What would you do? Cyberpunk 2077 launch day

You can either play it on base PS4... as there’s a 0% shot I’ll get a PS5 by then

Or

Play it on a core i5 4670k, 16gb ram, GTX 1070, SSD etc

It’s coming down for time to decide.

I have a $50 preorder for PS4 (can’t find it that cheap on PC yet, I’m aware it has been)

But what say you? My “guess” is my rig can run it beyond even a PS4 Pro. Not sure though

Those PC specs will 100% provide you with a far better experience than a base PS4 or even a PS4 Pro. They're not even close.

And we have no idea when the PS5's "next gen patch" will be released.

Once patched sometime next year, the PS5 version will have better performance than that PC... but maybe not by much.

If you’re getting a PS5 soonish for sure (whenever there’s enough stock), I would go the PS4 version route personally.
See. That’s my issue.

But.... my day one play through factually would be on base PS4

Also, let’s play devils advocate. Say I get a PS5 next week which isn’t happening. But roll with it. At BEST I’ll play at below my current PC specs since it won’t have next gen patch right?

Decide PC or console.

A base PS4 copy will eventually be upgraded to whatever they do to PS5 for free.

PC or console.

Feel like this shouldn't even really be a choice. The PC version all the way. Even if the PS5 version, sometime next year, manages to eek out a bit more performance than the PC version ( with those specs ), you'll lose ALLLLL the mod support by going console. Also there is a chance the Playstation version will be censored.

The only reason to play Cyberpunk on a console, IMO, is if you don't have access to a reasonable gaming PC... which you do.

Yeah I’m leaning heavily to PC. Not worried on “censored” as many have shown that they have a “censor” options in settings and perhaps that’s what was shown. Regardless, I’m just debating this heavily. Would love this game on my big screen in the living room, no... not interested in lugging my PC downstairs or steam streaming etc.

PC all the way, regardless of what FUD S0ULZB0URNE S0ULZB0URNE has to say. This is gonna be the next gen game that gets, next gen gamers on board! We don't use HDD's, but the standard SSD's. No censorship, no frills, no b.s.

Yeah, I heard about the nudity options. But I still feel like the Playstation version might STILL have some things censored that the PC version won't. We will see.

As far as moving your PC, that's up to you. My PC's permanent home is in my Livingroom hooked up to a 65' 4K HDR TV. Comfy couch gaming in not only for consoles.

I feel ya. It’s just not for me and how my setup is. I have a “pc gaming” room for all my physical games and computer desk/chair. Sure, I could lug the heavy beast down and set it up. But nah. It’s not how I want to do it.

I was 60-40 console and now am 80-20 PC. Just simply based on the fact I’m kinda sure my PC will put pace my PS4 and even the PS5 (at launch)

Easiest decision of your life OP. Get the DRM free gog version and play it on PC. I'm pretty sure the PC version even has controller support. It's really a no brainer. Your machine will run the game FAR better then the PS4 Pro. The Pro is not that much better then the base PS4, the CPU is still the same and that holds everything back.

Yeah, 90’s aside, the mouse/keyboard option is a dealbreaker if no controller is supported.

You can blame console gaming on my input preferences

Can you link 1? Highly interested

first google result. Really, just get it on PC. Gog.com officially says, it has controller support. Just play it on PC OP. I envy you, I only have the shitty Pro and no PS5 in sight.

lol playing this game on a base PS4 or XB1 is whack as a hell Maddux4164 Maddux4164

That's like drinking a fine wine out of a Dixie cup or something.
Now you know you can't say that too loud, there's so many fanboys who think this game will run better day 1 on ps5. Little do they know one of the biggest, best games will release soon, only on PC. Ps5=ps4 version, let's see if S0ULZB0URNE S0ULZB0URNE will respond to this, as it has better raytracing than his favorite game, which didn't even have it!

What a colossal fuck up by the publisher to allow this release date to happen for what is now a last gen game.
The ps5 and XSX have been out for almost a month- and there’s no next gen version launching?

I know there’s been a ton of delays but I would have delayed further to release the game properly.

I have a ps5 and I’m super pumped for this game which somehow means I’m not going to buy it at launch?

weird decision.

Ah, the mythical PS5. A great beast, soon to be found in the wild. Just like bigfoot or the white whale.
Yeah lol. Also me waiting “months” isn’t an option. I’ll factually be playing this game in 8 days. Wednesday evening in America

Eh. Can’t blame em. The PS4/X1 wasn’t even around when they began development on this game

Totally agree. You basically have two options: play the shitty pro version and *hope* that you will get a PS5 soon AND that CD Project releases the next gen patch soon, or enjoy the next gen version on launch day on your more then capable PC, with controller support, for less money.

No. PS5 isn’t an option unless you have a link where I can buy one. Also, at launch, even if I somehow had a PS5, my PC would likely pit pace it
It was not really the PS5 the main point of my question. But more "Why not waiting to buy the game cheaper in few months (alongside a PS5 if you want) ?"

I do that since few years (not buying on release) and find it nice to have games cheaper. It also make a natural selection of games I really want and those I wanted just because hype since after few months I lose interest in some.

You don't really lose something not playing them on release (except if there is some heavy multiplayer feature but even after few months there are still plenty of players usually).
But I get the hype to play on release.

You’re right. You’re absolutely correct. It’s PC for me. I’ll get 1080/60 on high at worst according to their specs they released

Alright. PS4 pre-order cancelled

Guess I’ll be stuck in my gaming room on my PC playing this game next week.

Never once OC’d my CPU/GPU. May do it for this game.

Quite certain I’ll get 1080/60 on High

May push for 1440/60 and dial back a few things.

It's hard to believe, but yeah, next week brothers! It'll be the first time we can explore a huge cyberpunk city in full 3D. That alone is worth the entry fee imo. As far as I know, this has never been done before.

Some point to 1999 DeusEx.

Sure. That game attempted it. But was limited by hardware at the time. This is the true Deus Ex we wanted

PC for sure . You should still get better framerates at 1080p medium than the PS4 , not to mention better image quality too

PC. Doesn't seem like a hard choice. I don't have a lot of confidence that they'll get the next gen patches out anytime soon, but maybe they'll surprise me.
