If it was “clearly leagues better” aka MGS1 to MGS2, which I would say is clearly leagues better, then everyone would unanimously agree so. The fact there is discrepancy in initial observations means it’s not “clearly” better
i haven’t played the PS4 game, I preordered the ultimate edition along with my PS5, but looking at this video and other high quality videos of the PS4 pro game, they look very similar
certainly not “leagues better” as described.

I didn’t buy the PS4 version because I was pretty worn down with open world games this generation. But this new twink Peter Parker is legit making me want to get a PS5 before the end of the year.

Look at 14 sec in the vid it’s amazing like real life movie, one where they forgot to light what we are supposed to see but still a real life movie.
Glad they showed this clip instead of swinging thru traffic and shit, screen shots will do for that!

Looks nice, but it already looked nice on PS4 Pro. Was looking at the Youtube Video, but couldn't really tell much difference other than 60fps smoothness.
The OG Parker face grew on me as I played - He had this little bit of over-exaggeration of facial expression (or perhaps due to his facial features were pretty prominent - large eyes, thick eye-brows and big mouth). Not sure of the new guy. At some point he looks like Butthead from Beavis & Butthead...

Sorry, but that redesigned Peter Parker is horrible. They had their own original version of Peter and now they've changed it to a design that's totally dull and indistinct. Supposedly it's to match up the actor's bone structure, yet somehow it's ended up looking more like an extra-vanilla Tom Holland than said actor.
Coherency and artistic integrity come first, find a way around it or accept that the performance match-up isn't going to perfect. This isn't a remaster or general remake, it's revisionism. The game just lost a key part of its identity. And it's only fair to assume this is Peter Parker going forward for MM and an eventual SM2. They've basically just took a dump on my fave new(ish) franchise of this gen.
First, cross gen for Miles Morales and now they've ruined Peter Parker... This next-gen launch window has gone to shit in the last few weeks.

Me thinks Disney/Sony wanted a cross-promotion with the MCU and the games so they made the change.
I'm not buying the remaster at launch cause I've already platinumed and played the original to death so i'm not interest ATM, the new face may grow on me so i don't know.

What I liked the most in Marvel Spiderman it was that Peter Parket was an adult, has problems with combining his work and being Spiderman, the relationship with Mary Jane, the days of college its in the past........ I mean, a grown-up Spiderman that has been around New York city for about 3 years.

Looking worse doesn't equate to it being less advanced. If light isn't supposed to fall in those spots then they shouldn't be illuminated. I find it hard to believe they added all of these new graphical features but they toned the lighting down just do it.
Not close since there's probably not a need to. Each individual strand is rendered, so no clumps of hair.

I'm being dead serious. Doing things like this is unnecessary. The game was fine, their creative vision was fulfilled and it was incredible. I loved the older version of Peter Parker. He was different enough from Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire to be his own unique version of the character.
And now, just like George Lucas with the original Star Wars films, or Bungie with replacing Peter Dinklage as the Ghost in Destiny, or Call of Duty not hiring James C. Burns again as Frank Woods for the new Black Ops, Insomniac completely shit on their game, ruined it and it's now a complete joke.
There was nothing wrong with the character that they created. His voice matched his face perfectly fine, he was and looked older than Miles Morales and he looked like he had a few years of knowledge of being Spiderman under his belt. Now he looks like a 15 year old Highschool Tik-Tok user who's trying to look hot instead of a 23 - 26 year old College Grad Student.
It's just so upsetting honestly.
