VG Tech PS5 vs XSX patch, performance drops to ps5 1368p and XSX 1080p (AC Valhalla)

What exactly of more useful have your post compared mines in the past three months?

Forming actual English sentences is a good start.

You're making excuses. If you had no problem with Xbox fans doing it, then don't have a problem with PS fans doing it.

Who said I have no problem with it on either side? But here, let me laugh react to your post, that should prove something apparently.

Oh wow . Nice play. Lol. The no console war, no fanboy nice guy. Here your true face. The more sad thing you never contribute to provide something of worth in a discussion and you accuse for first the other.

Obviously not an ideal situation on either console, but the PS5 is still pushing a lot more pixels per second. So it's still winning in raw rendering performance (but screen tearing is unacceptable).

Wait a minute.....it also made the Series X....worse????

Lmao

These are the stats from the video.

Look at the torn frames.

Look at the 16.67ms frame time count.

PS5 is performing worse here than XsX did pre-patch.

But it was fine on PS5 before Ubi decided to try to fix things.....what exactly is the point. The Series X is now going as low as ....1080p. The PS5 lowest at 1300+. And introduced some worse bugs for Series X....The point?

I swear....the logic on display here is wild....
So what is your point here, did the PS5 become weaker all of a sudden?

Mind boggling. Ubi should have just left it all alone.

If it ain't fixed don't break it?

Idk. I got nothing. Game is a mess in so many ways.
Found the first 10 hours or so fun even through the bugs. I've now just finished Vinland (worst story arc in the game) and my interest is dropping quickly.

Now it's about finishing this game. Becoming a bit of a war of attrition.

They had more time the tools, still cant patch the gap lol but dont worry xbox fans will pay sony not imporove there own tools and in 1 year they will get parity with ps5, 🤣

No?

Nobody is arguing about weaker or stronger.

The PS5 version of this game has been broken to the point it's performing worse than Series X did before the patch. The OP started the thread in haste thinking he had a console war win, but didn't even bother to notice that PS5 now has obscene screen tearing and spends even less time at 60fps than Series S does.

Basically, PS5 needs to drop to 1080p too.

Nice suggestion 1080p hah .. but you forgot something important and that would be to not download the latest patch and you will have the best performance on PS5.

easy solve ..

Good lord Ubisoft. You’d think this is the most demanding game ever made.
And the nerve to release a patch that makes the performance on one of the consoles worse. They should have left the ps5 version alone. Customers should ask for a refund. It’s like Audi throttling your engine after you’ve bought the car.

Their engine doesn’t scale well to say the least. How does the game run on a 2080 TI? All the fuss we’ve heard about how those consoles with their zen2 cpus and fast i/o would revolutionise open world games. Remember the UE5 demo? Anybody still believing we’ll see games of that caliber this gen?

I find the soft white dot missions to be the most entertaining. They can be really random

So it's 4K or 60fps ... but not both. And this isn't even a Next gen game.

The only positive thing I can say about this is that the variable resolution does a pretty solid job of holding 60fps. IMO holding 60fps is more important than sticking to a resolution.

I've had performance issues running Ubisoft games on PC for a while. Odyssey was horribly optimized. I had to use a mod to fix clouds, etc...

I think Karak of ACG mentioned that he had some performance issues on a 3090, however it's only recollection and I could be wrong.

Yikes. What are those clowns at ubisoft doing. Somehow making the game run worse and including a 30fps mode that literally no one will use. Good job :messenger_clapping:

So the patches have shown that Ubi is terrible at coding and optimisation. The performance or lack of it on any console is not the fault of the console. Thats the only take away here.

Yes. It's a bit of a box of chocolates. The mysteries are getting old... As are the constant positional battles to shoot an arrow though a window to unlock a door.

I feel this game would have been better set entirely in Scandinavia. The snow and mountains were just awesome. I went from and incredible mountainous region to a boring piece of flat land.

So laugh reacting is back to being a good thing again, apparently?

Again, two wrongs apparently make the right with you.

If there is a power advantage to series X, it's minimal and parity will be the main story of the generation.

Ultimately however this game, particularly with this patch, isn't a good indication of anything.

OP didn't even wait to post the name of the game in his thread title, such was his haste to console war.

It's a performance test, but, instead of talking about performance, he and everyone else seem to be discussing minimum dynamic resolution targets.

PS5 post patch has way more screen tearing and frequent FPS dips, so a more accurate list would be PS5 pre patch > XsX post patch > PS5 post patch

Another useless post from you.

It's a wonder you've lasted three months.
While I was enjoying this meltdown since it's exactly what the OP was looking for (aka bait), I knew I recognized that avatar. You were one of the elated fanboys in the Zenimax acquisition thread:
Even if a few of MS's new IPs make it onto the PS5, Sony fans will be coughing up €80 to own a port of a game free on, and designed for, Game Pass.

Most of them will remain exclusive though, anyway.
Sony buys timed exclusivity on Final Fantasy - "Genius move, suck it Xbox players, MS is dead and exiting the console market"

Microsoft buys Bethesda - "REEEeee Microsoft better make their own IPs multiplatform, but Sony shouldn't do the same"

I don't mind console wars, because I think it's all in good fun anyhow. But the worst are the warriors with this fake neutrality and think it's not transparent.

Leave a screen tearing option so that I can play this on my CX, which fixes it with VRR, without cringing at the resolution. Guess I'll keep waiting for this to get fixed. Plenty of other games to play.

51fps ouuff, drop it to 1080

Then the fanboys would shout about how Phil is paying for parity again. Lol

This is a very confusing generation! But a fun one! Looks like both boxes delivered for the most part and the rest is mostly noise. We should all be happy. I mean they cost less then 50% of an iPhone/galaxy. They are fucking awesome!

Downside is they don't fit in your pocket.

So for VRR users it’s basically a downgrade at all levels.

Take that DF, you VRR loving fools.

Like saying ps5 drops frames when it is 99% 60 fps?
I mean, last week that's what everyone was saying about the other plastic box. It's PS5's turn to be the turd this week and then Ubisoft will fix it again and then XSX will get to be the turd again. They won't stop fixing it until they are both turds.

PS5 in Performance Mode uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest native resolution found being approximately 2432x1368.

Xbox Series X in Performance Mode uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest native resolution found being 1920x1080.

Discuss. Seems the patch made ps5 worse, and almost halved the lowest resolution on XSX, WTF ubi

Digital foundry needs to do its job properly. From the video posted by you, i notice the Series has better draw distance in the background and has better textures and visuals.

It's clearly seen here at one scene same place , mountain area in the background. The PS5 blurry like the Series S. Visual quality not being compared here.

It seems PS5 performance mode was sabotaged(maybe unintentionally) unless Ubisoft gives the detailed list of additional content/effects/presets they added to performance mode in the patch.

Also Xbox series X having to drop to 1080 in performance mode means the tools narrative is now out of the window.

Microsoft/Ubisoft lowered the details on screen for the Division 1 port of Xbox One to maintain parity with PS4. This is being repeated here in a cross-gen title tells you where both PS5 and Xbox series X stands with the power narrative.

Xbox series X can only have parity or slightly better performance in 30fps mode and may be Ray-tracing mode.

Cyberpunk 2077 is another title with marketing deal with Xbox.
