Yeah I actually like doc ock's character model. But I do agree with you about Mj and maybe black cat. Definitely like miles new character model as well.

The best thing is - Scarface from Digital Foundry came to the Resetera Thread where everybody was cheering the obvious good Raytracing in that remaster and he just came and said that it is actually a shame that that screen with the Cars in New York Night is not in 4k. (off course the little Console hater Twat just wanted to pixelcount to find something bad in it. )
So someone fucking told him that on Sonys Flicker there is the 4k Version .

Age aside. That look doesn’t seem to match up with the rest of the characters and their age. That’s just my opinion. He seems to act a lot more mature than the new face portrays

This. The cast of characters in the game had consistent facial characteristics all around. They all felt part of the same cast. This change makes it look altered. It shouldn’t stick out so much. This is why you don’t change shit.

I think it dont need to be degraded to look good, ok a little grain can add some realism to the image but that's it. With your technic, you can take almost ANY game that as a decent lighting and do the same.

Take this post for example, from the tread I linked:

I am not sure on that, but the Insomniac devs did say it's RT reflections and that the latest build of the game is much more improved in fidelity compared to what we are seeing in this screenshot.

They can't fake reflections in the actual gameplay without old trickeries, so they will use RT in the final game, maybe not with this quality. It's just strange they use this image with a simple planar reflection and claim this is RT.

Lighting has definitely improved in some aspects. I was hoping to see daytime spidey swinging miles morales, that's what i am actually hyped for than the remaster of the OG spider-man.

Spider-man isn’t ray-traced in that picture. It’s using the same method they used on the original. (Lower rez model or SSR) Everything else seems to be ray-traced though.

Note if spidy was ray-traced he wouldn’t be misaligned in the reflection & showing the exact same issue as on the original version. Though they do show more of him on PS5, where the original was faded out after a foot or so. (But that’s deliberate (design choice) as it would look daft having him fully modelled but bugger all else showing )


Edit: or they are high Rez dynamic cubemaps. We won’t know unfortunately.

Those are RT reflections. It's just that some objects are excluded from the BVH to save performance. This looks really good. anyway and you will unlikely notice flaws in gameplay. The fact that we have RT reflections and shadows on a console at all and at native 4K or close to it is amazing.

The only gameplay footage we've seen of the remaster is a simple Up-Res and FPS version of the PS4 game. Have you seen it? or seen the comparison video?
