Cyberpunk 2077 Comparison - Xbox Series X vs. Xbox Series S vs. Xbox One S vs. PS5 vs. PS4

I guess it depends on what you think makes it ambitious. Infinite will be open world. It will even have a multiplayer component which Cyberpunk doesn’t have. It’s not trying to create a living city but l wouldn’t expect that in a halo game. Infinite could be diverse it’s own way we just don’t know yet.

Let me just say this - Just because it will be "ambitious" for a Halo game, that doesn't make it ambitious in the grand scheme of things.

If there was going to be anything special about Halo Infinite they would have told us already considering they had no issue in showing off that trailer earlier this year with the mindset that people would get excited because of it.

Yeah I have no clue who could have ever approved that gameplay trailer. But I’m optimistic that they can get the game looking good. Open world Halo sounds amazing to me.

So here's another PS5 v Series X comparison No commentary but it seems to the first one that seems to show that the X version seem to have more detail but marginal at best.

Also a couple of screen shots from it

So the game can hold a steady 60fps on PS5 ( performance mode ) ?
XSX and PS5 runs at 60fps but they both drop frames. From the streams i saw its a very smooth experience on PS5. But i usually dont notice frame drops uless they are big drops.

Well you can thank your fellow gamers for it not being done!!

First group doesn’t want them to work overtime to get there product finished and the second group threatened them to get it released!!
Just a bunch of spoiled kids.

What a disaster..... Fuck reviewers for real. Unless it was only the PC version only they reviewed.
And shame on CDPR. Had such high hopes from this studio. What a scam

They were only allowed to review on PC.

As others have pointed out, this is why they're pushing the free upgrade. The game is not designed for last gen - it just can't handle it.

That seems to be XSX in quality mode (30 fps) vs PS5 performance (60 fps). Game is so much more silky smooth on PS5, you can see some stutter on XSX but has better shadows and slight less blurry detail.

Just installing on my ps4 pro. Almost done installing. Will put up some thoughts in an hour or two.

Having a blast with it myself on the pro, it's a bit depressing seeing the promotional cutscenes as there is clearly a huge downgrade for current gen systems, but game is still great fun and one of the best looking PS4 titles.

The X version seems to be much sharper. But I'm guessing that's down to the X being better at BC?

I played a few hours on the Series X yesterday. If the Series X version is sharper, it's not anything to brag about. The game feels quite blurry. I don't know what resolution it runs in but I'd be surprised if it was above 1080p in Performance mode. It certainly doesn't feel like 1440p. Quality mode is crisper but it feels janky.

Did the first mission with Jackie on the street kid option and I think I am good for now, will go back to Valhalla and wait for the Series X patch. The game is great but I think I can wait now. Maybe...

No, sure.

I'm playing on a 2070 and it's the first game where I'm really having to dial stuff back to get the 60fps. Still looks great, but this game has no business being on last gen.

Delays wouldn't have made a difference. It's too advanced.

PS4 n OneS clearly barely reaching 720p. PS4PRO seem like running 1080 p with higher settings n somewhat better performance.

I want to play this game so bad but the patch is at 22gb/41gb on my base PS4. The download speed seems to go slower every hour and currently sits at 5hours. Does anyone have any base PS4 screenshots of Cyberpunk 2077(no spoilers)?

They shouldn’t even be selling it in that state. Embarrassing for such a great studio. They lost my respect but gained a shitload of money. I’m sure they don’t care

I can’t comment on the X1X version, but the PS5 visuals are really jarring, especially since I am currently playing through Valhalla, which is a really nice looking game. I wish I had waited for the PS5 upgrade, because while it seems to run smooth, the visuals are blurry, even by PS4 standards. And within 30 minutes of play, I noticed weird visual artefacts, particularly around lights.
I’m going to delete it and wait patiently for the update, which is fine because I’m not short of great games to play. The moral of this story is: if you have a PS5, just be patient and wait for the update.

It turns out that Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 does not have the "quality mode" that is available on Xbox Series X. That is to say, the game on PS5 runs in "performance mode" by default. On Xbox Series X you can switch between the two. Quality mode shoots for a high resolution, something approaching 4K and 30 frames per second, whereas performance mode aims for a smooth experience.

From Eurogamer.
Are you saying that most of these comparisons have been comparing the XBOX's quality mode to the PS5's performance mode?

If anything I see a higher AA pass on PS5. If not it's quality mode on XBOX vs Perf mode on PS5...
Slightly higher resolution, more ppedestrians, and better SSAO on Series X

PS5 looks better here, better colors, better lighting, sharper.......There have been so many patches, so maybe some of these comparisons were done without certain patches.....I'm sure the PS5 version should have a Quality setting sooner of later if not already present...As for NPC's, it's an open world game, surely you don't expect the same NPC's and quantity to be represented across consoles.....A.I would cause them to populate different areas based on the gameplay....

I actually felt violated when I played this on the PS5 last night haha. I went into the options just to see if there was something under the visual settings that said ‘not shit’. Unfortunately not.

Yeah I'm also playing Valhalla on Series X and going from it to Cyberpunk like quite drastic from an image quality standpoint. Valhalla rarely holds a full 4K but even at its lowest resolution, it feels dramatically sharper. The same can be said for any other back compact title I've tried (so far just Doom Eternal and Red Dead 2).

I find it sad and phatetic claiming these versions to be ps5 and xsx when its clearly stated by the devs that next gen patch arrives next year.

This is backcomp bullshit and neither show their full potential .

I don't think anyone is trying to claim these are the definitive PS5 or Series X versions.

However, even in back compact mode, they are still the best showing of the game on console, which is why they are being shown.

Honestly both platforms will put out impressive visuals and effects. Comparing the two is just nit picking really, or preference

How is that a showcase of whats to come when just by nature xsx works with xboxonex code and its settings and ps5 works with ps4pro settings aka like in cod warfare or what ever when it couldnt go past the ps4 pro legacy codes resolution?
Xsx backcomp has many features ps5 wont ever have.

So ps4 has less detail in its code and other lower settings and ps5 does its best to work with whats given but even soo with garbage backcomp it still manages to run 60 and a much cleaner image quality.
Not to mention it doesnt even have a quality mode like xsx only performance mode

Is there a context for comparisons like this?
Are they both from performance mode? Or one from performance mode and the other from quality mode?
In that case if you need to cut the frame rate in half to get these small differences it's not even worth it.
Unfortunately this game won't run to the full potential of next gen consoles until next year. It's just BC, it's not PS5 vs XSX anyway. It's PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X with BC improvements.

Question: why they are comparing the ps5 and SX versions without the next gen patch? I'm missing the point.

So people who want to buy and plan now rather than waiting can decide which to get now.

Some comparison vids and quality mode on XSX only (and being 59gb instead of 102 on a system with less storage space) made me go with XSX instead of PS5. I'll do a replay as another origin/class when the next gen patch is out. I imagine any difference between the two post upgrade will be negligible to non-fussy (meaning don't care much about minor resolution or fps differences) people like myself just like most multiplat comparisons to date.

Didn't the witcher 3 get tons of patches to make it playable? So the choices are either play in its current state if performance isnt a big deal or wait for the patches.

TW3 had some issues (like hard v-syncing to 20fps on PS4 in some areas), but it was never anywhere near this bad. It was perfectly playable from day 1, and was improved from there (now runs at an almost flawless 30).

CP 2077 is so bad on current gen, Windows Central did an article about how its proof Halo Infinite needs to skip XBO.

Yeah, if folks wanna use it for console war fodder, good luck.

I'll just wait for the next gen versions.

Seems Jeff Gerstman was the only honest press guy that said this game is a mess.

shame on all those that gave it 9/10's and 10's

To be fair, reviews were of the PC versions which isn't nearly as bad, bugs aside. It's definitely a game that needs separate PC, current gen/PS4 Pro/X1X, and base PS4/X1 reviews though as the graphics and performance so different.
