF again.

I mean they used to cover all points including power consumption and noise but today they do a very rushed work.
What is really happening?
I see it's galaxy brain time again. Hint: the game runs at 1440p on the XSX and PS5.Another 900p game for Series S. Not even 1080p native at 60fps. Not even a 1440p 30fps mode...
Yes as Xbox supports expandable storage and has a bigger SSD to start with on top.
Do they share the same textures and junk between versions? Is the only difference the settings? The obvious answer despite all the armchair compression engineers in the other thread is that the Xbox file contains the Series S version as well.
25GB vs 42GB.where's the 50% file size difference?
